My wife and I enjoyed a loobg weekend getaway. The property was as nice as we remembered from our last stay 3 years ago. This is more of a couples hotel than families. The tiered pool layout makes the property seem less crowded. We were able to get lounge chairs under an unbrella every day and which was critical for us. Overall great stay!
Very nice hotel, upscale and new on the north end of the Wailea beach hotels. Comfortable beds, fairly quiet. Pools and beach are comfortable and well staffed, every pool was an infinity. Hot tub wasn't very bubbly and jets were not very strong- only one hot tub on site. Only way to park a car is by valet for $30/day, which on top of the $40/ day resort fee adds up quickly. Shower itself was great- overhead waterfall-type shower head and handheld shower head were perfect. Found the bathroom to be sort of strange- shutters open and close the shower to the living area, which was odd in itself- but if you share a room with someone who gets up to use the bathroom in the night and they turn on the light, ALL the lights in the bathroom go on, including in the shower- where the light goes through the shutters (even if closed) directly on the bed where you are sleeping. Odd. Also, there are no door handles on any of the doors in the bathroom- especially in the toilet area, just a slit in the wood where you can try to grip the large door and pull it shut. The slit isn't especially large and hard to get your fingers in enough to pull the door firmly shut. Same slit for opening the closet door, it was hard to get the closet closed to keep the automatic light off in the closet.
Nice hotel. Need more menu options for pool bar and Room service? Same menu in both places?
Impressive in every respect - premises, beach, food, beach, spa
Nice but nothing special. The hotel was pretty with good views from certain parts. Nothing spectacular. Not what you'd expect from Maui per se.
The front staff are young and pleasant, but fail in the actual delivery portion of customer service. For example, when we upgraded our room at a cost of $100 per night, the wait went from "just have some lunch and it will be ready" to "we had not planned on getting that room ready today". At their suggestion, we asked to have our luggage brought down to their changing area so that we could go down to the pool. We waited in a basement room for 30 minutes and it never came. When I asked them to address the hours of waiting they offered a $75 voucher with the grace of offering a pacifier. With our vacation costing around $10K, I could not care less about a voucher and just wanted them to let us get out of our travel clothing and start our vacation. As another an Assistant Manager offered to put us in our original room and promised that our luggage would actually get to our room. Wow. A 4 star operation that need an Assistant Manager to make a point of how they will treat you with extra care and make sure your luggage will get to your room. From there the Hotel Lobby Staff continued to be very pleasant, enthusiastic, and completely incapable of doing much of anything. For example, we wanted to light some birthday candles on the beach. The desk did not have any, said the store did not have anything, and shrugged sadly suggesting we wait until the mall opens the next day and go there, rather than calling for us the hotel restaurants or pool attendants.
Hotel was the best in Maui. Best location, best beaches, best restaurants, best rooms and staff. Only downside was the cost (rooms expensive, $30 a day for parking, breakfast was $70-$100 a day for two)
It was my first time in Hawaii and I was very happy I picked Andaz. The hotel is spectacular, and the staff is very friendly, casual and helpful. The room was super nice. Even though we knew the hotel was sold out, it never felt crowded at all, there was always space in the pool, bars, restaurants, etc. Having said all those nice things, you will pay for it. The rate was quite expensive (around 600 USD +tax per night) and it does not include anything at all. If you are willing to pay the price and go to Wilea, Andaz is by far the best value hotel there. As I said, it is paradise but you will pay for it!
My wife and I stayed at the Andaz Maui in October 2014 for our honeymoon. The hotel has only been around for about a year or so which helped with it being a little more secluded, quiet and romantic. It was exactly what we were hoping for. The rooms were very clean and in great condition, everything is very modern. And you can't beat the views. We ventured out a few times to check out some of the neighboring resorts and were so happy with our decision to stay at Andaz. The other resorts seemed a little more run down and crowded. There was also a significant difference in the amount of children staying at the other resorts. No offense to people with children! But being on our honeymoon we appreciated sitting by one on the many infinity pools drinking a cocktail in peace. The staff and restaurants/bars were also a wonderful experience. Anything you wanted or needed they would be sure to accommodate you any way they could. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. We're looking forward to visiting again soon.
