We stayed at Viva Sunrise for one week from 5th of September 2017. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we had a fantastic time. After arrival at the hotel from the airport, about one hour bus drive, the check in was quick, even if there were more than 15 families checking in at the same time. We had a snack and we went straight to the pool, which was really clean (cleaned every day). Our son loved the kids pool with the pirate ship and all the slides. We had a two room apartment on the 5th floor, it was really easy to get there using the elevators. Our son was over the moon with the evening entertainment which was superb; he really enjoyed the kids disco with Bufo and Katy the hotel mascot. We all thought the entertainment team were fantastic. A really, really big thank you goes to Tony, one of the waiters who arranged a nice table with flowers and candle for my birthday, and a little cake; the waiters sang Happy birthday !!! to me and that was so nice. Also big thanks to the reception lady, I think Tonina it's her name. We had our 10 years wedding anniversary and she made an effort and we were delivered a nice champagne in the room on the anniversary day with a note from the hotel congratulating us. Few others that I would like to mention are : Manolo and Juan Carlos from the bar, and Claus, Pedro, Ricardo, Jesus and Anna waiters. Everybody working there did a outstanding job, the level of service was fantastic. I was working many years onboard cruise ships where the guest service is the most important aspect of your work. Being here for one week I had the exact feeling like on the cruise ship, everybody was smiling, happy, willing to help with anything. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anybody who travel with kids, and want a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you very much Viva Sunrise employees for making our holiday memorable, and thank you Tony, you are the best
I stayed at the Viva Sunrise Hotel for a week in August with my family and 3 other families. I cannot fault this hotel at all. My family stayed All Inclusive and there was lots of choice on the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner each night. The chef was very accommodating as my daughter loved the churros for breakfast and as she didn't see them one morning he went and made her a plate full. You could also have a la carte lunchtime , excellent choice of food on the menu. Very friendly & polite staff throughout this hotel. Its definitely worth doing All Inclusive. Bedrooms were very clean, the bathroom was to die for, it was amazing. Thank you to the Viva Sunrise for a fabulous week
Brilliant holiday. Staff very helpful. Head chef catered for my needs as a coeliac. He and his staff ensured gluten free really was GF even down to separate toaster for our use at breakfast. Best all inclusive holiday we've had so far. ( 6 adults & 2 children, 12 & 13 year old in our group)
We've just returned from a week staying at the Viva Sunrise. We were self catering so I cannot comment on the food but it looked very good. We are a couple in our 50's who enjoy a bit of night life but are past our all night clubbing days. The Viva Sunrise was in an excellent location, close to both the beach and a good selection of bars and restaurants, some with entertainment, but not too close for them to be a nuisance at night. A 10 minute walk got you to a host of places or you could either take a longer walk , catch a bus or the mini train into the port area itself which had another large selection. Alcudia beach is beautiful with miles of white sand. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment and were very impressed with the standard. A huge double bed in a good size bedroom and a comfortable separate lounge/ kitchen/ dining area. A comfortable sofa which could convert to another bed if required and a decent sized TV with some English channels (BBC 1/2, ITV 1/2/4). The kitchen area was basic but adequate for what we wanted with a dual ring hob, kettle and a full size fridge. There was also a microwave and of course a sink. The bathroom was huge with a large walk in shower and double basins. The whole thing was spotlessly clean and kept to a very high standard. WiFi reception in the room was very good. The pool are was good with enough sunbeds for this time of year. I don't know if it might get a bit crowded at the height of the season. Pool towels are provided in the room which can be changed twice per week. We thoroughly enjoyed our week, in spite of some unseasonal poor weather which could not be helped. Would definitely recommend the Viva Sunrise and would probably go back again.
I chose this hotel for our for our family holiday abroad in 12 years as I don't like flying. We have 2 sons age 16 and 11 and I was worried incase there wasn't enough for them to do but they loved it. On arrival we were given a room on the 5th floor and I asked to upgrade to a pool view room which was done within an hour of us arriving. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the air con cold which was lovely. Any minor issue that we had with the room on arrival were dealt with quickly. We stopped in a one bed apartment self catering as we wanted to experience eating out at different places but after 2 very average meals out in town costing over 80 euros we decided to upgrade to half board in the hotel. This was the best decision we could have made, the food is so varied and plentiful you couldn't ask for more. My husband was having about 3 dishes of food each evening it was so nice and we are fussy about what we eat. The staff are amazing and are genuinely happy to help. My only criticism of the hotel is the entertainment as it's very average and it's such a shame as everything else is spot on. There is always someone cleaning in the hotel and restaurants and towels are changed daily. The hotel is central to everything, 10 mins walk to,the beach and water park (ok but expensive) and there are bars, restaurants and shops 5 mins outside the hotel. I have already recommended the hotel to friends for next year. And the one bus bonus is that there's enough sun beds for everyone.
