We stayed here for a week while visiting our son. While the location is not right on the water, it is near the water front, lots of restaurants, bars, bus stops and shopping. We found it very easy to get around. Most importantly the hotel is excellent. The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms are very comfortable, fantastic beds and pillows, nice bathrooms. They also have blue night lights that we really liked. The breakfasts were very good, with lots of variety, and they also offer excellent cappuccinos. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back.
The hotel is modern, well run and relatively quiet given its position in busy St Julian. The staff are really helpful and polite. A great range of options for breakfast - all good quality - coffer bar for expresso and cappucino a plus. Dining area is less spacious than we would have liked. Good communal lounge areas with books to read, outdoor seating, and desks for those who want to browse their computer etc. Good bar with friendly staff. Bedrooms rooms are very clean and airy, bathrooms small but nice. The terrace and pool area looks lovely - but NOTE - it's not open until 1st April each year which you dont see if you book via expedia etc.
The staff is top-notch here, and very accommodating. When our first room was too loud from a nearby music bar, they immediately relocated us to a quieter room. When the bed felt too hard, softening pads were added. The breakfast is outstanding, many different meats, cheeses, fruits, yogurt and bread with delicious hot coffee. The location is close to the bus into the city. Walk to nearby charming boat harbor with walking promenade and character-filled fisherman & Maltese boats.
We stayed here for 4 nights in March. It was a good hotel - very clean, stylish and close to the sights. A big plus was the parking as we hired a car. As soon as we arrived they gave us a welcome drink which was a nice touch. The main negative was the fact that the conditioner/body lotion in the bathroom was never replaced and they only left one vanity set/toothbrush etc when there were 2 of us. Breakfast was also good, but was let down by the fact that there were only 2 coffee options - latte and espresso. We had a pleasant stay overall, thank you.
Could not fault this hotel at all. Very clean and comfortable. The staff were very efficient and could not do enough for you. Very good selection of food for breakfast. Would highly recommend if you want to stay in St Julian's.
What can I say, we got to the hotel around 10pm on Tuesday 20th Feb and in all honestly it blew me away, mainly because it is a 3 star hotel and my expectation was low. I have no idea how this hotel is a 3 star, it should be a 4 star! The reception checked us in very quickly and he was very friendly. I requested a room high up which they honored, we were given room 521, as soon as we stepped in, the room was lovely, decent in size and everything was very clean. The bathroom and toilets were separate which was a bonus and the tv had numerous channels. We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and did go to have breakfast a few times, the breakfast buffet was great much better than some 5 star hotels I have been to, there was a lot of variety and the chef was really friendly. Also the rooms were cleaned spotless every day when we were out…again not sure how they are given a 3 star rating. Now coming to the location of the hotel, location is perfect everything is close by, numerous places to eat too. It's kind of like the central London equivalent of Malta. We took a bus to Valetta, the bust stop was a 2 mins walk from the hotel and the journey was about 30-40mins on the bus. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Malta, it's about a 30 minute cab ride from the airport and the area is really safe.
Beautiful hotel. Great location. Lovely staff. Clean rooms. Good breakfast. Unfortunately the pool was being upgraded while we were there but we went up and what we saw looked lovely. I would definitely stay again if I were to revisit Malta!
The hotel is very well located to explore the island with very close public transport links and great access to a wide variety of restaurants and bars. Very clean, modern and comfortable hotel but noisy at night with bars at front and rear particularly weekends. In march was not too busy in terms of restaurants but can see during the summer being extremely busy and noisy. If you are a night owl like late dinning and drinks this is a great hotel. You can easily jump on bus to Valetta or other island destinations. Staff are super friendly and professional and breakfast is very good and varied, something for everyone. Booking direct you get great offers on airport transfers and services. Note no air conditioning until summer so if it is hot in march/apr you need to use the ceiling fan instead. Overall great experience, very clean, good location and friendly staff.
We just came back from our one week trip in Malta. Although we certainly wish that the weather had been a bit warmer, the hotel was literally impeccable in almost all aspects. From the hospitality and kindness of receptionists and the welcome drinks (we opted for sangria), impeccably clean rooms and bathrooms, lastly but most importantly, the dizzying variety of dishes at each breakfast, which made us miserably fail at reducing our weights. Personally, I liked two kinds of Maltese breads filled with cheese and peas and decent desserts provided during each breakfast. As far as my experience goes, Hotel Valentina offers the best breakfast among all hotels in various countries I have ever stayed. The only thing I did not like about the hotel was its location where you can't really have any sort of sea views even though we were well aware of this in advance. For future travelers, I recommend you to visit Malta during Easter holidays (early April) if the temperature happens to be above 20 Celsius in a constant manner because we could easily observe precursors of the chaotic situations in summer holidays in Malta just from the insufficient number of buses and their lack of punctuality in late February to early March. As far as I can recall, we had to wait for buses for more than one hour on several occasions (3-4) and, more often than not, many buses were carrying more passengers than their capacities during our trip in Malta, even at this time of the year.
Great looking hotel amenities, the rooms are clean, and the staff is very friendly and very helpful. located at the heart of Saint Julian, restaurants are at short walking distance and just located 20min from the airport.
