Zafiro hotel in Ca'n Picafort is situated on the North eastern coast of Mallorca just down the coast from Alcudia. Set amongst beautiful lush gardens, the hotel goes to great lengths to ensure that you have a fantastic experience, from reception staff to cleaners, resturant/bar staff to the entertainment team, they all go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable, relaxing and value for money. The rooms are comfortable and clean with the maids ensuring your rooms are tidied and clean towels provided on a daily basis (there might have been a day off). The food is plentiful and varied, a lot of effort goes into presentation and there is enough variation to cater for the fussiest of individuals. Once a week you are entitled to eat at the a la carte restaurant once a week with the all inclusive package, the steak is absolutely delicious! There are plenty of activities throughout the day to keep the family entertained with kids clubs for toddlers to teens running in the morning and various activities around the pool daily. There are other activities like rifle or pistol shooting, archery, football for older children and adults to try. There are a large variety of beers, cocktails and soft drinks included in the package, believe me, we ate and drank very well during our two weeks there. There is a kids mini disco in the evening prior to a evening show, this was a two week rotation so you never had the same show twice. Most of the evening entertainment was enjoyable, perhaps one or two were a little ropey however the town with lots of bars and restaurants is only a short walk away. We didn't need to venture out much, only to visit the beach or to buy souvineers. The entertainment staff deserve a special mention, they work so hard for long hours yet still remain friendly, enthusiastic and energetic. Whilst I'm at it, the waiters also deserve a special mention as they too work very long hours and yet are friendly and efficient. Testament to this is the always full tip jars on the counter which for an all inclusive hotel shows how valued their service is. For the first time in my life I am inclined to return to the same resort in forthcoming holidays and I know I am not the only family to feel this way. There is a very tangible family vibe in this resort, if you are looking for a hard partying resort this is not for you, it is very family orientated. If you are looking for European all inclusive experience on par with those normally found in caribean holidays then look no further, just a couple of hours flying from London, this ticks every box!
We stayed here at the end of August with our two children aged 5 and 3. We wondered what to expect having stayed in some lovely 5* hotels in recent years but I can honestly say it didn't feel like a noticeable step down in star rating. Food: we were all inclusive and mainly ate at the buffet restaurant. There was always plenty of choice and even at lunch when the selection was a bit less there was still more than enough for both adults and children. The pool snack bar was nice for a change of scenery at lunch. Pools: fantastic choice of pools from the kids pirate splash pool to the inflatable dome pool to the deeper pool used for the aqua aerobics. On occasion we used the adults only pool for a serious swim and were mildly annoyed at adults using inflatables or playing ball games in there, I think that should be kept to the fun pools as there are plenty of them. It was no problem getting a sun lounger even in peak season but we did need to be out before 8am to get the loungers we preferred in view of the kids pool. Entertainment: the mini disco is great for the little ones and they were welcomed at the later shows as well as the entertainment staff brought out chairs and mats for the youngsters to sit on near the stage. Obviously if you prefer the kids to go to bed after the mini disco then this would not be for you. In general the shows were good with a couple of howlers thrown in, the shows are advertised a couple of days before so you can plan a walk out of the hotel if it's not to your taste. The resort: we'd heard mixed reviews of Ca'n Picafort but we were pleasantly surprised. It was a 15-20min walk to the beach which wasn't too bad considering we had the kids in tow and the 40 degree heat. The beach was pleasant and gently slopes into the sea. We walked out into the resort one evening and enjoyed the mini market/stalls of souvenirs, jewellery etc on the sea front as well as a couple of rides for the kids. There appeared to be plenty of bars and restaurants if you wanted to eat and drink out but we didn't bother due to the all inclusive. Everything else: I think the extra touches really made this holiday, the entertainment team did a mini disco in the shallow pool a few times a week as well as bringing out a long mat for the kids to run on in the pool. There was also t-shirt painting (an extra charge applied) in the kids club and the kids enjoyed going on stage to collect their finished t-shirts from Bufo at the disco. Other activities were arranged such as a short pony trek around the back of the hotel and motorised animals that could be ridden around in the evening. Overall it was a great holiday and we would definitely return.
