Excellent location in Marseille near metro station and tram going to the center attractions, near buses going to sea, beaches ( Prado, Pointe Rouge , Calanques...). A mediterranean open market ( except Sundays) at a few hundreds meter . For people who like walking or jogging you can go up to Notre Dame de la Garde and visit areas over the Corniche ... Rooms very quiet and reception very pleasant ... An excellent quality/price compromise . We recommend.
Small hotel in Marseille. Small rooms but you might not notice that if you plan to spend your time in the city. There is no parking for the car. The good thing is pretty convenient location close to metro and bus lines. Not terrible, but you could do better.
Simply a gem of a hotel. There is nothing fancy about the front/facade, but never mind that, the room was perfect, offering a great/comfortable bed, and a kitchenette facility with cooker/microwave/fridge. Very modern, and roomy enough; with a decent bathroom. It was just perfect for my short stay in Marseille. Amenities are close-by, with grocery stores and a short walk to the metro station. And if you want to go for a longer walk then it is doable to get to the beach. Also close enough to walk up the hill to the basilique perched at the top (and fantastic views of the old port and all of Marseille). Maybe I was just surprised to find such a great little hotel so easily, and at a really great price. Very impressed. (Stayed here on a business trip)
We stayed there for one night in a double room which had also a sofa. Clean room and bathroom, polite reception 24h , free coffee by machine in morning. For sure if our next trip is to Marseille we will stay there.
We went to Marseille for a sports event -Figure Skating Grand Prix- and chose this hotel because it was relatively close to the sports venue. Once there, we saw that it was a good size room, more or less nicely decorated in a somewhat modern sttyle and with a kichenette; the bathroom was also ok. So far, so good. We spent there three nights. The next morning we left to do some sightseeing through Marseille and then to the sports event and we arrived at the hotel at night, exhausted from the day but were stupefied to find the room unmade. I went to ask the recepcionist about this and she merely told us that if you stayed there less than 4 nights, they would't make up your room, fact which was not stated anywhere when we booked it through Hoteltravel website. Therefore, we knew then and there we would have to do our bed and tidy ourselves the room and bathroom if we wanted them presentable for the night. I do not think this is at all reasonable. Of course, had I known it in advance and chosen to book it nevertheless, I would not complain; but I don't think this is a negligible thing not meriting a mention in the booking procedures.
We stayed at this hotel while attending a sports event at nearby Palais Omnisport, which is at walking distance. The neighborhood is safe and reasonably pleasant, with shops, restaurants, metro stop and a public park closeby. The hotel is clean and well furnished. Wifi is fairly stable. The use of the business room is included, while breakfast comes with a surcharge. Unfortunately we were given a terrible room in the basement (not ground floor, the actual basement), with windows at street level on a busy road. It was dark and unpleasant, especially because of the heavy pollution that hit Marseille during our stay. We could not open the windows because of the car fumes and we had to keep the heavy curtains drawn to avoid people looking down into our room. Early every morning we were woken up by the traffic, which was literally two meters away from our bed. I have seen rooms like that in other hotels, but they are normally marketed as budget rooms and you're aware of what you're buying, while we paid the regular fare and nothing specific was mentioned on the website or the confirmation sheet. The hotel has a lot of rooms on different floors, some overlooking a back yard, so I suppose we just had bad luck. I don't think I was given this awful room as a last minute resort, since I had booked four months in advance. The room itself was ok, well appointed, with an excellent bed. The room was not serviced during our 3-day stay but this was not a problem to us. I will avoid this hotel in the future, because of the risk of ending up in the ugly basement again.
Dirty hotel. I was there for one night. I found 6 or 7 different types of hair in my bed, including pubic hair. At about 1 AM, I had to find the front desk person to show my findings and request new sheets and pillow cases. I brought it up with upper management, they never came back to me. AVOID.
I stayed here for 2 weeks while attending a class at KEDGE. The hotel was on the east end of the city near the stadium, but it was a quick metro ride (15 minutes) or lovely 1 hr morning walk to KEDGE. For an extended stay I liked having a mini kitchen in the room. There are a few grocery stores close by for the essentials. WiFi signal was strong and didn't drop out. Breakfast in the basement was fine - coffee machine, pastries, plate of meat and cheeses. After a few mornings I started eating in cafes just to mix things up. There is a washer and dryer on site, another bonus for longer stays (I didn't use them though). The staff were friendly. NOTE: The hotel doesn't offer bathroom essentials such as separate shampoo and conditioner, lotion, bar soap, etc. There are pharmacies in the area to purchase these things, or bring from home. I would stay here again for a longer stay. If I was in Marseille for only a few days I would get a hotel closer to Vieux Port.
We stayed for three nights then added another day to accommodate our schedule. This is one of the least expensive hotels we have stayed in and it is new and everything works. The staff is friendly, speak english, and are very helpful. The maids were friendly and did a great job, too. This hotel is only one block from the metro (subway) station. The Metro, Bus, and tram system was easy to figure out and we felt safe everywhere we went. We bought 72 hour passes and they were good on all public transportation. Take Bus 60 to go to Notre Dame. The Hotel has the best Beds! Everything is good here.
Stayed here for 2 nights driving across Europe. Nice modern apartments, big comfy bed, receptionist spoke good English. Was in quite a rough area, and quite a walk away from main shopping and old port. Staff were friendly but not overly welcoming. The fridge in the apartment wasn't plugged in, so we had to drag the whole thing out, plug it in, then push it back into the cupboard, which then didn't close because of the plug, so were avoiding an open cupboard door whilst using the kitchenette. Wifi was good. Bedside tables lit up which was pretty cool and added a nice ambience to the room at night.
