Went to the Zafiro during October half term. Loved the hotel especially the big rooms. The one big downfall are the cold pools, kids couldn't enjoy them as after 5 minutes in the water they had blue lips and were absolutely freezing. Would love to go back there again but they need to sort out the cold pools, surely in this day and age they could install solar panels to warm the pools up to take the edge off the freezing water. Spoke to a couple who have been there during the summer holidays who said the water in the pools were just as cold then.
What an amazing hotel! Friendly staff and always so happy. The hotel was always clean and well presented as were the rooms. We upgraded to a Royal suite and I would highly recommend this to anyone staying at this hotel. We will most Definately be rebooking and next time going all inclusive. The range of food suited all of our family wants. Our children loved the pool areas and the big blue bouncy pod, it was an all round fantastic holiday and somewhere we feel will become a regular annual spot for us. We were very impressed to say the least!
Having stayed in mainland Spain a lot in villas and self catering, this was our first hotel stay in a long time. We were a bit dubious at first as we had not stayed half board before but as soon as we arrived everything was amazing. The staff were lovely and any request was dealt with (such as making our twin beds into a double), this included the reception staff, the maids, the technicians, the waiters and chefs. Our room was great, we stayed in a royal terrace with Jacuzzi (which was cleaned regularly), although we paid extra we definitely made the right choice with this as used it every day. We are a family of 4 with kids aged 12 and 13 and found we had plenty of space in the room. The food was delicious with plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner, we tried so many different things that we had never had before including shark which was delicious. Breakfast was a choice of juices, smoothies, cereals, fruit, toasts, meat and cheese, pancakes, waffles, omelettes, all types of eggs, full English breakfast etc. Evening meal included soups, salads, pastas, stews, pizzas, meat from the grill, paellas, fish, kids food and specials too many to name. The desserts were in abundance such as cakes, sweets ,icecreams, jellies, buns, yogurts, gateaux. There is a small shop on site and a supermarket near tonga tower hotel so we bought things for lunch and made them in the apartment easily such as pasta, toasties sandwiches. We did think about going all inclusive but we were glad that we didn't as half board was plenty and we only had snacks for lunch and I don't think we would have benefited from all inclusive. We did eat at the snack bar once which was nice and had pizza which was from about 12 euros and a couple of Pina coladas at 6 euros each which was reasonably priced. You give the reception your credit card details on arrival and anything you get is charged to your room which you pay at the end, our bill was about 90 euros at the end of the week for the food and drink we had eaten, I was a bit worried about this as thought the prices would be expensive(they weren't) but as we had gone to the supermarket( spent about 40 euros) as well this all worked out ok. My son played football everyday and we also played mini golf and table tennis a few times which was all free. There was an inflatable in the pool which the kids played on all day. At one point the staff brought out zorb balls in the pool and lots of kids had a go. There were kids activities all day. There is also a slide which was popular. We didn't see much of the evening entertainment, there was a kids pirates disco every night which was very popular but for the younger ones and an act on after, a band or singers. The acrobats on our last night were good but we didn't really see any of the others there was also bingo and karaoke as well. I think because we ate so much and made the most of our evening meals as a family(playing golf etc after), that was our night out as it was like being in a restaurant every evening. We were in beds before midnight each day and the beds were so comfy and there was no noise from the bar. We didn't see anybody drunk or rowdy. We went for half term at the end of October and the weather was good, it did rain one morning and was cloudy that day. The rest of the week was sunny about 23 degrees celcius which was hot enough. It did drop a bit cooler on an evening and we needed a cardigan/ jacket. We went to the beach which was about 10 minutes walk away, the beach was lovely with clear sea as usual in Majorca. There is a promenade of restaurants all the way along so plenty to choose from, we had burgers at a restaurant on the promenade which cost about 40 euros with drinks which was great. There is also a main shopping street just behind the beach and promenade which included clothes, souvenir shops, cafes and beauticians. A lot of places did seem to be closed but I think the town was getting ready to shut for the season and it wasn't very lively but in summer I think it would be very busy. This was the best holiday we have had in along time and we are so glad that we went as we got the chance to spend quality family time together and relax The only bad thing was the pool temperature which was really cold, this didn't bother my son or some of the other kids but the rest of the family didn't use it, my husband got in once and said it was the coldest pool he had ever been in. I was glad we didn't get a swim up apartment as we wouldn't have used it. I think in the summer this would be better. We used the resort check in which was helpful but we had to take our bags down to reception at 7am which was early, we did get picked up at 9.30 for a 1pm flight which also seemed early but with pick ups etc was timed right. We did enquire about getting a taxi to go later to the airport but it was about 70 euros so not worth it. Hotel set out in a large area with 5 blocks of apartments all 3 storeys high and pools etc in centre. Royal terrace, swim up and premium rooms all overlook pool, others are quieter and round the back facing the gardens, road etc but very quiet area. Apologies for the length of this review I don't normally leave them but do read them and wanted to include everything. This hotel is perfect for a relaxing family holiday with quality food and great service. Not for you if you want to be out all the time or prefer more lively places.