Very nice hotel situated only a short walk from the beach. Nice apartments and a lovely garden. Very friendly staff. We willl recomend this hotel to all our friends and colleagues and to all other guests who appreciate a lovely view and a friendly staff!
I stayed at this hotel at the end of October with my husband and two teenage children. We had a lovely, relaxing time and thought the hotel was excellent. We were all inclusive which turned out very well as the food was fantastic with lots of choice, even my picky eater Daughter enjoyed it! The lunch at the pool bar was particularly nice with lovely fresh pizzas etc. We arrived in the middle of the night after a flight delay. I was worried there would be no food available at that time but there was an all night buffet which was a nice (and very welcome) touch. We had an interconnecting room which gave us loads of space with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living area and 2 kitchen areas. It was well maintained and spotlessly clean. I am puzzled by some of the comments about noise on here as we found it very quiet, the bar shuts at midnight and wasn’t busy later on so I found the place very quiet at night and got a good nights sleep in the huge bed. While the pool area was fairly busy there was never any problem getting a sun bed and there was no reserving with towels going on. The adult pool was lovely & peaceful with huge padded beds surrounding it. The staff were without exception friendly, helpful and very hard working. We all agreed that it was the most relaxing holiday we’d had and we would be very happy to return to this fantastic hotel. I can’t fathom some of the negative reviews on here, I think they’re about another hotel!
We were looking for a comfortable base for a few days cycling around the area. It started well, with a large comfortable room, enormous bed, large bathroom and a wide range of food for both dinner and breakfast (we didn’t do lunch - we were out riding all day). It is very popular with families with young children and the pool area and entertainment certainly seems popular with them. The only problem for us was the noise, with all the hard surfaces amplifying the running around, shouting, tantrums etc around the rooms and in the restaurant. The worst of which was families on an early start (4:45am) showing no consideration for other guests who, strangely enough, were trying to sleep... The accommodation is spread around a number of separate buildings so perhaps management could address the issue by allocating one building for adults only? Alternatively, only stay here if you have a young family - it really did seem well set up for fun times for kids. Not so much for couples looking to chill out...
Having recently stayed here I can provide the simple summary below, Good points The food ( breakfast and dinner) is of a good standard The hotel is very clean All staff provided good service There is an adults only pool area Bad points There is no separate adults only area in the restaurant, the noise from all the children is enough to give you a headache. The noise in our room was awful. Noise from adjacent rooms and the hallways at all hours was common. Mainly from kids running and banging. Again simple separation could of managed this better. Around the pool , everyone was smoking, it's awful. Kids come into the adult only pool, no one patrols this The beds have memory foam on them, if you are not used to it sleeping can be awkward.
This is a lovely, clean, well run hotel. The staff were invariably pleasant and efficient. The gardens are beautiful and well tended. The pool area appeared to be great fun for families, and we especially liked the adults only pool which was a quieter area with lovely double sunbeds. We were self catering so only ate once in the restaurant. The food was reasonable and there was certainly lots of it! The pool bar was great, good service, good coffee, nice food, and of course wine! The self catering part of our studio room was small but, as we only really ate breakfast there, adequate. The spa area was disappointing as the pool was very small and every time I went there it was full of parents with small children. I thought it very unusual to find small children in a spa pool. I never actually went in to the pool and decided against any treatments as the place seemed so noisy. In conclusion, we had a lovely holiday and would go back to this hotel.
It's a generally clean and very family friendly hotel with good holiday programme. The indoor pool is kind of small with heavily chlorinated water. Food was of good standard with plenty of options. Water in the room was also chlorinated and hence not great for consumption, even after boiling. Fortunately, there are plenty of shops around. Would suit self-catering family too.
All staff were friendly and helpful, room was great and the cleaners superb! Ate at buffet restaurant a few times, choice was Ok, quality variable for my taste but no issues overall. Adult only pool was a bonus as the other pools were pretty lively with children, appropriately so. Good location, absolutely no negative aspects would recommend especially for families.
Nice hotel, rooms ok just no coffee or tea in the room when you ariving. Nice swiming pool area -pool water bit cold . Food ok..not worth for that price.. Beach not far only 5-10min walk. Was lovely. Evening entertainment's seen better than here . For small kids there are bouncing castle-play ground.
