So, where to start a review on this 4* adults only hotel in a decent secondary position in Paguera, Mallorca. It has to be the title. Our only request on booking,in excess of six months ago, was for a quiet room, we understand people love entertainment but we are early risers and, frankly, it isn't our kind of entertainment.so the quiet room is in an annex behind the main block and our balcony is opposite the main hotel entrance (as shown in photo),so no sea view for us, unlike the main block in front of us;next to a road with a busy bus route with a constant arrival and departure of guests and the (mostly) TUI coaches to collect or drop them off, not to mention the dumping of the empty glass bottles early in the morning in a dumpster within sight of our room: oh, and the revellers rolling in after their night out at the clubs and bars. Not exactly a quiet room......
This adult-only hotel has all the amenities you need; pool, great views to the sea, wifi worked well and clean rooms and no screaming kids. If you take half-board like we did, you will experience variety but yet consistent quality in the food. The hotel is FULL with Germans and/or senior travellers so be warned😉 Staff is very serviceminded and really make you feel welcome. Special thanks to Antonio at the restaurant - you were wonderful!
i booked this as part of a tennis package - it's one of the closest hotels to the Tennis Academy of Mallorca. Hotel is very clean and in good repair but a tiny bit in need of a refurb as it is quite dated. Beds were comfortable (with a choice of pillow softness) and the bathroom spotless - although it could have done with more lighting - especially over the bath! Aircon was a bit erratic but it wasn't too hot whilst we were there. Fridge is free but you can't fit large water bottles in there (which I needed when playing tennis!) The breakfast was exceptional, but dinner (I was on half board) was a bit mixed. As others have said the staff are fantastic and I have a particular shout out for Jasmin at Reception who was very helpful. Yes the hotel is 95% full of German guests which does mean everyone addresses you in German at first but otherwise not an issue. In May there were always pool loungers available but I suspect this would not be the case later in the summer. It is a very short walk to shops, cafes, restaurants and the beach. We were on the first floor so no sea view although facing in that direction.
Stayed here over Easter for a short break . We had been to Paguera for the day and thought it would make a change to go somewhere different. The area is predominately aimed at the German population, as was the hotel. Check in was quick and straightforward. The room was on the small side with no fridge or safe . ( Safety deposit boxes are in reception , they don't supply fridges ) We did have a Seaview ...If you look very hard over the roof tops !! We overlooked the outdoor pool and bar area which on the whole were very quiet .. no music playing and most strangely of all no sun bed bagging !! It just doesn't happen at this hotel... at 9.30am all on the sun beds were available not a towel in sight . All the staff were very pleasant and quickly remembered our drinks orders. The restaurant system leaves a lot to be desired. The first evening we were asked to go in an hour later thanthe en other guests and find the restaurant manager for a table. We did eventually get shown to a table. To be honest it was very crowded where we were and hot but you can't sit outside til May ! Next morning at breakfast it was a lot quieter and we sat at one of the many empty tables only to be asked to move back to where we were the previous night . We moved . That evening the table was being used by someone else so yet again we moved . We weren't the only being messed about ... Some guests had plates in their hands with dinner on them chasing after the manager because they didn't know where to sit . This might be a daft idea .... but do away with the seating plan and let guests sit where they like ??? Try it for a couple of weeks , it can't be anymore chaotic than it is !! The area is well served by a good bus service , cheap and on time . We went to Santa Ponsa, Palma Nova and Magaluf.
This is a very good four star hotel but not in the luxury class. The food and service were first class and the staff always positive and helpful. It is important to get a room as high as possible if you want a sea view. 8th to 11th floor best. The hotel is set back from the beach and promenade so not really suitable for a bucket and spade holiday. It is an adults only hotel which seems to attract the older generation, like myself! Evening entertainment which was not intrusive and opportunities to take part in activities like local walks.
