The condo we stayed in was laid out terribly. If you wanted airflow through the space, you'd have to leave your front door open as the windows in the bedroom were boarded up, otherwise you'd have to keep the AC on. The balcony/lanai were practically nonexistent, we kept getting dripped on by the AC units above us and there is no covering so sunlight and rain were major issues. The bathtub would almost not drain, when you turn on the shower, there's almost 3 inches of water in under a minute and it took almost 10 minutes to drain. There was no venting in the bathroom at all, so steam and stink stayed in there almost perpetually; there is a physical vent, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere or be cleaned out because a bunch of dust and lint came falling out one day.

Be prepared that the pictures of the condos are not true representation of all of the condos. Ours was a very outdated condo with too many mirrors and in need of a good cleaning. However if you get a condo in the higher floors you can get great peek a boo views of the ocean. Also be prepared if you are staying for more the a few days you will need to purchase supplies, like toilet paper. The few staff they have seemed nice enough. However, be aware that when checking in you should have a code for your door. The front desk does not have it and the booking site does not give it to you. If we would have checked in after five, not sure how we would have known the onsite office doesn't have anything to do with your rental. Last critique is the air conditioner does not cool the whole condo and there was no breeze in the bedroom, so we slept on the hideaway bed for comfort. Location is great and they have 2 pools, so you'll have to decide for yourself if it's the place for you.

This was our first condo experience in Hawaii. We have stayed at both luxury resorts and mid grade hotels. Room D415 at the Kihei Akahi more than met our expectations! It is a corner unit with a decent ocean view in the building furthest from the street. The assigned parking spot we had was front row. There is a stairway and an elevator. Very clean property and unit. Stocked with just about everything you need in the kitchen. Microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cutlery, pots, pans, dishes & more. The fridge did not get as cold as I would have liked even on highest setting. WIFI was great, no drops on tablet, laptop, or phones. ONLY negative...no central heat/air conditioning. The wall unit cooled the living area nicely but barely touched the bedrooms. There are ceiling fans and a box fan. Luckily, the pullout sofa was surprisingly comfortable and we spent several nights on it instead of the master bedroom. The furnishings, while not brand new and contemporary, were very comfortable and more than adequate for our 7 day stay. Master bedroom has a queen size bed and adjoining bathroom with tub/shower combo. The shower spray was a bit weak, but again, adequate. The second bedroom has two twin beds. We did not use them, but they appeared very clean and comfortable. The second bathroom is adjacent to it and has a shower/tub combo as well. We did not use this shower. This unit includes a washer/dryer combo. If you plan on doing laundry here, I would suggest you pickup a bag of detergent from the office. They are low capacity machines(only will take two-three beach towels max) and a family would need to do several loads a day. The instructions warn against using high suds detergent. The owners provide 4 beach chairs, many boogie boards, umbrellas, sand mats, portable cooler, & some beach toys. The linens and towels were clean and durable. There are extra pillows provided in the closets. There were several beach towels as well. Unfortunately for us, the property next door was in the midst of some parking construction. Started a precisely 8:00 am everyday until at least 4:00 pm. It was loud and a pain, but not something that would have been predictable. There are many shops and food choices within walking distance. The beach across the street has a lifeguard on duty. The waves pickup all over the island after noon, so plan on early water activities. We would definitely stay here again, and bring the kids with us.

This place was awsome! It was walking distance from the beach and numerous entertainment spots in the area. Nice kitchen and rooms!!!

this location is convenient to family beaches and restaurants and shops. Could use some updating in the room but staff were friendly and helpful

Nice location, beach across the street, stores and restaurants close by.... fun sharing the BBQ's next to each pool as we met interesting people each evening... accommodation varies depending on unit updating but all seem more than adequate.... yes, we will return....

This is our second stay in 13 months. This unit C612 was even better than last time C207. Good view of the ocean at humpback whale time (4 floors higher). The property is older and the units vary in terms of upgrades or modernization but contain everything needed for a comfortable stay. Two pool & bbq areas plus a tennis court. Beware, the birds start singing early in the morning and the louvered bedroom windows don't keep out much of the vehicle noise and conversations.

This complex is DIRECTLY across the street from Kamaole II. This beach has beautiful, warm, clear, calm water--perfect for the kids!! The unit has washer/dryer, fully stocked kitchen, huge bed in the room and a pullout couch in the living room. Great view from the balcony, two pools, close to shops, restaurants, etc. Caveat: I believe most of the units are individually owned so they may not all be as great as the one we were in. But for my first time staying there I was seriously impressed!!!

Clean and comfortable. Close to shopping and a very good places to eat. Beach rite across the street. Most everything you would want or need within walking distance. Highly recomended!

We've stayed here multiple times and it has been great.

The condo was nice and clean. It was located across the street from a good beach, so walking distance. It also had beach chairs, boogie boards and snorkle gear and we used all of it. Perfect place for a budget vaction.

As previous owners at Kihei Akahi we always return to this convenient location..we played tour guide to our relatives who also rented two condos in Akahi...they loved the location, esp. the beach access and island location, shopping, and restaurants

This condo was clean, comfortable, supplied with ample household needs. It is an easy walk to a lovely uncrowded beach. I felt like it was a home.

Terribly hot and NO air conditioning. I had to be moved the next morning as I could not tolerate the heat in the room and I had to pay extra. Their web site showed A/C but not when I got there. I was transferred to Maui Banyon and was very pleased.

after I got there. I liked it so much I booked extra day's Everthing you need pots pans utencels salt and pepper blender you name it it was there thank you

Great location, nice to have laundry in condo

The loction is great, right across the street from the beach and next door to resturants, and shopping. The inside of the condo was ok, simple w/ basics but ground floor let a few bugs in from the lawn. Some people actually live there so its a little different depending on which condo you get.
