Dolmen Resort Hotel is at the beautiful location with amazing views from the sea view rooms. Upon my arrival, hotel staff was not helpful, to begin with. I got the room on the old side of the hotel with no aircon, the bathroom was horrible and the fridge didn't work and ants scrolling on my bed. I called reception and I was told someone will come to check Aircon. 40 mins no one turned up. already wasted my 4 hours on the first day going back and forth to the reception and complaining. Staff should have given basic information of where the lift is located what time the breakfast would be served. After all that I got moved into sea view room which was really nice but again the aircon was the issue in the heat. That time I asked for a Fan and yes I got it. Even thou all windows and balcony were shut. Aircon didn't work. The hotel is big there will lot of walking around involved and yes there is still construction going on. Amazing views. Hope everyone doesn't have to go through what I had to on my first day in Malta.

I was transferred to the Dolmen and was surprised that they where also painting and the stink is everywhere So if you are sensitive and don't want to breath in fumes I suggest you avoid it made me sick and had to leave early Also room service staff horrible reception lovely They tried to fob me off with a horrible room with city views and crinkled sheets and I refused so they put me in a nice room very lovely view great wireless Meals nice salads nothing special But very busy and noisy so not a quiet holiday by any means

Very friendly staff Eventually put me in a nice room as the other rooms over look a dirty town Food ok Not much choice The room service are miserable and rude and barge into your room Never smile the supervisor of room service needs training in customer service It's very busy and too much walking and the beach is not sandy

seems people have trouble with the aircon, but that only kicks in when balcony doors are closed it was fine for our stay. the staff were very helpful and polite , glad to say we went all inclusive because the food was superb . lovely view from our balcony watching the sunsets. all in all would go back like a shot. cant rate this hotel enough would give it 6 stars if possible.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. We had a room overlooking a building site but everyone cant have sea view. The breakfast was excellent and the pool areas were great. The hotel is still undergoing renovations and the reception area and bar area which barman told us was opened in January is very stark and cold looking lacking any warmth. The toiletries were very scarce. When checking out I was charged for 10 nights instead of 8 and luckily I had my booking.com booking form to prove I was only there 8 nights as another guy at counter at same time had problem with his bill.

Huge hotel located directly at the sea. Airco didn't work in our room (newly renovated) and had to ask 5 times to repair it. After a hot night with balcon doors open it finally got repaired. Bedsheets the other way around (with opening on top) on beds. Asked a few times for a quote to return later this year (with seaview room) but got higher price quoted then offered on the internet. Breakfast is very good but when you ask for een early breakfast because of daytrip you're just sitting in the restaurant with all the employees looking grumpy setting everything up. And you just get some toast because everything is not settled yet. Breakfast around 8:30 is very very busy. Would have rated the hotel higher when they were truly a 4 star hotel, but for now it isn't.

We're just home from a week at the Dolmen. The first night was pish as we were put in a room that was the longest ever walk to a hotel room I've ever had. The room had no air conditioning and the telephone didn't work which meant several trips back and fwd to the reception to try and sort it out, not great at midnight on the night we arrived. We ended up having to put up with the room for the first night with a promise of another room the next night The new room was great, nice view of the pool along the bay. Facilities are ok too. We chose to use the area across the road beside the sea which had everything you really need. The two pools looked good too. Indoor pool is ok. There is a jacuzzi but it's normal pool temperature, was expecting it a bit warmer. The restaurant is nice, breakfast has everything you need in the morning. Overall i gave it 4/5. Potential to be an amazing hotel but some improvements needed first

Stayed with my family in June, I was allocated a room with no balcony and very small and refused to accept it, so was allocated another with a balcony. The air conditioning is used sparingly, only on in rooms at certain times and was not very effective even on high, a bit disappointing when they advertise fully air conditioned hotel, but then ration the times it is on. The staff are lovely in the main, cannot do enough to help you. The hotel has seen some renovation work, but the standard is not high suggesting it was completed in a hurry as in my bathroom one side of the newly fitted door frame was several inches shorter than the other side. The food was good, with a good variety, the pools and rooms cleaned daily. The best thing about this hotel is the animation team, shaggy, James and Keira they are fantastic. They are warm, engaging, and certainly know how to get the best out of people. This hotel has a fantastic location with some nice facilities, but is overpriced and there are plenty of other hotels nearby offering better value for money.

We stayed for a week at this lovely hotel, with perks being the pools (one of which is very lively and the other is quite quiet with a stunning private beach nearby). Special mention has to go to the members of staff Shaggy and Kira who are very friendly and helpful. We paid for rooms with sea views and were situated on the top floor - we have to say they're absolutely worth it! Stunning scenery! (See picture below). The breakfast is always very lovely, with a full English and fresh fruit every day (however if you don't like your British breakfast you're a bit stuck with choices). Also the hotels location is great, within walking distance of the local dining places and shops, and lots to do within the area of you don't have a car. Unfortunately there were some things that the hotel lacked. When we arrived the hotel was having maintenance done all week, although we didn't hear any noise from our room it didn't look nice around the hotel and it was a little uneasy having people come in and out of our room to plaster our wall. Also, the gym is a little disappointing being no more than 2 treadmills and 2 bikes in a room (literally). The hotel also didn't warn us about any fire alarm drills and we had several during the week at different times of the day which was a bit uneasy (maybe a little mention would've been nice). And lastly we encountered some members of staff that weren't very polite, one of which was the security by the private back entrance who was demanding to see our room key (even though we're still young adults a little politeness and a 'please' never hurt anybody), and some ladies at the spa desk were quite forceful. However overall it was a lovely stay!

If you want a hotel that gives you everything then try this one. It is a big hotel but is well managed and helpful. It is in an ideal spot for the sea and the top of the island. Views St. Paul's island where St. Paul was shipwrecked, The island itself is full of history going back 7000 years and the islanders are very proud of the their history. I had it described to me that Malta if the "belly button" of the mediteranean and has been invaded so many times over the years that there is a little bit of all the North African and European countries evident in their history. The hotel is ideally placed to visit Gozo and the bus service is second to none with open air hop on hop off bus trips.
