The hotel was a few minutes from the airport and the shuttle service was excellent. Most of the staff were lovely...two exceptions. When I wanted to check in at 2:00 (versus 3:00), I was told rather rudely, that I could but there would be a 10 pound charge to do so. When I sweetly mentioned that, that would look nice on the online review, she said I could check in a half hour early. Also, there really was no place to eat except at the hotel. The service was not good and the food was overpriced, small portions, but adequate quality.Breakfast was not included in the price. Also, the room was not quite as clean as I would have liked (e.g., stained carpet, a chair also stained, dusty table.) Still, for one night, by the airport...it's not a bad choice.

I chose to stay here on my last night in U.K. to be near the airport before flying back to the states on a morning flight. Since there is train and bus service to the airport the hotel is very easy to get to by public transportation which is what I was using. The hotel has a shuttle to from the airport that runs 24/7 and is at most a 5 minute ride. The hotel was spotless, the staff courteous and helpful, room was very large with all the amenities; refridge coffee/tea, cable T.V., internet, trouser press, large bathroom and separate sitting area. I enjoyed a very nice dinner in the restaurant. So for me it made departure stress free and took the worry out of having to be at the airport 3 hours prior to flight. The hotel offered a breakfast buffet as well. I felt this hotel was a very good value and would certainly recommend it.

Stayed here one night before our early flight. Convenient, easy shuttle service to airport (5 minute ride to airport). Small-ish room, but fine for the one night. Shuttle service also available to/from train station (also 5 minutes away).

With the 40% discount and breakfast included, the price is unbelieveable worth it. The room is very, very clean.

Checked in at the Manchester Airport Hilton, but had problems as the confirmation was backwards [...]. I hope someone reads this from Hilton [...] and gets this resolved for the next person. The lobby by the lifts reeked of smoke as it was next to the stair well exit and i am assuming that is where staff and others must go to have a smoke. The first room they had used a dirty mop in cleaning the bathroom and it smelled, and the second room was right next to and under the lift machinery so it was too loud, but the third room was just right. The internet is not free, so I hope they can have this fixed as their competition has a five storey sign that promotes free wifi and breakfast (also not included at the Hilton) that can be seen by anyone looking out their window. The concierge was wonderful with a recommendation on a local country pub so i guess that can make up for a lot.

I was here overnighting as my flight to Chicago required early check in. Everything was fine with the hotel BUT there was no wireless service at all. Having stayed the previous two nights in a room above a pub in West Yorkshire WITH wireless, I can only assume larger hotels not offering it are just gouging. Otherwise fine though, staff are polite, location cannot be beaten. Decent food and beer.

It took 21/2 hours for the staff to prepare my room, despite their having been advised in advance that I would be arriving mid-morning off a trans-Atlantic flight. Has the staff of an airport hotel not understood yet that flights from America arrive in the early to mid-morning? Finally, when my room was ready, there was no toilet paper provided. I had to call housekeeping. The comedy of errors continued as no less than two individuals delivered two packages of toilet paper independently. Apart from all of this, the hotel looks and feels shabby and run-down - not what one expects from a first-class hotel!

I am not a complainer under normal circumstances however... - window was open when I checked in - apparently in attempt to mask sour mop smell of room - must be a moisture problem - TV remote was broken - worked about half the time - at 1:15am all bedlam broke loose in the room above - stomping and door slamming that went on for the better part of an hour - didn't bother calling the desk as I had to get up at 3:30am to catch my plane - no wash cloths in bathroom

The staff seemed unknowledgeable. The front desk staff was unable to complete the booking, and the restaurant staff seemed confused at all levels. Several people received the wrong meals, as did we. We received two different menus as well. The food tasted good, when we did, finally get the correct items. Rooms were nice and clean

Staff was very nice and had no trouble with anyone on a personal level. If there are complaints to be made then they would have to be directed at the management organization who runs the place and possibly has a detachment to the general public and processes. Location is convenient to the Manchester airport and is a very nice hotel but I am irked with the lack of free wireless access in the hotel and any wireless access in the rooms. Am also irked with the ten dollar charge for overnight parking and the charges for local calls from the room. Can you say nickel and dime you to death. During our holiday we also stayed at a remote hotel in a location that was also a horse farm with an incredible view of the peaks in the lake district, yup, they went the extra 6 inches(not a mile)and had free wi-fi, free parking and excellent service. Now that place I look forward to writing a letter of thanks to the staff for the personal way of dealing with us and would recommend to friends in second. HELLO..... ARE YOU LISTENING?

No visible shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Meals and drinks very expensive, with few options for dining.

Service and quality of restaurant was poor. Waited over an hour for a bowl of soup. Room was hot, and air conditioning was inadequate. Not enough towels for number of occupants. We had to ask twice for another towel, and it took 2 hours for them to bring one to the room.

Refridgerator was broken, unable to open. Lightbulb began to smolder when turned on. Toilet did not flush consistantly. Bath tub access panel was askew.Staff was not friendly. Meals were costly. Recreation was absent. Shuttle staff excellant.

room was average for that class of hotel. It was fairly quiet for being at the airport so we did get a good nights sleep. The shuttle to the terminals were frequent and friendly. Dining was available but limited and expensive

Hotel is a very nice Airport Hotel although there are no driving directions from the airport rental car. Yes, I know, now, that it's close, but a directional sign near the exit of the parking garage would help especially when one is a weary driver coming from the continent and driving on the left-hand side of the road. Otherwise hotel check-in was great, room was lovely as was the breakfast buffet. Late night bar service was a bit slow. They had a refrigerator in the room with NO mini-bar. Didn't get to use the spa facilities. I would stay here again.

I had an early flight out of Manchester Airport (to Dublin and onward to JFK). I checked in during the serious snow storms on January 5th, 2010 (came in by train). The courtesy van took a little while according to other customers, who had been waiting over 30 minutes. I waited less then 15, and given the amount of snow and ice it was a miracle it came at all. The hotel is fine, due to my HHonors status I was upgraded to a deluxe room, and I used the concierge service to send a package. He told me FedEx was going to charge me well over GBP 100, whereas the same service could be had from Royal Mail for around GBP 10. I ate in the restaurant (buffet style, and fixed price for 2 or 3 courses). I had a very nice halibut and enjoyed the deserts. Recommended hotel if you have to stay over at the airport. (You can easily reach Manchester City by train in 20 minutes)

Excellent

The only minor problem was that the staff was not aware that we had prepaid for the room and that we were to receive a complimentary buffet breakfast. Also the dining room didn't have knowledge that we had swiped our credit card at the front desk. Otherwise staff was very courteous.