The Andaz provided us with the comfort and relaxation. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and accommodated our every need including super glue! The only thing, is our room wasn't ever cleaned during the time we were out and housekeeping and turndown service, on a couple of occasions came within the same hour. Highly recommended! Stayed with my teen daughter for 7 nights.
Great hotel location - beach access with nice reef to snorkel over right in front of the hotel. Has a walkway that connects it to all the other beach front hotels and is a nice place to run with fabulous views of the ocean. Spa and restaurants are great (but a little over-priced even for Wailea). Attentive staff who for the most part act like they don't mind working there. Would stay at this hotel again because of the prime location and comfortable facilities.
My wife and I stayed here for our 6 year anniversary, and let me say we literally cried upon our check out. This place is PHENOMINAL!!!! What makes it so great starts with the service. It's genuine. From the time we stepped out of the car right down to the maids, the staff made us feel like we were royalty. Hands down we will never stay at another resort.
Great view even on second floor which turned out to be perfect because everything is on the second or fifth floor. Laundry facility was very nice. (They provide soap) Breakfast buffet was excellent but $45 each. Great 24 hour market for snacks especially if you do a morning dive or sunrise at the volcano. Workout facilities were very clean and had an attendant. Head valet guy was very friendly and very helpful. Lavender lemonade is excellent! Negatives: no place to self park that we found so had to pay for valet each night Not enough umbrellas at the beach Dinner at Kaana Kitchen was good but they were not very accommodating (they predetermined tables and the menu is not flexible)
positives: Location near beach/ocean front Room ocean view/layout/comfort Free honeymoon wine Isolation from other resorts price with flight 1 free night from hotel Beach Sunset Negatives: Parking $30 nightly/valet only Staff looking/expecting tips Hotel Activity prices higher than internet rates Value high only due to free night. Value would be lower if I booked through website. Meal portions small at resturaunt We spent most of our time doing activities away from the hotel. Hotel seemed to be well aligned with amenities compared to the other big resorts. I would have probably visited more islands if it was easier to book with the website, but after 2 islands it was difficult to organize.
Andaz Maui At Wailea (A Hyatt Hotel) is located in a beautiful area. The hotel staff was very professional, friendly and accommodating. It is very difficult to give this hotel a negative review because their service was great and their rooms are comfortable and very clean. We loved their beach and the nearby ones because they have excellent areas for snorkeling. They also have 3 pools and one of the is open very late or all night (not quite sure). Also, the Morimoto restaurant in the hotel has some amazing dishes. We also recommend having a bite at the Pita Paradise and a must for dinner at Sarento's On the Beach in Kihei. This was our first trip to Maui and we are definitely going back and staying at the Andaz again.
We were welcomed as though we were walking right in to a friend's home! The hotel is the ultimate in luxury and comfort. It is so modern and impressive.... Definitely has that WOW! factor. The service was impeccable. Can't wait to come back to this little bit of heaven!!!
This is a beautiful property. Well built and with impecable service. The beach is fantastic with terrific service that sets up your lounges and umbrellas. The pools are many and layered so everyone has a view. Food is terrific if a little pricy. My only complaint is the hotel seems to be designed for the hip trendy crowd but it's missing some essentials. For one there is no decent music anywhere. The only night time bar is well designed and would be a fantastic venue to hang out late into the night if they just put in some decent DJ or at least play some modern EDM or at least a mix whatever is hip today. Instead u end up listening to Hawaiian songs that are fine for a day but should be reserved for elevators or luaus. Same with the gym. Playing Hawaiian music while you r trying to push yourself at the gym really spoils the fun.
Location and staff service are excellent. There is a great snorkeling place at the beach as well.
this by far was the best experience we have ever had at ANY hotel!!!! The staff was increadible--met all our needs without us asking for anything--we are here in Maui for a few more days and I have been telling anyone who will listen about Andaz--we had an amazing time!!!!!
