The Victoria Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

Annoying noise starts from 5am and stops only late evening. Management should stay and sleep in room 713 to check for themselves. It is not acceptable. I m sure it comes from the roof pool. Breakfast could be improved, but acceptable. Bed mattress to soft and nothing for people with back problems. Location is good: not to far from the spots, and not to busy around the hotel.
The hotel is situated in a good location, with excellent facilities. The food in the restaurant was very good and the roof top pool was amazing. But by far the best thing about this hotel is the staff and their willingness to go the extra mile. My husband was rushed into hospital half way through our holiday and the kindness and practical help shown to us by the staff in particular Karl and Eleanor on reception was fantastic. We will be returning next year to finish our holiday. Julie & Anthony Bayley
I have stayed with The Victoria on many happy family holidays and recently visited with my partner. The hotel facilities shared with The Palace are excellent with various areas to sit in, swim or exercise. There is something for everyone. It is relaxing and clean. The staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly and they offer a five star service. Special thank you to Charles and Karl on reception. Will be going back for sure.
This was our second time at the Victoria and it was even better than the last. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and the bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. We did not eat in the main restaurant but did use the Black Penny pub several times where Alfred looked after us very well and the food was excellent, All the staff did a great job and were always happy to do their very best to help as much as possible. One negative was that the sunbeds were uncomfortable, but i requested a mattress and was found one immediately. The pool area was very crowded as it was shared with the Palace hotel next door, but the pool staff were excellent and it was extremely clean and tidy. Although we will highly recommend this hotel we will not be returning as it is just too far from the town and is a bit of a climb from the shops and restaurants.
ALL THE STAFF ARE BRILLIANT. At the moment I have alopecia and have very patchy hair so decided to buzz cut it off for my holiday. Every member of staff treated me with dignity and all the guests let me relax and i returned home re-energised. We stayed on floor 7 with the larger balconies (a lot more space than many of the other balconies) and a view of the sea. The room was a nice size with working ac. There is a small fridge that we used to stock up with salads and cans of Cisk the local larger. The shower was lovely - we didn't use the bath. Toiletries were provided free but the shampoo & conditioner was in one bottle (I prefer separate) I was disappointed that there was no moisturiser supplied. The room safe costs €2 per day (I paid a lot for the accommodation and there were bits that was not included that I assumed would be provided and be part of the price.) Fresh fluffy towels are provided for the well kept pools. All 3 pools are set in good positions with an excellent amount of shade if that's what you need. We stayed with very hot weather and the shade was appreciated. The pool / bar staff are all friendly and remember previous orders which gives a personal service. Local transport is easy to get with bus and ferries just minutes away.
Just returned from our vacation in The Victoria hotel - this is really amazing and the best 4 star hotel I have ever been to. I liked everything - the interior of rooms and the hotel. The room is spacious, clean and really beautiful. We got the room number 211, so it was on a second floor, so window view was nothing - just another building but we came to Malta not to stare from the window all the day so for us it was not a problem. If it will be a problem for you - try to ask for upper floor. We also got spacious balcony in this room. The room has everything you may need, the bed is comfortable but we asked for a king size bed but got two separate just attached one to another, so it was not so comfortable as it may be if it is one king size, but the hotel was fully booked so I guess they simply run out such king size matrasses. The hotel has shared facilities with 5 star the Palace hotel - the inside and outside pools and gym. Both are fantastic. We got B&B, the breakfast was superb with plenty of choice - they cook the omelette and eggs in front of you + there is a very tasty buffet. The only thing - coffee could be better. we also tried food from pool bar and a pub on the first floor, everything was tasty. The stuff are welcoming and friendly. We got late check out at 23 p.m. and asked to prolong the room unfortinately they were fully booked, but allowed us to stay till 13 p.m. (one extra hour) and after to use all hotel facilities till our check out, so we used the gym and a pool and did not feel uncomfortable. I highly recommend this hotel, this is the best 4 star in Malta I guess. If we with a husband go to vacation/ or he will go for business to Malta some day, we will definitely stay there.
Every year we come back to the wonderfully warm welcome provided by the Victoria's staff, and to find they keep making improvements where they can. Now breakfast has seen big improvements, lobby and bar have received some upgrades. Most important to us though is that feeling being welcomed by friends!
I traveled to Malta to attend a wedding, so stayed here for 5 nights with my partner. Two of my friends both also stayed here with their partners. We all had a great time! We spent a lot of time lying by the rooftop pool drinking beer and cosmos! The food by the pool was great too. The location was perfect for day trips. We spent a day on the Captain Morgan boat trip, and took the ferry to Valletta, from just a short walk away from the hotel. There are lots of nice restaurants and bars in Sliema, and St Juliens is only a short walk away. The breakfast was pretty good too, including an egg chef! I would absolutely stay here again, and would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Malta!
We had a nightmare stay when refurb was happening in December but management very kindly offered us complimentary nights which we added some as well and have just returned, we had a great stay, room was lovely and spacious, absolutely spotless throughout the hotel, staff as friendly as ever, we are so glad we went back and would definitely be returning, thankyou to everyone in the Victoria
Uncomfortable old mattresses, two single beds pushed together with a top sheet that didn't actually fit, terrible and ridiculously over priced food for dinner (I've had better school dinners), the top floor pool is shared with the hotel next door. The staff were friendly and attentive and the location is OK. The view from the top floor is impressive. Don't be fooled by the decor. They might have pretty cushions but the basics aren't up to scratch.