We recently returned from a lovely holiday at Viva Sunrise. I picked this hotel because of the wonderful reviews and was not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we was greeted at reception by polite efficient staff and a big smile. We booked self catering but upgraded to all Inclusive when we got there due to the flexibility the hotel offered. Food We ate in the hotel Buffett restaurant for breakfast, lots of choice and they really did cater for people with allergies offering a gluten free section and lots of different milks. Juices and smoothies. For lunch we ate in La Palapa, which was included in AL. Here you had a Choice from a menu I loved the burrito da pollo. Waiter service( the guys really worked hard here) excellent choice of drinks served in glass. Open from 12pm to 4pm. We did choose to eat out a couple of times in the evening but again Buffett restaurant lots of good quality food inc beef, and racks of ribs.waiter service for drinks. Rooms We had a 1 bed pool view room which was spacious well equipped with a lovely comfortable bed. Air con that actually worked. And an amazing walk in shower. Maids came every day apart from Sunday and left the room lovely and clean. Handy airer on balcony. Pool. 2 fab pools, and never had to struggle to get a sun bed. Pool towels supplied and you can change Monday and Thursday. We didn't have little ones but the kids pool with the ship looked lots of fun. Entertainment A packed entertainment programme if you wanted to participate- we chose not to. It had lots for kids. Eve entertainment wasn't really my thing but families with little ones all seemed to enjoy. Once the entertainment finishes about 10.30 the area does empty out. Bar stays open till 12pm but not many people about after 11pm. General The hotel offers a laundry service but there is also a small laundry free to use for guests. A handy supermarket on site and lots of other facilities inc massage at a small additional charge. A short walk from the sandy beach with water you can just walk out. Along the strip there is plenty to see and do for entertainment around Alcudia. Harbour with more shops and restaurants is about 20 mins away. Thank you Viva Sunrise for a fab week. Hopefully see you next year
We returned to the Viva Sunrise for the second year in a row, this time we brought some friends with us. It's always worrying when you praise a place so much, to the extent of getting another family to pay for a weeks all inclusive, but it didn't disappoint in the slightest. The 3 kids (14 months, 2 years and nearly 3 year old) love it, they played and splashed until they dropped. Amazing food, amazing service. The all inclusive was worth the money for sure. Branded alcohol included. Time to start saving for next year!
I have no idea where the people who've written good reviews about usually spend their holidays, but I'm sorry to say I found this place utterly grim and depressing. It may be standard fare for all-inclusive, but if you are not used to all inclusives and are just experimenting (we have a young family so thought we'd give it a shot having avoided all-inclusives all our lives) you'll be in for an unpleasant surprise. Squeezed in together like sardines on an unattractive block in a soulless and tacky tourist strip, looking out not at the sea but at two apartment blocks that overhang the hotel, unable to relax due to the daytime "entertainment", and surrounded (sorry to sound snobbish) by package tourists covered in tattoos, this place is really not fun. Half the rooms (all those poolside - don't be encouraged by check-in staff to switch to this side) suffer from noise too - either from the spectacularly loud aircon down one end or the entertainment stage down the other. The biggest problem with the place is it's not on the beach so everyone is hemmed in together and you have no sense at all that you are by the sea - sure it's only a few blocks away but that in practice matters rather a lot as a paddle in the sea etc becomes a "trip" or special outing. And all this grimness comes at quite a price - we paid £300 per night all-inclusive. Of course it could be worse. Our 3 year old enjoyed the shallow pos and splash areas, the food was ok and in fact decent at night and the rooms were a decent size with a proper door between the bedroom and the sitting room/kids room (im most hotels most "family rooms" appear to be just a normal room with a sofa bed.) But please, please trust me - unless you are tried and tested on all inclusives don't experiment on this one. There must at the very least be alternatives actually on the sea, or else stay in a lovely agrotourismo or indeed hire a villa for the same price - there are so many nice places on the island (Pollenca, Soller, Arta, Deia, the interior, even Alcudia itself) there is absolutely no need to stay anywhere this soul-destroying. We will certainly never go all-inclusive again or if we do we'll shell out even more for a proper luxury one. It was an awful end to a lovely 2 weeks in Mallorca done for the best of reasons (we thought our kids would like it, which of course they did, but they'd have been happy elsewhere too) but which we will never repeat.
Just came back from another fantastic time at Viva Sunrise. I was a bit sceptical in case it wasn't going to be as good as the previous years but yet again it ticked all the boxes. We noticed that there was at least five other families from who were there last year back again at the same time, so that in itself speaks volumes. The staff and service is what makes this hotel stand out from everywhere else, hence the reason why we keep coming back. A big mention to Tony, he is such a lovely person and nothing is ever to much trouble for him, he goes out of his way to come and have a chat and to make sure we was all having a good time. My only negative comment for this year was I felt that there was not enough restaurant staff as previous years so the poor waiters were working even harder than usual. This is no way a criticism because they literally work non stop but maybe they need a few more staff to help them out. Also a big thank you to Nico, he is brilliant as well as all the other animation team. The hotel is absolutely spotless, a big mention to our housekeeper because she came in every day for the 11 days we were there, that is what I call excellent service. Staying at this hotel for 3 years is really making it hard to find another one that will live up to the same expectations.
We visited last year as a family after lots of friends suggested we try alcudia. Now the hotel is perfect but the location is definitely not our cup of tea. It just seems very disjointed and the beach it's a bit of a trek over a v.busy road. I think a lot has changed over the years since some of our friends last visited the place. That being said I can highly recommend a trip to the beach and to Puerto Pollensa. The hotel is beautiful, very modern with the most amazing food. We upgraded when we got there to all in as the pina colladas are amazing. The only down points would be the swimming pool for the number of guests seemed small and the space the sun beds occupied is also small. Oh and good luck getting a sunbed each day. Unless you like getting up at 7am!!
