Recently just visited Sol Alcudia Center for 10 nights. We visited last year, and decided to revisit and glad we did as the hotel did not disappoint. The hotel is in a fab location, few minutes walk to the beach and in and amongst shops, bars, and restaurants. Olas just across the road from the hotel is particularly good and has a bouncy castle for the kids. The hotel has 2 bigger pools and a smaller pool, perfect for my 2 year old! However, you do have to reserve your sunloungers at the crack of dawn if you stand any chance of getting one. The supermarket attached to the hotel is fantastic and has everything you may need. The rooms are kept spotless, the housekeeping staff are friendly, and always made the effort to speak us. Overall this is a great family hotel, in a fantastic location and I am sure we will returning again.
We have just come home from 10 days here. We were looking forward to it after reading good reviews. After an extremely long day travelling with 4 very young children we arrived and 2 girls were checking people in, the people in front of me left so I moved forward, the girl then got up and went away. I found this incredibly rude! She seen me standing right in front of her and without even a word she walked off! All in we were standing there for 30 mins even though we should have been 2nd in the queue! Great start. The rooms were spacious, double balcony. We paid extra for a pool view room which we got. The room has enough items for self catering but my partner stupidly bought items for the children from the shop downstairs that needed an oven which we didn't have (there is a hob) microwave and toaster. The only issue I had with this hotel was the bar staff. By far the most rude staff I have !et at any hotel. They dont speak or smile. I was stood 1 night waiting to be served and 3 members of staff stood speak ing for 15 minutes right in front of me (I later found out the female staff member was the bar manager) I actually started laughing because they were blatantly ignoring me, to that point I was then served. Very poor service from the bar staff. Sadly I also think the drink is watered down, a few other guests also commented on thus about it being for people who are all inclusive - we weren't so that's even more annoying. My mother had gin twice and it was basically lemonade with ice, it really was terrible. On the 1st day we ordered a snack from the bar menu (there is about 5 items on it - just baguettes or toasties) all 3 were cremated so in our 10 days we never ordered there again! Luckily the shop next door sold fresh croissants & pastries. We didn't eat in the restaurant so couldn't comment on the food. The entertainment group are a great bunch but I would definitely choose a hotel that offers more next time. It does have 3 pools which is good as it was very busy. Also the sunbed fanatics were down at 6am putting the towels down, 2 hours before the pool even opened. There is a lot of beds so you will get 1 you will just be quite far back from the pool. I would recommended requesting a room higher up as we were the 4th floor and on our 1st night when we were in bed 'early' we could hear everything. They had a bouncy castle 1 night and the man on the 1st floor was on his balcony and the castle was right beside him - literally. My kids loved there stay, my partner said he would go back but I would probably look or somewhere with a bit more activities next time and where the bar staff speak and get to no the guests.
Great family holiday, staff were lovely and really helpful, food a bit of a hit or miss but we were never hungry could do with a bit more variety. Entertainment staff were very keen and lively and great with the kids.
Hotel is in a great location , a short walk from the beach with various restaraunts and bars close by. Rooms were basic but clean and pretty roomy...so lots of space. Had a large shop at bottom of hotel which was really handy especially if your self catering...all in all I would stay here again especially for the central location
We found hotel to cater to all our needs as a family with young kids. Rooms basic but very clean. Pool area and location great. Kids club was excellent, staff were so good with the kids. Would love to go back!
An older hotel but very clean and tidy. Rooms were cleaned and towels replaced daily. Fun pool side activities for children and adults. All staff are friendly and helpful. It can be a little noisy at night due to the holiday makers at the bar. The pool bar serves good snacks and drinks and the on site shop is great.
I booked this hotel as a package holiday for my family of 2 adults and 3 kids (5, 8, 10). I felt our overall price was very reasonable so was a little worried as to what the hotel quality would be like. On arrival we were checked in promptly and given clear directions to our room by the smiley receptionist. I was worried at first as we are a family of 5 and our room was a one bedroom apartment. I was delighted that the apartment was large and well equipped with 2 single beds and a camp bed in the bedroom. Two sofa beds in the lounge. Safe is in room (€15 /week), kettle, toaster, microwave, hob, fridge, hairdryer., huge tv. (We stayed in club mac 7 years ago and had none of these, and would never go back there again, rip off) The room is a little worn but spotless and no insects !! Rooms were cleaned daily but we left the sign on door as there was no need for it some days. There are 3 pools that we enjoyed. The biggest pool is quite deep, 1.3 m at shallow point. However with armbands my 5 year old learned to swim and was so happy !! There were plenty of sun loungers (white base ones are most comfy) but for the best spots you need to be there for about 7 am which was no problem for us. The location is excellent, 2 mins from beautiful beach, shops, restaurants. Huge supermarket attached to hotel, hairdressers, nail bar, perfume shop right beside hotel . Lots of activities for kids and adults, shows, kids club, movie night, magic water carpet, adult aqua spinning, etc. Reduced price to Katmandu Park also (great place). We were just self catering but during our second week we realised we could pay for the buffet meals. We payed for breakfast and dinner on four days and were so impressed with the quality and choice. So much freshly cooked dishes and fresh whole fruits and salads. Wine, beer, soft drinks. We were surprised that breakfast varied daily too. The chef cooked omelettes to order. At dinner the chef cooked fish, chicken and steak in front of you too. We ordered slushies, cocktails and cider from the bar, and a large jug of sangria for a reasonable price on different occasions. We were served quickly even when the kids ordered on there own they were never left standing. Washing machine and dryer (€4/€3) on site came in handy and was always available for use. We want to return next year my son will be 11, so as we have 3 kids it will be our last time to be able to stay here as when he is 12 he will be classed as an adult and the room is only suitable for 2 adults and 3 kids under 12. When we return next year I will hopefully afford all inclusive but even if I can get half board or bed and breakfast I definitely will do so. Also I'd love a room with the solarium, they looked cool. My only things bad to say was that the beds were too hard or firm for us and the pillows were too hard also. I think really if there were a few soft pillows extra in the room then it would be perfect. Also a welcome pack regarding meal times and options would be ideal in the room. We appreciated being accommodated with our late check out (we stayed til 8 pm) for a reasonable fee 😀😀. Thank you to all the friendly, hard working staff for our perfect stay 😀😀
I enjoyed my stay at the Sol Alcudia. The room was clean and the location of the hotel is great also . The hotel has good facilities including a supermarket, pool, bar and restaurant. I didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on that.
My 16 yr old and I stayed at the Sol de Alcudia Centre. It was spotless clean and the rooms were large and airy. The staff were very helpful and have very good English. The supermarket was in the complex which made self catering very handy. I wasn't too keen on the pool bar. Would have liked to be able to have a sandwich with a drink but they didn't do food. Overall I would recommend this hotel and would happily return.
