I purchased a voucher to avail of an overnight stay here and disappointing would be downplaying our experience. I originally booked for our accommodation for July 22-23 but due to unforeseen sickness which hit our family I had to call and ask if we can re-book. I was gladly accommodated for this request during my call. When I requested for the following weekend, I was informed that they can only accommodate 2 Deal Grocer vouchers so I requested for the following weekend and they said yes. My re-booking for Aug 5-6 was confirmed via the phone call. August 5 came and when we were trying to check in, there was no room for us. Apparently, they were not allowed to make modifications for the reservation. Which made me question why my request was accommodated during the call. And apparently, the hotel is fully booked at the time which left my family -- including 2 kids (a 5 year old and a 10 month old) no accommodation for that night. And since we were originally booked for July 22, the room has been consumed. Thereby, wasting our money. Fast forward to a month after our supposed over night stay, I got an email from this hotel to rate my stay. The email goes... "Dear Dulce," Who on earth is Dulce?? Did she stay in the room last July 22-23 which forfeited our "re-booking"?? So disappointing would be an understatement.
The only reason I gave this 3 out of 5 is noisy. The wall was not sound-proof so noisy guests got on my nerves. I stayed there for 3 nights, and the worst was on the 3rd night. The guests next to my room was having sort of party from 8pm until 12.30am. It was horrible! I saw the security walked on the floor but he said nothing :/ There is something need to be done about this. Other than that, I had a lovely experience. The hotel is near to the SM Mall and an amusement park. The area was safe and we could walk around freely. Wifi was excellent and there was a restaurant at the ground floor. The room was clean. The staff was really friendly and smiled all the time. I don't recommend this hotel for guests with more than 4 because the room might be small for them. For business and short stay, yes, I would recommend it.
Rooms are comfortable. Service is little delayed. The reception staff is not much responsive as they have standard replies to all your queries which is "We Will Check".
My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It was booked by the organizers of the conference we attended. This is very basic hotel. The pictures are are better than reality. The room looked tired and sad. We asked for a king size bed but they only had available double queen beds, which were too small for us to sleep together. The air conditioner gets the room cold really fast but is a bit noisy. The walls are extremely thin, you can hear people passing by the corridors, opening & closing doors. They don't provide bottled water but there is a disperser and ice machine at the corridor, and a glass bottle & ice bucket in the room. You just need to refil. There's a safe and hair dryer. The toilet has a rain shower but there's not much pressure and getting the right temperature is tricky. They offer amenities like shampoo, soap and tooth brush, for slippers you need to call reception. We ordered pasta from diner and it was fast and tasty. The breakfast is good, choices of hot dishes, fruits, breads, juices (all super artificial and extremely sweet). The hotel is opposite to the Conrad, which you need to go around to get to Mall of Asia, 5-7 minutes walk.
I checked in last Nov 2016 by myself and had rated this hotel as 5 .my view room and food were great but when I came back with the whole family July 2017 they gave us a queen bedroom with a bunk beds for the kids .small room and the street view. Breakfast was terrible and the service was not the best.
Poor business hotel living off its location so its full anyway whatever the customers think of the hotel, no room service, no laundry, poor performance of staff, terrible internet, elevators was fast though. never again
Room was okay however room service is not available anytime. We need to wait by 6pm before we can order. For business travelers who dont have the time to go down to their restaurant and finish their work in the room, its inconvenient and irritating not be able to order food in the room.
I give them 5 stars hotel quality. Staff are polite and helpful, Hotel is clean. very convenient. Next to mall. Plenty of Restaurants around.
We booked 3 double-bed rooms for 1 night as we were passing through. On checking in, the hotel had us as reserved for 5 rooms. The staff immediately cleared that up. We had rooms on the 4th, 5th and 9th floor. Ours was the 9th floor corner room overlooking the bay and the amusement park. The hotel is just across the street from the mall. The beds were extremely comfortable, wifii, ac, tv were adequate, there was complimentary bottled water and coffee, and the shower/toilet area and towels/amenities were gratifying. Part of our group left for an early flight and thereby missed the breakfast, so the staff arranged for a box lunch breakfast with fruit and coffee for them and delivered it up at 2 AM. There were plenty of staff members around to help, unlike many hotels. Although we stayed only 1 night, we will definitely make the Microtel at Mall of Asia our go to hotel in Manila!
I have stayed in Microtel in many of its location (Davao, Cebu (now BE Hotel), Baguio, and recently in the Mall of Asia (Manila)) and I can say that the vibe, rooms, and service is the same. At Microtel, the beds are chiropractic (?) which makes my sleeping also comfortable since I have some back and neck problems. Price ranged is mid-range, and rooms and toilets are clean.