visited at the end of October and it was a great hotel. the outside pools were cold but still enjoyed the pillow and slides and could always use the indoor pool. 5 mins walk to beach and main resort. great hotel and location.
We stayed here for our first family holiday abroad for 10 years and we were blown away. so clean, food a plenty and varied, staff friendly and plenty to keep you occupied.Loved the roof terrace with the hot tub. So glad we went all inclusive. The al a carte menus was so different from the main dinning hall which with 2 bookings in a week broke up the meal choices massively. Even when we returned home the staff were still very helpful as we left some items in our room and once they had found them they arranged for them to be shipped back to us. Love the baggage in resort check in for the homeward journey. Can't wait to go back.
Room great, view fabulous. Football golf darts table tennis Bowls, great of a day if you join in, but not a lot to do of a evening, everything finishes at 10pm. For little kids it's great but if you have teenagers they will be very bored of a evening.
I went to this beautiful hotel with my family for an all inclusive holiday through Thompson. Best holiday to date with a variety of cuisine to try and cosy rooms to stay in. A weeks escape here is all you need with their comfy sun beds and top quality facilities available. They even have a water slide, indoor sauna and gym as well as an Astro pitch. Highly recommend. Will take into consideration for future holidays!!
A Fantastic hotel that I would recommend to families. We have children aged 3 5 and 9. There was plenty for the children to do; football, playing in the pools and being entertained by the wonderful entertainment staff. A good variety of evening entertainment. Excellent fresh food in the all inclusive buffet. Friendly staff cleaning the rooms. Close enough to walk to the beach.
We’re staying in the premium room with hot tub on the terrace. Everything is clean and well presented? There is a great deal for the our 5 year old to do. Having another hotel very close by with the same name is slightly confusing on the first night after a couple of beers. We thought we’d entered a parallel universe as we tried to find out apartment that want there.
Or first holiday abroad with the kids (4 year old and 1 year old twins). Took the grandparents for moral support. Had a wonderful time. The food was unreal. Ate far too much 3 times a day. The restaurant food was superb. So much choice. The pool bar served amazing meals - pasta, burgers etc and you could order to take away and tended to eat by the pool. In the evening the main entertainment building had a fridge with a small section of snacks in was more than enough, and the bar served ice cream Sundays so my kids were happy. Cocktails had a ton of undistorted sugar in but we're delicious. My son was happy with the kiddies cocktails. Rooms were nice and spacious. Only fault I have with the room is the the wall lights. The shades were a flimsy sheet of plastic that my twins easily plucked off the wall, and underneath the were lots of wires. Made me a little nervous. Entertainment team were good and put on a great show for the kids each night, and adult entertainment was also enjoyable. The children's pool was freezing cold which was a shame but my children will really enjoyed it. Ca'n picafort is a lovely small town and the beach is beautiful. This was an expensive holiday for us and we unfortunately can't afford to come back next year but if we could afford to we wouldn't hesitate to book up again!
