Stayed in the night before we was set to fly from Manchester. The hotel had a lovely lady working on reception. The rooms were in need of tlc and deffo new mattresses as they wasn’t very comfy at all so not a good night sleep . This hotel has great potential though . I would use again but only if it had a freshen up and better mattresses if I was to use for more than one night but just for a 1 night stay deffo needs comfortable mattresses.
We stayed here for 12 hours as it was marketed as a cheap airport hotel, however even pennies is too much to pay to stay here. After being greeted by a rude receptionist, we were shown to a very small room with a broken window, mould in the corner and a bed with food on the bedsheets. There was no wifi anywhere in the hotel despite the website saying it was available in the lobby, and the television was at least 30 years old, got on channel and only half of the screen worked. We left at 4am to get to the airport and after booking a taxi through the hotel, and double checking it was on its way when we were in the lobby at 4am, we had to end up calling our own at 4.30 due to it not showing up. Truly horrific, never again.
No words to describe this trash!!!!!!!! Disgusting can’t believe they call it a hotel mouldy food mouldy corridors mouldy rooms , windows ,shower you name it !!!! Do not stay here it needs to be closed down disgusting vile place !!!!! No words describe it
Stayed here for one night and that was one night to many for us.! Threadbare carpets that were filthy, the whole place stunk of smoke !had to sleep with the window which we had to prop open all night because of the smell. The bathroom was dirty and grubby with hairs on the floor.! It is the most disgusting hotel we have ever stayed in . II would tell anyone to steer clear.
Had to look for the hotel as it's not well advertised on the main road. Hotel staff were very friendly and polite. The hotel it self is disgusting. Holes in the walls along the corridors. The bedroom heating does not work. Cracks in bedroom walls . Holes in the doors. As for the lift you had to walk up a flight of stairs to access it, so if you are disabled or have mobility problems you are in trouble. If lucky could get 2 people in and suitcases. Hale is a lovely upmarket place but you could never tell by the state of this place.
Disgusting, grubby, dirty and the corridor stank of smoke. This hotel is far from tired it needs knocking down and rebuilding. Was there anything I liked about it? Absolutely not!! This is a shame as it's in a great area lots of great bar's and restaurants. This place is more like cheap motel for vagrants than a hotel.
Location was fine but the hotel in desperate need of refurbishment. Carpets stained, furniture came out of the Ark and beds not comfortable. Bathrooms definitely need TLC. Stayed in 2 of the rooms and the one on the 3rd floor was dreadful. Little bit of improvement in 1st floor room. No use for anyone with disabilities, you have to struggle up the stairs to get to the lift and no-one available to help carry your luggage up the stairs. Entering the hotel you have to go down stairs to get to the reception. Would never stay there again.
booked at last minute checked in and out without taking in luggage the people who write positive reviews about this dive must either be employees or paid or both the residents of Hale should actually get rid as it must bring their property values down
I last stayed at the Ashley in 2006 and it was awful then. Then when I was struggling to find a hotel for one night last month, this was the only option available. I thought that it might have improved, let's give it a try. Well it hasn't., in fact it is 11 years messier. The carpets are worn, the bed linen is grey, The public areas need a vac and the breakfast is diabolical - couldn't cut the fried egg! You can just about see through the dirty windows to a flat roof of the shops below and it is covered in junk - old towel, broken TV aerial etc. After checking out I tried the public toilets - whoops no paper.
Good value for money. Great nights sleep clean comfy bed. Bathroom spotless. Friendly staff.Tv/hairdryer worked fine. Sealed glass unit, no window opening,thank goodness for the fan. Would visit again but would ask for room with opening window. Overall, 7/10;
