Myself and my wife stayed at the Gran Playa for a 4 day all inclusive break in May . We found the hotel to be situated in an ideal position, close to the beach and amenities. The hotel and our room ( with sea view) was spotlessly clean and the food and the choice of food was outstanding. All staff were very polite but a special note to Jean and Fran who worked in the bar area . Jean was a superb barman with good knowledge whilst Fran was a new member of the team who was very keen to learn and went out of his way to please . It was a pleasure to get to know them both .We would thoroughly recommend staying at this Hotel .
Well for once I am not full of praise for THB Gran-Playa To start this review I must mention transfer time which I Know is not the Hotels fault we travelled 20/05/17 with Jet2 from Newcastle 2 Adults and from boarding coach at Palma to Hotel it took 2hrs5mins you might want to bear this in mind. Reception As always quick and into room hassle free Rooms Have had a tasteful face lift with ash effect wardrobes, lockers and nice new chrome light fittings. Tea and coffee and kettle provided but had to constantly remind maid to refill what we had used. Room was on 4th floor with quite a good sea view would recommend this as rooms are small but are fitted with wall mounted TV with 4 English channels, small fridge so only but the smaller bottles as 1 litre do not fit in also bathroom has hair dryer and they supply basic wash items with very good shower Restaurant Breakfast and Lunchtime meal as we were A/I were excellent but found evening meal not always hot and very little vegetables with a over kill on rice and found the show cooking steaks and chops were so thin you would think they had been cut with a laser but the fish was okay Also the A/I drink dispensers have been moved to the tea and coffee counter served by a waiter/ Waitress which sometimes get congested. But a mention to young Miguel who was so pleasant and helpful. Pool Area To small beds are so close its a accident waiting to happen as there is no foot room even for the nimblest of guests to the point one actually fell into pool to be saved by Juan the excellent barman as the life guard was nowhere to be seen. However there is a elevated sun terrace but does not warm up till about 1300 hrs. and the beds that do get it earlier set your alarm for 6-0-clock like all hotels to beat the Olympic sun bathers. Bar Area All staff very good to name Joan,Paco,Juan and Tito A/I drinks good and no stigma like other holidays I have had with good selection of cocktails and cava. Entertainment The worst I have seen in 6 visits singers who couldn't sing and dancers who could not dance and then to top it all the new Manageress had the audacity to cancel Sat night Artist to show the German cup final with no alternative option for none German guests which would not happen in any other 4star hotel especially with the amount we paid ? Location As previous reviews close to beach as for privacy it is enclosed by a high wall which does not provide any views. Summary This visit was not as good as previous for the negative points I have mentioned but in my opinion it is a true account and I hope it helps fellow travellers as I would now rate this Hotel as a 3star plus due to cleanliness and postion
Adults only hotel. 2 mins from a beautiful sandy beach. Fair selection for meat eaters for all meals (little light on vegetarian options). Nice rooms. Great selection of TV channels in multiple languages. Hotel staff great. Nice pool. All round a recommended hotel. Left the family at home for this 3 day break and never once felt alone. Can Picafort is awesome. The hotel is great. The beach is stunning. People are friendly. All good.
Great location with bars & restaurants very close by. The beach is also a 2 minute walk. Staff very friendly & helpful, from the cleaner to reception (receptionist lent her phone charger after ours broke). To top it all champagne was put in the room free of charge after they discovered birthday cards displayed. We booked B&B, we were greeted every morning with a fresh & plentiful display of food. We would definitely stay here again should we return to this part of Majorca.
It takes 1 hour 30 mins to get here from the airport. Hotel is good, the beach is a 2 min walk, lots of sun beds poolside, supermarkets etc nearby. Here are the negatives: * We went all inclusive, yet it seems you only get 1 bottle of water for the week. Sign on water cooler in restaurant saying don't fill bottles. * meat in nearly everything. Not much for vegetarians * plates once took over 10 mins to be taken * jacuzzi was cold Overall had good time. Best pub was Bazooka I think it's called
My husband and myself have been staying in this hotel in Ca'n Picafort once a year for the last 35 years and we have always found it to be our favourite. All staff are very pleasant and helpful and the rooms are kept very clean. The food is of a good standard. We have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel. Marc & Gwen Belfast.
