I'm lucky enough to have stayed in many Riu Hotels around the world, seeing this was a short notice holiday when I saw it was a Riu I knew we would be in good hands.... There is no way that this is a 4 Star Hotel more of a +3 Star. The brochure clearly states international drinks available. Before I go on I'm not a big drinker but do like to have a couple when on holiday. However the drinks were local brands and very weak, unless you tipped he bar staff early in the week you were then guaranteed a proper measure of Rum, Vodka etc.... Don't be shocked by how small the glasses are, you will end up 50% of your evening at the bar getting drinks.... in the end we were asking for two. The only international drink on offer was Martini. In other Riu Hotel there have been well stocked bars with a large choice of all drinks, local brands as well as international. Not the case at this Riu. The rooms were clean and they were made up everyday with clean towel, my only gripe would be there was no coffee making facilities or bottle water waiting for you in the room on arrival. If you were an early riser then you would have to wait until you went to the reception or waited until 0730 when breakfast was being served. Water is available from the reception or main bar. So if you arrive late in the night make sure you ask for a bottle before being shown to your room. Food was very good I can say that there was a good variety of both local and international cuisine. Waiters were friendly but again if you wanted the extra touch you should tip them at the beginning of your holiday. Reception the staff favour the French clients. E.G. we were in the middle of a transaction when the receptionist turn and started to deal with the French client who had rudely interrupted and left us standing there until her supervisor came and asked what she was doing.... There is not one thing that i can put my finger on but having experienced other Riu 4 stat hotels this was definitely not a 4 star experience. Tips if you are going here: Take your own towels, yes they are provided but of poor quality. Travel Kettle Watch the marble very slippery when wet even with rubber sole shoes on.

Just returned from a lovely week staying at the Tikida Gardens with a group of friends. Although I tend to get out and about on holiday, the group consensus was a week to enjoy hotel and pool and weather. The hotel has a number of strengths. For me, the main ones were the quality of food and the friendliness of the staff. Out of quite a number of all inclusive holidays in many world destinations over the years, I would place the food at the top for the most tastiest food of all experienced at an all inclusive hotel. In addition to the usual fare in the all inclusive restaurants, there was a good and plentiful selection of Moroccan stews, vegetable and pulses dishes available at each meal and each of them so full of flavour. If a slab of rare meat on a plate is your usual choice, you will be sadly disappointed. I loved that some of the chefs would engage in warm & friendly banter with you. We found the older gentlemen waiters were the most efficient and attentive overall. We found all the staff at the hotel to be very warm, friendly and attentive without being intrusive during the week across all of the hotel departments. All presented as happy in their work. Some staff can speak English more fluently than others, despite this the staff who were less fluent had sufficient skills to communicate adequately with you. The hotel animation team deserve a special mention. There is a full range of activities over the course of the day - enough to meet a variety of interests. Not unlike the staff in the other hotel departments, there are quite a few gems on the team, consequently there was good participation in all of the activities on offer. We found Zouhair to be exceptionally good - for us he was the diamond in the animation team - a man of many talents ( cooking, teaching language, sports, dancing, etc) with a fabulous and engaging sense of humour. Out of all of the staff at the hotel, have to say Zouhair would be the person who made our stay appreciatively fun and enjoyable. The rooms we had were basic, but sufficient to meet needs. Have both a fridge and safe. No charge for the safe but no mini bar. The beds are clean and comfortable, and this includes the fold up (z bed) beds - these have a full size mattress and can easily accommodate an adult comfortably. Shower has good water pressure. Our room was cleaned to a high standard by our housekeeper. A weakness of this hotel is the drinks available at the hotel and evening entertainment. There are only international drinks (spirits), lager, and a basic wine selection on offer and initially until the staff became used to our round of drinks - our drinks order would frequently be confused! Despite the great efforts made by the animation team to deliver fun and engaging evenings, would have liked to have seen more quality local acts as part of the entertaiment package.

Mmmm well I've stayed at 8 other Rui hotels worldwide and this is not the best! The usual service you get in a Rui is definitely not here. The showers bearly work in your room. The air con works but not very cold. 3 hangers in our wardrobe !! The evening entertainment is nothing but laughable! The only good one was the African night. Some of the staff are very rude to anyone who's not French! The food very repetitive. The 1001 Restaurant is worth avoiding. Daytime entertainment consists of water aerobics and the odd game if ping pong and darts!!! The staff in the gym are extremely rude. Drinks well you couldn't get drunk on the measures they give you that's for sure. I certainly won't be rushing back to this Rui that's for sure!

Went back in May for Two weeks and again the end of June for another two weeks. Not mad about the location of the hotel but there is the mini bus and plenty of taxis. We had two fantastic holidays, our third this year at this hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean, our cleaner is a lovely lady called Aziza. For us the food is very good, the head chef Rachid and his staff work hard to provide a varied and delicous menu. The best breakfast chef is Mustapha who always makes a perfect omlette to your liking. The pool bar was where you had lunch and also where you could go and help yourself to soft drinks, saw some disgusting tourists shoving their hands into the ice instead of using the tongs provided, so got my ice from the bar. All the waiting on staff are pleasant and look after you. Especially Abdeloughed and Miloud. The animation team work extremely hard even when the temperature was 46 degrees. The entertainment in the Zanzibar was very good and the singer Saad had an excellent varied repertoire, and what a lovely voice. Plenty of sunbeds, lovely gardens. Found all the staff without exception to be helpful and friendly. Goes without saying that we shall be returning.