Five trips to Paguera and have now stayed at this hotel three times and wished we had found it at the start. Always a pleasure to go back to this hotel as there are a lot of lovely staff who have been there a long time and you get to know them. It's like our home from home. Great selection of food and the hotel has a lovely atmosphere so its highly recommended. We prefer to stay in the superior rooms as they are much brighter and roomy but that's not to say you would be disappointed with any others. The hotel is a favourite with the Germans as is the resort but then again this ensures you get the best of everything on offer so be prepared to fit in and you don't have to rush for sun beds around the pool because they can't be reserved and the hotel is adults only so no distrurbances. Look out for Martin, the young man from Hungary who's in charge of entertainment. He was so chatty and a pleasure to have around and always did his best to please. The stars rating for this hotel does not do it justice.
Don't listen to those who say that the staff won't speak to you unless you are German. That's rubbish! It's not 5 star, but overall this is a great hotel with friendly staff throughout. Predominantly German guests, but that has never been the slightest problem on our many visits. Always a very good choice of buffet style foods for breakfasts & dinners. Perfectly adequate bedrooms cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis, excellent position near to the beach if that's what you like. We always have a hire car and parking is free. Evening entertainment is excellent with some great acts. (Obviously German quizzes). If you are a tennis fan, the tennis club is a stone throw away. We use the hotel as a base because of its proximity to the motorway & the South West of this wonderful island. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Always nice to come back to this hotel, have been here five times now - and the hotel staff is almost the same as the first time. And they are helpful and friendly all the time. The breakfast is nice, even thoug the restaurant gets a bit crowdy at times. The rooms are spacious and has a fantastic view if you pay for a small upgrade to a sea view. The rates are really good, and the location ideal for us - as we are playing tennis and the hotel is just a 2-3 minutes walk from the courts. We will definitely be back again next year :)
My wife and I have just returned once again from this fine hotel. We keep getting drawn back rather than try another and be disappointed. From Paquita the room maid,Javi and his staff on reception,Santi and Adolpho main bar,Tomas at poolside bar,Paco, head chef and his staff in the busy kitchen,Antonio and staff in the restaurant and Rafa the doorman,ad finally Jordi the director, they are all so friendly and welcoming that is why we know all there names. Our room was kept spotless during our 8 night stay, every day.The day and night entertainment was great, taken care of by Danny. As it was high season we had great shows everynight. We even had one lunchtime free paella or tapas with sangria, nice touch. We really enjoyed the outside pool this trip, you should see the coloured lighting at night. The pool and the terrace again was spotless. The terracing is hosed down every morning. You can enjoy your breakfast alongside the pool every morning as the girls and Fransisco put out tables every morning. As it is half board you can enjoy a poolside lunch with Tomas.Plenty of shade if you want it and ample sunbeds. The breakfast is great with show cooked omelettes and even waffles.Best scrambled egg we have ever had.The evening meal, well every thing you desire, always meat and fish and again show cooking normally with Paco, head chef.My wife will confirm that the desserts are great. All types of tarts and gateaus are on offer. The wine is not that expensive either.Bar prices are reasonable to.When you venture out try the bar facing the beach over the road, overlooking the pretty bay,say hello to Paco and his sons. The boulevard is full of good bars and restaurants and shops. It would be great if you can hire a car for a few days as Mallorca is a wonderful island,so many places to visit. As the hotel is adults only, not that we have anything against children,it is so peacefull. At night you can hear a pin drop.A stay at this hotel, being a 4 star goes beyond being just a hotel,i have never been to a hotel, and we have been to many, where they all work so hard and are so friendly. We are returning again in May17,that seems a long way away,to see Jordi and all his staff. We again ,cannot wait.PS,Wifi free allover the hotel, good A/C everywhere.
This is my fourth review, having visited each year for the last 4. This hotel continues to grow on me, being even sharper than last year when it reached a new high. The staff as always were friendly and very helfpul and efficient. Some new members of the team brought a bit more life to the place and the cleanliness was exemplary.I had a top floor, single room with a good view over the sea and it was ideal for my purposes, being out all day anyway. It was very comfortable indeed, with plenty wardrobe space etc, and the small balcony was perfect for private relaxation after a day out. The breakfast was even better than last year, but I cannot comment on the evening meal as I and my companions elected to dine out in different restaurants in the evening, as is our wont. Overall, I feel this hotel has improved every year, and the cost is very modest for the location, comfort and facilities, not to mention the excellent service from the staff.
