Staff displayed a good level of customer service throughout our stay. Breakfast was very good, and up to the usual high standard of Holiday Inn Express inclusive breakfasts. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed overnight for work purposes, very reasonably priced and staff were all polite and helpful. Centrally located for Bolton town centre and parking included. Room was a little bit dated but comfortable and a decent size. Shower was very hot and powerful. Evening meal and breakfast were both nice and also well-priced. Noisy people above me interrupted my sleep a few times which was annoying, but overall a good value and good quality hotel for an overnight stay.

Good location, parking fine and free, rooms very dated (I was upgraded to an exec room, dread to think what a normal one is like!) Restaurant is massively overpriced but food okay. However, ordered the salmon and assumed it came with new potatoes as I wasn't asked what I wanted as a potato dish. It came out with chips. Chips. Salmon and chips?! Who on earth eats salmon and chips? May return, but not for the salmon and chips!

At first, the idea of the wedding and the reception all taking place in the hotel seemed a little odd. That is until you turn up and notice that the hotel is attached to an old church. We went up to our room first and settled in. It was a generous sized room and the en-suite more than adequate too. The view from the window was that of a building site but not much the hotel could do about that and it will not be like that forever either. We then went to have a look at the venue where the wedding was due to take place the following day. I have to say I was very impressed too. They have kept all the character of the old church (but not the cold ) and it makes a most beautiful venue for the service and later the reception. The food that evening was very nice but the prices of the drinks was quite high. That said, no more than one expects in such a hotel. Breakfast next morning was a self service buffet and very nice it was too. You could order an omelette if preferred which we did on our second morning and this was served piping hot and was delicious. As for the wedding, it would have been magical wherever it was held but the venue did add to it. The area between the hotel and the church has been very well thought out and you do not have to go outside to get from one to the other. Overall, a wonderful experience and a little hidden gem of a venue. Well done to the Holiday Inn as I have not seen such a venue before. O

Stayed here for one night whilst visiting Bolton for an event. Small carpark which is free for guests, check in quick and receptionist very friendly. 1st floor Room was clean and had all usual stuff ie hairdryer, toiletries etc. I had seen on other reviews that the hotel does weddings and there was one during our Saturday stay. When we got back to hotel around 11:30pm it was in full swing, back in our room it was as if we were at the party the noise was so loud. Think the music got switched down around 12:30am. Not great if you need some sleep. Breakfast is hectic but there is a good choice of food. Maybe better to have breakfast in the room which is an option. Check out quick and again friendly receptionist. Would use again but maybe ask for higher floor if wedding is going on

Wasn’t sure of check in time so attempted check in at 2.30 and was told to come back at 3. Came back at 3.20 only to be told room still not ready so they would find me another room despite the fact I’d made a specific room request. Shocked that rooms not ready for check in. Room very dated. It was like going back 20 years. Bed very small compared to other budget hotels. Bathroom was awful. Old bath that looked dirty despite the fact it was clean. There was a shower attached to wall which didn’t work and a shower head attached to taps which you had to hold as no fitting for it on wall. Very poor water pressure. Bathroom fan going all night no idea how this could be switched off. Bar very expensive £11 for two bottles of cider. Staff quite miserable. Don’t expect any conversation. Breakfast ok.

Room shabby (not chic), lumpy bed and smelly shower curtain. On the plus side, food really good, room a decent size and best of all was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They couldn't have been better and made this rating a 3 rather than a 2. Come on, Mr Holiday Inn, give those lovely staff of yours a nicer place to work!

Came for a wedding and wow what a beautiful venue. A converted church makes any event here a special one. Really striking. Food was good and bar service was good too (usually wait ages to be served at a wedding).

Stayed for 2 nights for business use. As was tired decided to eat in the restaurant with colleagues. It was a horrid experience. There was not enough staff, too long to order, then told that things have run out. It then took over an hour for the food to arrive and then they were not sure of dietary requirements. Gave the wrong food to my colleague who would have had a anaphylactic reaction if he had not noticed. We were then told dessert was on the house but the money had already been paid before. Rooms are also average - booked into executive room but no different from ordinary rooms other than a small hamper. Very poor experience.

I stayed here for one night on a very rainy Sunday in September for work with 3 colleagues. The staff were all very friendly, but the room was pretty tired, and not super clean either - a few hairs remained in the bathroom, and there was no plughole in the sink. Breakfast was fine, but nothing to write home about. I would also have appreciated there being some decaff tea - not necessarily in the room, but at least behind the bar when we sat down for drinks.