Lovely hotel and staff! Facilities: We only stayed at this hotel for 3 night for a short break, but I have to say it surpassed our expectations. The staff are friendly and, as is often the case with hotel staff, they always seem to be there! The facilities from what we experienced are great. The fitness room is on the top floor and really does have windows overlooking the sea. The sauna and steam rooms have adjacent showers and toilets if needed. We didn't use the jacuzzi though as it only takes 2 at a time and was busy, but this wasn't a problem. Rooms: In the rooms you have the usual shampoo and shower gel - but also an emergency toothbrush kit, a shaving kit, tissues, a sewing kit and even mouthwash (which is called 'antiseptic' so it took me a day to work out that it wasn't part of a hidden first aid kit!) There's also a hairdryer in the bathroom - which was surprisingly powerful! The tea and coffee tray is replenished daily - although a word of warning - the cups get exceptionally hot to the touch when they've got tea/coffee in them. Use the handle!! The only slight nag, if I was being picky, would be that the cleaners didn't clean in the corners of the bathroom (under the sink or where the toilet rolls were on the top of the cistern for example) it wasn't dirty, just dusty and it didn't affect our stay in a negative way at all - just something that could be improved. Food: I have to say, as we were only booked in on a B&B basis, on the first night we went to a bar along the seafront - it was lovely, but the usual stereotypical choices. The next night we decided to book into the hotel for dinner at €10 each as the breakfast had been lovely - and it was well worth the money! Great food with a huge variety to choose from. So we are there the following night too. Entertainment: The entertainment was ok. On the 2 nights we were in the hotel there was a female tribute act who was quite good. But there are plenty of bars along the front if you want to watch the football/ F1 etc. An absolute MUST if you like 70's/80's rock music is a visit to the Poker (Bit-burger lager) bar next door to the hotel. From ZZ top, Queen, Status Quo to Neil Young, the man (who we think may have been the owner) plays them all from old school vinyl records with a collection that would be the envy of many a collector. We went in for one drink at 7.30...and stayed and sang the night away until midnight! Great atmosphere and great fun. Beach: We didn't use the swimming pool in the hotel as we love the beach, which is literally round the corner. We hired 2 loungers, a parasol and a safe for €13.50 which was worth every penny as it meant we didn't have a bad back from lying on the sand! If you're on the front row (right next to the water) then it's definitely worth hanging your clothes, bags, towels etc off the bars under the parasol as the tide does come up to your lounger, quite quickly if it's a bit choppy. There's also a bit of a rip current, so the lifeguards will probably tell you to get out of the water if it's choppy and you're on lilo's etc. Hints: Take mosquito repellant!! It may be due to the time of year - but if you're hiring a car - there was plenty of parking on the road outside the hotel. Thank you for a much needed, very relaxing break! Would definitely recommend this place 😊
I was with my partner for three days. Great location, close to the beach and the comercial center. Really kind and profesional staff. Highly recommendable for a relaxing holiday. Excellent relation between price and service.
We have just returned from a fantastic three night getaway and could not have wanted anything more from the hotel. On arrival, our welcome was warm and helpful. We were given room 411 which was on the quiet side of the hotel with brilliant views. Nothing better than being able to hear the sea. The room was small but it really wasn't a problem. It had everything that we needed, it was clean and tidy and was made up every morning. Ideal. We stayed All Inclusive and found the local drinks to be fine. Other people on here have complained about the food; well, I really cannot see why they complained. There was SO much choice! If you do not like something, go back for a different choice. Simple. We really did not go hungry or thirsty. Thank you. The pool area was lovely but a little bit cosy when the sun was out but with the beach being two minutes walk away it wasn't a problem. The pub attached to the hotel was also very lovely with great cocktails. The town itself is also very nice to walk around. The only draw back is the transfer time, as mentioned by other people in their feedback. The coach drops visitors off at other hotels beforehand so your transfer time is almost as long as the flight time. I would also recommend paying extra for a direct transfer or a taxi. All in all, the town and hotel are highly recommended
