Great position, middle of town. Great sized room, clean tidy and comfortable. Plenty of eat houses within easy walking distance, eat in or take away. Overall a great spot for a stay. Beach an easy walk and a nice beach at that. No problems with this place at all.
The motel units themselves are clean and tidy, noticed new air conditioning had been installed in many units. The grounds are great with lovely lawns and bbq area as well as pool and spa. Very nice for a relaxing dip. The hotel was excellent. Many beers on tap, a large TAB area really well set out and there were plenty of staff on hand to serve the large crowd. A good all round stay.
The woman I spoke to regarding my booking when I called a few days prior to confirm a few details, was very, very rude and condescending. The tone in her voice was sarcastic and she had absolutely no intention of helping me and then reminded me that it was too late to cancel if I didn’t do so by the end of the day which she seemed to find amusing. On the day of my booking I did receive better service from the other at the desk however the damaged had been done. Then I arrived to my accomodation and let me tell you-it was like stepping into the early 90s. It is very very dated and basic. The walls need a paint, the beds are really stiff and hard and the bedding looks very dated. For that price I would have expect a better experience.
We had booked a standard room for a night as we were attending a local wedding. Friendly, efficient lady at reception resulted in fuss free check-in. The room was fairly basic, but large in area, and accommodated double and single beds, stand alone wardrobe, microwave, well equipped cupboard with crockery & cutlery, teas, coffees, etc., large fridge, table and two chairs. Bathroom large, high pressure shower rose, ample toiletries supplied. Great TV, older type AC unit that functioned well. We had a comfortable stay, the room and bathroom were clean, the bed linen fresh and with no nasties. Some minor maintenance and improved decor would result in more appealing place to stay. Simple check out . The motel is in a central location in Dunsborough and handily located for an economic base to sightsee local attractions. Some great restaurants and cafes nearby. We would have no hesitation in staying at this motel again.
The location is the best feature of this place being right in the middle of all the restaurants and shops. The rooms and bathrooms were nice, tidy, with basic facilities and we were really happy once checked in. Very disappointed at bed time with finding dirty blankets, the receptionist advised they do change all the bedding after each guest and cleaners would have changed the sheets but forgot the blankets - I wasn't totally convinced though that the blankets are changed after each guest. We were mortified to find both the double and single beds blankets were noticeably dirty with what looked like semen all on the top of the blanket. We had a horrible night sleep with no bedding, as reception closes at 7.30pm at night. Next morning I complained and they got straight onto replacing the bedding while we went out for breakfast which was good. I was disappointed we weren't offered any discount for the inconvenience of a horrible fist night sleep in a dirty bed. I also didn't find the massive metal cart of dirty linen permanently stationed in the main corridor next to our room very appealing to walk passed each time you leave your room. The pool is good and tidy, just an average back yard sized pool and a gazebo over a free standing spa, with about 5 day beds. Gardens/lawns are well kept, with picnic tables and bbq's provided if you want to sit outside for dinner/lunch. The aircon in our room was like the older style wall mounted aircon (not split system) and was really noisey, too noisey to sleep with it on. Room had a decent sized tv and nice clean bathroom with toiletries provided. Kitchen had a small supply of hot drink sachets and little milk sachets in the fridge which is always good. Beds were a little too firm for my liking but I find that is that case with most hotels. Would be good if they could put extra blankets in the cupboards in case needed. They don't have quilts on the bed, just these weird decorative covers which aren't very comfortable to sleep under as the are very heavy and suffocating. We found there was ample parking but the place didn't seem overly busy. Although the location of this place for food was the best, I probably would look else where to stay next time as this place didn't totally rock my socks for the price and the mishap with the dirty bedding and no discount was off putting.
Conveniently situated in the town. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, beach etc. Clean site well maintained but basic accommodation. Our room was on the outer block nicer rooms are centrally situated and have better outlook however these are mostly the larger family rooms.
This motel is located right behind The Dunsborough Tavern so I booked here purely for the location. There was nothing wrong with the room, it wasn't great but it wasn't bad - it was just a basic room with a bed and bathroom. We only stayed here for 1 night so I am not sure about any of the amenities however the staff were nice and the access was easy. I would book again if I just needed a place to crash!
Motel is smackbam in the middle of Dunsborugh, free parking on site, though you may not be out the front of your room, the walk won't be too far. Close to restaurants, bars, shops and supermarkets all within a 5-10min walk away. The beach is also close by 10-15mn walk away. The rooms itself are not a bad size, same with the bathroom. There is a fridge, TV, a noisy A/C, interconnecting rooms. There is a pool and BBQ on site. The only downside would be the very noisy neighbours we had not sure if they were just VERY loud or if the rooms were just very paper thing, you can hear almost every word of the conversation they had at 6am it isn't a great start to the day especially when the the sleep was interrupted through out the night from other (or the same neighbours in the early hours on the morning)
What a nice surprise! Excellent, central location only one minute walk to shops, restaurants and pubs, but room was still quiet inside. Room was clean and modern. Very friendly service over the phone and at reception. Clean pool and BBQ area. Would definitely stay here again. Great job Dunsborough Central Motel!
Another classic example of a lazy Australian Motel that doesn't have to try very hard. Noisy air con and tired matresses. Grout in bathrooms could do with a clean... and quite dusty. On the plus side the location is great for access to the town centre... which tries hard to look like a trendy suburb of Perth.... it's a place to sleep.
