We stayed here from 26th jan to 2nd feb 2018. It is a beautiful clean hotel with very friendly helpful staff. The room was very clean and tidy, (the only thing we didn't like was the lack of kettle and tea making facilities in the room). The hotel is clean and there is always someone cleaning windows, or something. The paths get washed down every morning also. The Hotel has very good entertainment, be it a guy singing on the piano in the Bar or proper entertainment in the Bar down Stairs. The food was amazing, every meal time was fantastic with a lot of choice, Tagines, Cous Cous, Meats and salad counters, an egg counter with omelettes to die for, Breads and pan cakes. Its all there unless you are expecting your full english fry up, that isnt there, why would it be??? We always ate in the conservatory and the guyd waiting on you cant do enough for you. The pool is very clean and we had plenty of days sun bathing by the pool with the pool bar and restaurant right by it. You can book a night in the Moroccan Restaurant for an authentic meal, again this was amazing. We went with TUI and all transfers were spot on, we booked a trip into the Atlas Mountains which was spectacular with some lovely stop offs and meals in the local Berber villages.. The Marrakech Souks is interesting!!! it is an experience but it is very busy and not very clean, the people push and push to sell you everything and anything but if your firm and keep walking they back off. Never pay what they ask, if something is 800 Dhirum youll get it for 400. I d recommend the horse and cart trip around the new and old city, it was lovely.
Travelled with Tui last two weeks in January 2018 Overall impression compared to the other hotel in Marrakech we had stayed in (Palmeraie) was that the Garden was about a star rating lower. Waiter service patchy, some very good some poor. Food good quality reasonable variety but desserts not up to standards required Room ok but heating/cooling not working properly. Bathroom good and good hairdryer provided. Separate toilet from bathroom Pool area ok but pool absolutely freezing cold. Completely unused by all guests because it was so cold. There is however an indoor pool in the spa accessible free from 1100 hrs till 1500 hrs. This pool is heated and pleasant Pool bar and lunch restaurant ok but limited choice. Main bar excellent, staff the best I've seen in a holiday hotel. Lively friendly and prone to give an excellent impromptu singing and percussion performance at a moments notice. Also a singer/keyboard player singing mainly in English but also Spanish French and German. Excellent voice and song choices. Weather perfect in week one, 23,24 deg C each day but second week disappointed mainly 15 deg C and even down at 13 deg C one day
We were recommended to try this hotel and did so. What can I say but unable to give any negative feedback. The hotel itself is amazing the staff is amazing and the food is excellent. If you are thinking about visiting Morocco this is the place to stay.
This was a very last minute booking This was a last minute break and we This was a last minute booking and we had no idea what sort of hotel we would find. We have been to Marrakech before (years ago) so were looking for a good hotel but not necessarily in the centre as we had toured the souks and main square previously. This hotel is all inclusive and the quality & variety of food was very good. Beer and wine were also good, but the "cocktails" we tried were all far too sweet. The flavours were completely masked by the syrupy base. The rooms, restaurant and bar are all pleasant and the staff are very helpful and polite. The 1001 Nights Restaurant, which is promoted as a "special" venue and has to be booked in advance, is a pleasant setting but the food is uninspiring. This restaurant does NOT incur any extra charges but the choice is very limited and after one meal there, we decided that there was far more choice in the main restaurant. We booked trips with Tui, to Essaouria and the Atlas Mountains and would recommend these as a good way of seeing more of the country, in the company of knowledgeable guides. Having seen these areas, even if only for a day, it is an excellent way of judging whether holidays in other places might be an option. We also booked a half day visit (through Tui) to the Bahia Palace plus souks (in Marrakesh.) This was interesting, although we had done some of it before, but among other things, the guide took us to Brothers Herboliste. Apparently this is a seller, endorsed by Tui - a provider of pure argan oil and other authentic products. The items we were all shown and which were tried by all of us, were excellent - the items BOUGHT were less so. Everything was well sealed and obviously buyers won't open their purchases on the premises as it might be very difficult to reclose them. Having got them home, we found the mint tea smelled mouldy, the lemon oil was out of date, and the "snoring remedy" which was pungent in the shop, had lost all of its potency. This is not to say that I mind - the items were not extortionate and we all should remember the saying - "buyer beware" but I feel that Tui should distance themselves from dubious businesses. Final point - ladies are expected to cover their shoulders and NOT show too much flesh.
