I stayed here in August as a wee holiday for 5 nights whilst I visited family who lived here. The hotel was renovated last year after Melia bought it over, and it is spectacular. The WiFi is complimentary for one. The staff are so friendly and lovely, and we were greeted with some refreshing drinks while we checked in. The room was a lovely size, with a gorgeous balcony looking out towards the sea and the beach. Nice bathroom, and everything was clean. Only went on B&B, but the breakfast was a great buffet - everything you could want was there! The pool area was really nice, with a good bar and loungers. Yes, there's not that many, but the hotel is 4 feet from the beach! Adults only, so the only kids you hear are on the beach, and they're just a faint sound :) Perfect hotel in a great area - this is well needed in Palma Nova!

I would like to dedicate this review to Pepi who works on Reception and retires at the end of the season after 45 years outstanding service with the Melia Organisation. Often referred to in reviews as the helpful lady with blond hair and glasses she has played a huge part in making sure that guests’ experience of the hotel is likely to lead to them becoming regulars like ourselves. She is a good example of a staff group that go well beyond the service that you could reasonably expect in a hotel. From Maria at Customer Services and Javier Head of Restaurant and Bar staff to Laura, the Entertainments Director they are all absolute stars. It would also be wrong not to mention Isidoro, Guillem, Jose, Eva, Antonio, Belen and a host of other dedicated staff who contribute to such an enjoyable holiday. Our own experience on this visit (27th approx.) was overall very good. The sea view room we booked was upgraded to a 4th floor Extra room with a breathtaking view of the bay. The “extras” included dressing gowns and flip flops, a coffee machine, a large wet room with modern shower and two changes of towels per day as well as a free bottle of wine and fruit at the start and end of the holiday. It really seemed like VIP treatment. As mentioned in previous reviews the hotel could not have a better location right on the beach with outstanding views. If you do become a regular the chances are that you have long since given up on lying by the pool as it simply is not worth the bother you have to go through for a few hours sunbathing. Avoid the hassle and go to the beach and enjoy a full days sunbathing costing 13.50 Euros (includes two loungers and a parasol.) The hotel entertainment, in our opinion, is good overall but obviously your musical taste would have a bearing. It would appear to have been chosen to fit in with the ultra-relaxed beach house concept and in that respect it works well. The terrace offers wonderful views and a relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy the music and try one of the highly-regarded cocktails. Some have mentioned the drinks prices as an issue but I would expect to pay more in a hotel than perhaps the bar round the corner. Breakfast again offered the terrific choice that most reviewers have mentioned. I particularly like the fact there are plenty options for those guests who are health conscious. It saddens me to have to say after all our many visits that I have arrived at my first complaint. Over the years the hotel has built up a great reputation for the variety and quality of the evening buffet meal. In June I reported that the food was not quite as good and the temperature was definitely a problem. This time the previous menus appear to have been abandoned in favour of a more tapas type offering to presumably fit in with the beach house concept. To say it was bitterly disappointing would be an understatement. Most of the “hot” offerings are fried (why would you offer chips and fried potatoes as a choice?) Some of the cuts of meat were very tough and were a good example of the poor quality and selection. Individual casserole dishes often contained one piece of meat or fish in dried up vegetables. Decorative cones contained - well I’m not very sure what some of them contained - but it wasn’t particularly nice. The one thing that they all had in common was they were either lukewarm or worse were entirely cold. Most nights I had paella as it seemed to be reasonably hot only for it to be replaced one evening with what appeared to be a fried potato and scrambled egg mixture. Presentation-wise the food looked very nice but most guests are looking for a selection of hot meal options of reasonable quality and for the most part that was not provided. Alberto, the manager, is making efforts to solve the temperature issues but as I point out that is not the only problem. I suspect that Melia HQ inspired the tapas menu idea and therefore only customer complaints will reverse this change. In the meantime some regular guests have already decided to stay elsewhere next year. If management are serious about guests’ views then I would suggest returning to a bain marie system and restoring the selection of sliced meats in gravy and fish in sauces and some pasta choices which were so popular. Salads such as Florida, potato and coleslaw could make a welcome return as well as some adult ice cream options rather than children’s cones. As far as I am concerned I will be returning as I had already made a booking for June 2018 prior to this visit. I like the hotel and staff very much and will probably book bed and breakfast in the future which I feel is such a shame. Unfortunately I booked half board for June and now anticipate having to eat out most nights if there is no improvement.
I would highly recommend this hotel. It's beautiful and smells gorgeous as soon as you walk in the doors. The rooms are fab and I would recommend getting a sea view it's totally worth the extra. All the staff were lovely and very friendly
This was my second visit to Sol Beach House. We stayed for 10 days and had a super time . Our upgraded room with solarium was fabulous . The maid service was exceptional. Loved the little extras that were provided . Wi Fi was brilliant. We stayed half board and the breakfast and dinner were very good but I think water should be provided free with dinner . We didn't use the pool ,gym or do the yoga. The weather was so good we were swimming in the sea every day .We really had a perfect holiday , Thank you Sol Beach House .See you again in 2018.
very good food, room, pool, beach and staff very friendly. the only bad thing is the internet if you need to do some work look elsewhere! the internet is too slow to do any kind of activity. Cheers for all the Sol beach house! tsk
We popped in for a drink and were lured by the beautiful, cool, relaxed atmosphere into staying for a few hours to relax by the pool. Amazing playlist, Guillen behind the bar was wonderfully attentive and friendly, and fabulous cocktails. We are definitely staying next time we visit.
I wanted to highlight some areas which could be improved to provide a more relaxing hotel stay. Keeping the room cool is important for a good nights sleep. Air conditioning is essential but the wall-mounted units are too noisy. Try opening the door for some air as an alternative and late-night noises from the street below disturb the peace. Chill-out music from the hotel loud speaker network fills the air at every opportunity from early morning. Although mainly heard in outdoor seating areas it also gets piped into the restaurant at times. It may be considered to be relaxing, but the opposite is true when you are constantly bombarded by it. So after staying here for a week hoping for relaxation, I felt more tired afterwards for having done so. The hotel has many plus points and I believe it is the most attractive of places to stay in the area.