I stayed here with my mum in July and really enjoyed it. So yes there were a few bits that could be improved, our room was a little run down, but it was clean and our house keeper was so lovely. The food was a bit monotonous, so we hadn't a few meals out. Alcohol sizes are tiny, but I never woke up with a hangover. However, the staff were wonderful and lovely and I have no complaints. The thing is you get what you pay for and if they fixed the few things that needed fixing the price you pay would go up. I was more than happy with my experience here. The pool area gets very busy and loud due to the large amount of families, burn the area behind is much quieter. You have to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve a sun lounge room though which can be annoying.

Just returned from a week here. A good spacious room, kept very clean, fresh towels etc daily. Yes it could do with a little update but I believe it is in the process. The dining menu is not the biggest buffet but we found plenty to choose from. Nour, one of the waiters really took the time to make sure we had coffee in the morning, without being asked, plus kept our water and wine topped up if required. Always had a smile. Made sure we tipped him, when we left, well deserved. A simple greeting in French is appreciated too. Shame flights are always at stupid o'clock at night and forms to fill in, when all you want is your bed. Didn't watch any of the entertainment so can't judge on that. You definitely need to venture out to the Square in the day and night, it's an experience. Only problem we had was leaking air conditioning but they rectified it although did need telling them twice. On the whole a good week for what we paid. I don't think I would want to stay longer than a week as not enough to do but great if you just want to chill by the pool.

Well the staff were friendly and the place was spotlessly clean . Needs updating in the accommodation side and its quite dark in the corridors. It would be nice to have closed doors instead of stable doors on the toilets. The food was not too our liking we are very little I was unwell for 5 days and my husband for 2 days . Also the food until the last couple of days was the same every day no change hardly at all very greasy and fatty meat very dry fish that was overcooked and always fried.Virtually no pudding choice and little fruit options . Drinks we not up too much cocktails were odd and everything was full of ice . The air con was not reliable and the plug socket came out of the wall when we pulled the plug out both was put right quite swiftly . The Rep was not a lot of good not very helpful about trips the waterfall trip was good lots of steps as was the Marrakech by night an experience not too miss . I would not go far from the hotel alone you are pestered immediately you leave the hotel .The swimming pool and the activities team were great .You have to be up early for sun loungers . The evening entertainment is far too loud but a good variety. I would not stay here again unless it was a late cheap deal .

Stayed at the RTG first week of September, pleasantly surprised at the resort. As usual there are a few negative reviews, different people have different reasons I suppose! Whenever I do a review I like to take into account the cost of the holiday, on this occasion it was £402 all inclusive through Thompson. We have stayed in a Riu in Mexico this year, the two don't compare but México was 2.5 x the price! Hotel is generally clean throughout, rooms clean, pool clean & restaurants clean. We had a few ants out on our balcony but no big deal, no mosquitoes was an added bonus. All of the staff were very polite throughout our stay, we did give them small tips because wages are extremely low in Morocco and it was very much appreciated. Even at busy times in the restaurant, there was a table available for us probably because we tipped them at breakfast. The food is quite nice although it gets a little bit boring after day 5. The RTG is relatively small so you are not going to get a massive choice of food like some of the bigger RIU's. Although we ate similar food, my wife had an upset tummy for 24 hours, probably a bug because I was fine. The pool area was busy on our first day, there was a lot of people leaving that evening and there was plenty of sun beds available for the rest of the week. I would imagine that during school holidays sun beds are at a premium and you would have to be up early with the towels. Ahmed, the Thompson rep, was extremely helpful and also honest about the resort and area. We booked a guided tour to the Souks (markets) for one afternoon on his recommendation, enjoyable afternoon seeing the locals and how they live. We are a couple in our late 40's nowadays, would I go there with small kids? Probably not, it's extremely hot at this time of year. If you want a cheap bit of sun then give it a go, definitely an experience. Last thing, the airport is nightmare both in and out, defo patience required. HOTEL 👍 Immaculately clean hotel. Hard working staff all of them . Friendly and very helpful. FOOD OUTSTANDING. 👍 So much choice, all freshly cooked. DRINKS 💪🏼 Yes they are weak but .. you can drink all day upto late at night and referring to a few English guests during our stay they really didn't need it any stronger ! ROOMS 👍 Spotless , cleaned to within an inch of their lives daily. Bedding , towels changed daily. ANIMATION TEAM 👍 what a hard working fun loving team. Not pushy, just simply friendly young people wanting you to have a good time. RECEPTION excellent service , thank you for all your help with sorting an issue out. Really appreciate it. So to conclude. A brilliant hotel, do not listen to the whiners. Yes we did have a few tummy issues but, different country , different foods, extreme heat35-40 degrees. These factors all add up to running the risk of an upset stomach . Go and ENJOY.

Went with my bf last week. We were welcomed by a cocktail, offered a light dinner; salad and bread but we were tired and prefered to go to sleep. We were escorted to our room which was nice, clean and bigger than it seemed on the pictures. Big dressing room with a safe. My concern is always the bathroom but i must admit this one was satisfying, could do with a renovation but no big of a deal. The hair dryer worked very good too. The staff are all lovely especially Adbdullatif the waiter. The receptionists are a little less enthusiastic apart from the tall and skinny gentleman i didnt catch his name. But the blond lady and Fouad(not sure if thats how u spell) looked like they were forced to be there and would keep you wating and no apology or smile. The rest of the staff was lovely, the entertainment team, cleaners, security, the manager... everyone. The food was a bit repetitive but tasty, we really enjoyed it. There is wifi only in the lobby which can be weak but who goes on holidays to be on internet all the time anyway. There were flies especially around the pool but again its hot and people leave drinks everywhere, so its no big of a deal. The hotel could certainly do with some renovation especially another pool and get rid of those tennis courts. Also customer service training at the reception is very much needed! Overall though, we really enjoyed this hotel. Our rooms were cleaned as soon as we went out, the waiters were lovely and the entertainment as a whole was great. We Would certainly return in a heart beat! We sincerely Thank everyone at Tikida Garden.
