Good location and reasonable price. I often visit Marseille and always stay here.

I really liked my stay and the staff was really nice. I came around 11 and they let me check in early. The room was very neat and well kept. It was quiet also, I really appreciated it.

I often travel to Marseille. And if this hotel is available I always stay here. Perfect location! Price is reasonable.

I stay at this hotel every time I come to Marseille. Reasonable price and very nice location.

This hotel was well located and everything was so easy to walk too. The front desk people were wonderful and helped us out a lot! Made our stay in marseille great

The hotel is good, parking is close by and rooms are nice. Make certain you reserve the room for the correct number of persons. I did not, since my daughter decided to stay with me. I was charged the difference in the full rate. Check your receipt before you leave. We had been charged for breakfast before the serving hours began... we left early to get to the airport. The route to the airport is close... approx. 30 minutes.

Very friendly, warm service. Family atmosphere. The room had some strange elements: clear red plastic chairs and night tables, apparently no way to turn on the night lights at the bed, and the knobs to turn on the water for the shower and bath are down low, necessitating bending over when taking a shower to adjust the temperature. Not fun when one has a sensitive back. Loved the interior decorating in the lobby and breakfast room. Colorful ethnic neighborhood...

The front desk staff were confused with our reservation. They made us verify that we had actually booked online with Orbitz by printing off our email receipt on their computer. Only then did they give us a room. The room smelled of fresh paint. Nothing like being high on paint fumes on your honeymoon. The hotel IS close to the train station and Vieux Port, however this is a very shady/dirty area of town. At checkout the next morning the receptionist (different one from the night before) asked us to pay for our room - Of which we had already paid online with Orbitz previously AND the receptionist before had confirmed with our online printout. Poor communication, average rooms -- I honestly have experienced better service at European hostels than New Hotel Select. Don't select it.

very close to the main train station and the major sites- port, downtown restaurants, cathedral

Our stay at this hotel was the beginning of a multi-week vacation. We arrived in the evening after flying for 15 hours and an hour bus ride from the airport. The first room we were given had a wet carpet because the carpet had been shampooed earlier in the day and had not dried; there was also a musty smell in the room. The next room had two single beds pushed together despite the fact that our reservation was for a queen. The desk clerk insisted that there were no queens available and we would have to accept the two singles. At no time during our 3 nights did anyone from the hotel make any attempt to rectify this problem, or offer any additional consideration for not being able to provide the promised accommodation. Don't believe the information this French hotel provides in their advertisements.

Staff was friendly and spoke good English (which is unusual in Marseille). Hotel is in good location, 5 min walk from RR terminal and 10 min walk from the port. What I did not like is 1) no iron in the room, 2) breakfast was for-fee which was not explicitly indicated in the breakfast area (I learned about the price at checkout)

Front desk staff very friendly. The room was ok, but we were only there to sleep anyway. Clean enough for us. Safe to store stuff in room. First night we were there, we had neighbors that talked until like 3am, but slept great the days after that. Loved the close location to Gare St. Charles (right down the street) and proximity to La Canebiere. Internet access in lobby, but the computer could use an update. There is a TV in the room, was small and static-y for some channels but we didn't really watch it. Has nice dining area, but we ate at nearby bakeries.

the hotel is in a good location, although it can be noisy since it is located near busy streets. the room was okay, nothing special, very basic. the breakfast at the hotel was bad and expensive. save money and your taste buds and go out for breakfast. the hotel staff is not friendly so don't bank on them being very helpful. overall this is more like a two star hotel than a three.

The positive is that it is indeed very close to the train station, so if you are Eurailing, it is very convenient. It is also not very far from Marsielle's main strip...it takes about 15 minutes to get to the port area, and it is a very pleasant walk. another positive is that the staff was delightful, very friendly and informative. The room, however, was only tolerable. It seemed to have been clean, but everything was so old that no matter how much you clean, it's never going to be fresh. The carpet was so dingy that my wife and I thought it would be best to use flipflops to walk around the room. We tossed the comforter to the ground due to some stains. The walls could use some fresh paint also. This hotel had a lot of potential, but until they renovate the rooms, I would have to say it is below average. I do have to give them credit for having AC controls that work and they were changing the carpeting in the hallway while I was there.

The location of the hotel is ideal for travelers who travel by bus or train because it is very close (a 5-minute walk) to the bus/train station. During our first stay (booked well in advance) we had a very large and pleasant room, the second time it was smaller but still very nice. Good breakfast in a pleasantly appointed room. The main street and the marina are within walking distance, full of wonderful restaurants, so the absence of a restaurant in the hotel is not an issue. I would recommend it to a friend, single or with a family because it is absolutely suitable for any purpose.