Just returned from a week at the Tikida Garden. Lovely hotel set in a quiet location but not far from the lively centre of Marrakech. Hotel supplies a free mini bus to the centre or taxis always available. Being winter, hotel not over crowded so plenty of space around the pool and in the restaurants. Found all staff from reception to room service and even gardeners very friendly and helpful. All the bar staff are excellent mixing drinks and remembering how you like it. Food good and varied but could get repetitive if staying for 2 weeks. Felt safe at all times, loved the country and the people. First visit but won't be the last
Hi came here for my wife's birthday for two weeks I can honestly say it was a nice hotel pleasant staff food was pretty good two pool seemed a bit pointless to have as it was unheated and ni chance of getting in there they did have a small indoor pool but was not very inviting however we entertained our selves with tennis and badminton playing cards etc so not to bad there but was really very disappointed with the night entertainment African night was ok even tho it was only on for about an hour and that was that rest if the nights left twiddling our thumbs bored listening to someone trying to sing songs and a couple thinking it was there week to do strictly come dancing badly so left to go back to room Next is not related to hotel at all TO ALL TOURISTS GOING TO THE MEDINA BE VERY AWARE OF PEOPLE TRYING TO SCAM YOU TO GO THE TANNERIES TRUST ME AND GOOGLE MARAKECH TANNERY SCAM WE GOT CAUGHT BY THIS BY MISTAKE AND LEFT VERY SCARED IE DEMANDING MONEY OR YOUR LIFE LEFT MARAKECH NEVER WANTING TO GO BACK EVER EVER THE THOMSON REP AHMED SURLEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD US OR AT LEAST THE HOTEL AS IN SIGNS FOR WARNING YOU OF THIS HORRIBLE SCAM SHAME ON YOU THOMSON
I stayed for a week as a solo traveller, age 67, and had a wonderful holiday. My room was spacious, beautifully clean and had everything I needed. The grounds are expansive and well maintained with a variety of plants and trees. The food was delicious, delightfully presented and there was a wide range of choice at each meal. Waiters in the restaurant were helpful and friendly and kepty wine and water glasses refilled at dinner. Bar staff, after day one, seemed to know my order as I reached the bar and the early evening extras of nuts, olives and popcorn were a lovely touch. The animation team were well organized, enthusiasic and friendly, they encouraged everyone to join in with activites, but were in no way pushy. I went on excursions to Ouzoud Falls, Essouria, camel riding and the Marrakech by night carriage ride. Each one was thoroughly enjoyable. A fantastic holiday, thanks to all the staff and I will definitely be back.
Away from the tumultuous life of city center, the hotel is beautiful and relaxing. The staff are all very attentive. Bar staff remember what drink you like! The rooms are big. Every day the room was made up. If I had to find a fault, it would be the towels. It's really a shame that they are still in use. In addition WiFi was nonexistent in rooms. The food at this hotel is good. We had a massive choice every meal, every day! Security in the hotel is excellent, we felt very safe at all times. We will definitely returning.
Third visit to this hotel early January. Had a nice relaxing holiday, animation team are good fun without being pushy. Feel the food had improved since last visits, same choice but quality and presentation better.
We often holiday in Riu hotels. This time we went away at Xmas - we chose the tikida. It is located around 5km from marrakech centre - which is why it is cheaper. The hotel does have a taxi but it stops at 6pm. So if you want an evening out it will cost 100dh to get back to the hotel which is around £8. Some may charge you more. The food is average for a Riu but then I havent known morocco to be good with food, They don't do good cocktails and they don't have prosecco. However, the wine is the best I have had in any riu that is because it is local. It is a small riu but friendly. Next time I will book in the centre as we like to explore
