Had a reservation at this place through France Tourisme on our one day trip to Mont Saint Michel. We missed our reservation time as we got held up in the chapel. When we went there, it was crowded. The main hostess was unfriendly and rude because we missed our reservation time. Service is also very slow. Food was above average. This is not the right place if you have time crunch or have to catch a bus. Many other restaurants looked nice, wish we had not pre paid and booked this place!!

In over 450 reviews, I have never had the need ( or felt it appropriate) to rate an establishment a one star - until yesterday at Les Terasses Poulard at Mont Michel. And it was thanks to the shocking rudeness and attitude from a senior member of staff - Laetitia. Laetitia greeted us on arrival and took us to our table - that's where it started. There were two tables that had been pushed together and apparently my wife sat on the wrong side - this resulted in a tirade from Laetitia. We chalked it up to an expectant and looked at our menus. Nobody came to take the order and after about 20 minutes we managed to flag a waitress, Chloe, down who took our order ( we did the complete order, including drinks, starters, mains and desserts). After receiving our drinks, and after a long break, we received our starters. After about 30 minutes, nobody had cleared our starter plates ( I had had oysters and by this time the ice was melting over the table) and so we picked up the plates and placed them on a neighboring table which was empty - this is where the second tirade began. Laetitia asked whether they were our plates and when we said yes, she started shouting at us ( some of which didn't make sense ie " I don't work in the kitchen .."). Laetitia then at the top of her voice told her story to other waitresses and a waiter. She even involved patrons seated near us. It was a thoroughly unpleasant experience, all because of Laetitia's rudeness and attitude. On the positive side, the food ( when it finally arrived) was not bad. There are a number of sit down restaurants on the main " road " and I suggest you try elsewhere.

Because there is only a limited number of hotels within the Mont and there is only so much space within the Mont, I think this is a really good hotel. It has been newly renovated, and everything is brand new. The stairs is quite steep so I don't recommend anybody taking a suitcase with them unless it's necessary. I had an attic room with a view and it's gorgeous.

The food that we had was good, nothing really exciting except the omelettes. For my taste, the fish was a bit dry and a bit more sauce could have been good. Deserts were very nice. Very busy so make sure to arrive around 12.

The room was up the stairs a little ways, but we only had our backpacks and cameras so it was not bad, cute room, cozy and had bathtub, great for a soak after all the stairs, bed was very comfortable and they had extra blankets also, it was a dream, internet did not work. check in was a breeze and very nicely taken care of. and go to abby early right when it opens before the bus loads of people get there.

Stairs, stairs and more stairs! But seriously, can there ever be too many?! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here once we found the teeny tiny little office to check in. The hotel has several different locations and ours was at the top of, you guessed it, more stairs! There are no elevators in the building we were in which wasn't a problem because we packed light. We parked our car on the mainland side in the parking lot overnight and took the shuttle to the island. We took only what was needed for the night and left the rest in the car. We had a small terrace, could see the abbey out our window and were awakened by the songs of birds. We would stay here again and hope to return again soon!

Situated inside the wall of the Abbey every square inch of the walls are covered in memorabilia depicted in posters of their very famous guests. We had a room on the top floor overlooking the bay. We had to climb the stairs to the hotel lobby, then stairs to our building, then up to the 3rd floor. All carrying your own suitcase or bag (so leave your suitcase in the car and pack light if you overnite on the island). I am not complaining, just warning. Our room was small and very clean, but certainly not as special as they advertise on their website. The real picture is a dated, typical European room with a great view and the Medieval experience of staying inside the Abbey walls at night. The website makes the rooms look luxourious...they are not. Also only one person at the desk, checking in and out. Very pleasant staff, but expect to wait in the tiny waiting room, unless you get lucky.

It is my first time in Brittany. Stayed in this hotel for 1 night from 2nd march-3rd march. Had a lovely stay in here. One thing that impressed me the most was the room i was living was an attic room. After all my hometown Singapore does not even have any room with attics. It is definitely my first time living in a room that is on an attic. The windows of the rooms were perfect as you see the whole entire view of the abbey especially if you are lazy person and just want to rest up in the mountain. The only setback was don't expect any shops to be open after 7pm as most of the shops in here closes very early. Not like other countries where they work till 10.30pm late in the nights

This charming hotel on Mont-Saint-Michel is normally pretty pricey, but I snagged a very good bargain in March, when there are few tourists on the island, and treated my husband to a Million Dollar View for his birthday. Sitting in our room, with the huge window thrown open to the sea, and watching the sunset as we sipped our wine...Best birthday present ever! Go to this island in winter or early spring, before the hoards arrive and get the chambre on the second floor. Worth every penny.

This is a great place to stay if you decide to stay on the island after dark. The room price is not bad for the area. The only draw back is you better drink and eat early if staying on the island because everything closes early.
