This hotel is a throw back to the seventies, and is desperately in need of an overhaul. The carpets are thread bare, the rooms are very basic. My room wasn't even made up the whole week I was there. The breakfast when served is self serving and is barely warm. Definitely a working mans hotel
We stayed here for just one night before our flight which was ok. check in/out was very quick a nice receptionist was there on the friday evening to help us The room was very dated but we had a fan for the heat which was great the bathroom was ok but the floor was really bouncy by the loo and i was afraid to use it fearing the floor was giving way other than that it was ok We used the sister hotel for the parking which was ok loads of parking spaces and car was fine the bus transfer was ok going to the airport but on the way back it was a joke you have to phone up and go to the drop of point for your pick up which was only two minutes away but the drivers were just taking anyone we were first in the queue and ended up waiting an hour for our taxi then they tried to put 2 couples in one normal size car with 4 cases and hand luggage so we then had to wait for another taxi after waiting a hour it was a JOKE we will never use or stay with this company again after a 27 hour flight delay we just wanted to get home not be messed around.
Hotel booked via A1 travel, we wanted somewhere to stay overnight & park the car for a few days. Only to be told when booking in at the hotel that we'd have to drive the car the next morning to Britannia Country Park Hotel and park the car there & get the transfer bus from this point to the airport!, Anyway staff at the hotel booked us into the Britannia Park & Country Hotel and we stayed there for the night. Staff were helpful & lucky that they could accommodate are request.
I stayed here when flying from manchester airport, yes hotel is dated but location is perfect.beds clean and hot water, for what you pay that's all I want! I've booked again and will everytime i go on holiday so can't be that bad
Dont read the reviews ...it isnt that bad Stayed for 5 nights, receptionist(s) were helpful, our room (345) had flat screen TV, 2 remotes that dont work, no batteries, even with they didnt, but side of TV controls did.. great bathroom, great breakfast for working men, Sainsbury Local, Martins, and Tesco Express in 3 mins walk, car park free from 6pm to 8am, not suitable for disabled.. 8 stairs to lift, but you would know that if you researched it. For the Money... I dont pay.. my company books my rooms, I was happy with the room and location, and service! there is a take-away 5 mins up street with good food For workers I would rate this hotel ...no wifi unless in bar area... Again... dont think all the other reviews fully rate this Hotel for what it is... I found it to be quite adequate for what my company paid..maybe some of the rooms are otherwise, but I review my experience in 345 which was clean and acceptable
Stayed here overnight to catch an early flight from Manchester. The hotel is outdated granted and the bed was a bit harder than I would have liked, could have done with a more updated TV that had better aria too but was clean and the room was warm. Staff were friendly and booked us a taxi for the morning.
Been in some bad uk hotels but this one really sucks. Location for airport is OK but at £10 cheaper than the big chains, trust me when I say pay the extra tenner. On arrival, receptionist was very pleasant but that was the only thing about reception I can say good. The foyer is depressing and uncared for. A drink in the bar was cheap enough but when handed a glass it was disgusting. Never seen a bar glass that dirty, even before washing! The lift, good God. I think this place was formerly a student union. Graffiti scratched into the door and felt it was only the grace of God that lifted it to the first floor. The room was reasonably clean, but nothing in there was this century. The spring mattress made a huge being sound when you moved. The TV was a 1980s crt thing with snowy reception. The soap didn't work (first time I have ever seen that!) Worst though was the half finished beer glass outside the door. Wasn't sure the previous tenant hadn't yet left. Either the housekeeping staff had the day off or this place rents rooms by the hour. Really, if you're in the area look elsewhere
Clean bed, furniture tatty, bathroom was not good, plug stuck in the sink so water wouldn't drain and shower curtain would not fix to the wall. Worst is the fire alarm went off 3 times in the night. Nobody told us it was a false alarm. No clean cutlery or plates for breakfast. Nobody apologised at reception when we booked out for the night before. On the way out there is a picture of a naked woman playing with herself which I'm sure I want my kids to see. Stay here if you want a terrible night.
Reception staff friendly enough room clean but cold. Stairs rickety ok for one night. Disconcerting that only the receptionist could open my room with the key on the outside. Would not go again in a hurry
Don't do it!!! Don't book. Horrible cheap and nasty place. Breakfast awful. Bar awful and reception least said the better. Bed clean. Had to give it a one as won't go lower. Unless you cannot afford the extra 10/20 for a better hotel I would never ever book this again. We had card payment compromised and it's the only place card was used at so.........
