Raetihi Lodge

The rooms are simple but spacious. Guests are encouraged into the communal areas and therefore the facilities in rooms are limited. The communal areas are beautifully decorated, spacious and allow for all manner of activities. There is a tv room, games room, lounge area, spacious outdoor areas. My favourite past time was sitting in front of the large fire reading my book during a storm. The lodge is situated in a stunning landscape which can be explored by foot or by renting (for free) the hotels bikes, kayaks, paddle boards. The staff are willing to help with everything and as there are only a small number of staff they quickly become familiar. Colin was a particular favourite. The food is delicious although quite expensive if you are there for a longer stay as you have to eat at the lodge all the time.

We stayed two nights as part of the Queen Charlotte Track. It was a great way to break up the trip and relax, bike, golf and kayak. The food was mostly good, service was a little slow or non existent at times mainly because they were under staffed. All in all a nice place to stay away from the hustle and bustle!

We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Extremely welcoming hosts, excellent, friendly staff who cater for every need and wonderful meals. Combine this with one of the most beautiful, scenic parts of the world and you have the setting for a very special weekend.

We spent 2 days/nights at Raetihi Lodge, and so far it has been the absolute best stay on our 3 weeks vacation to New Zealand. The lodge is located very close to the water, in the most idyllic setting of Marlborough Sounds. The hosts Liane and Allan are so hospitable and friendly, and do their absolute best to make your stay perfect. We booked with breakfast and a 3 course dinner included both days, which was a very good deal. The food is amazing- really gourmet!. We give the lodge our highest recommendation, and hope to come back again

This spot is a little slice of heaven. We were relaxed, well cared for, able to hike, bike and sit out of lawn and play games. Rooms are beautifully done, very comfortable and have awesome views. Highly recommend.

It all started with a friendly welcome at the Te Mahia jetty, for a ten minutes crossing to reach the Lodge. In itself, a very good start as we wanted to be away from it all. This is a special place where to find rest, calm, beauty, gourmet meals, comfort and privacy. Just wonderful.

I'd like to pretend good planning led me to Raetiki but it was the lack of good food options at Te Mahia. Allan the owner picked us up in his speed boat at 6pm at Ta Mahia wharf, sunset over Kenepuru Sound on way over, moon set on arrival. Decor of the recently renovated lodge is very special, food and wind extraordinary. Best eating out in seven days and New Zealand and we tried plenty believe me. We had lamb and fish for mains, salmon and baked goats cheese entrees. All inventive, delicious and very generous sized. Already planning a longer return. Superb.

We have just returned from having my Daughters wedding and reception here. Through out the whole planning process they were excellent. The wedding was held on the grounds in front of the lodge and was lovely. The food at the Wedding breakfast was faultless. All in all a great experience and would not hesitate to recommend the lodge.

One the most perfect spots for retreat or to run away to. Staff are fantastic and make you so welcome. We arrived at 3pm and they whipped up fantastic late lunch. Dinner or breakfast just fantastic food and service. The accommodation is great. Lots to do in the area if you are keen to warm bicycle or swim.

We stayed at Raetihi Lodge for 4 nights in February and absolutely loved it. Despite the unseasonably inclement weather we soon relaxed and just soaked it all up - the boat trip across the Sound; our lovely room with a waterfront view; the local walks (on one walk we saw a pod of dolphins!); the fabulous food (the filet steak with smoked black garlic butter was outstanding); the staff who were all so friendly and informative etc etc I would recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone looking for a quiet stay in a stunning location.
