Santa Clara Urban Hotel & Spa

The only noise came from the soaring swallows recently arrived. A great location within the old town and next to the cloister santa clara. Sympathetic renovation leaving exposed stone and archway features, shuttered windows and a fantastic view from the roof terrace. We had organised a birthday surprise for family and the staff were very helpful in keeping the secret and providing the birthday breakfast and cava. Good English and German spoken, baggage storage was no problem and bike hire is available from reception. Excellent breakfast spread.

Lovely boutique style Hotel with a family feel. Nothing too much trouble. Stunning location in shadows of the Cathedral in the old town, ideal for exploring the many cobbled back streets of Palma. We will definitely be going back as so much more to do and explore.

Boutique style hotel with contemporary designed rooms, converted from a large private house. Staff were all delightful and genuinely helpful. They accommodated every request very efficiently. All speak great English. The location is ideal for walking to all the sights of the city. They sell tickets for the "hop on hop off" bus tour. Spa is a little on the small side, but probably ok given the number of bedrooms. Every time we used it, we were the only ones there. Breakfast was excellent. The roof terrace with views over towards the cathedral is great for an evening drink (sadly in March it was a bit too chilly) Would recommend, and stay there again.

The hotel is very very nice. The location is perfect if you want to walk around Palma city center. The staff was very helpful and rooms are very nice. I really enjoyed the terrace as well! Only weak point is the Spa, but I must say I am a Spa addicted. The Spa is very small, the massage cabin is just a little big bigger then your massage bed. The therapist was not wearing a spa uniform, but just jeans and sporty shoes. If you are choosing the hotel for the spa, then I would not go.

We had a quite delightful four night stay - a nice spacious and super clean (and quiet) room where we slept like babies every night. The staff were great (especially the two women on the front desk) who made us really welcome, chatted and were interested in us and gave us superb recommendations for cafes and restaurants, they were only too happy to search on the internet for opening times, timetables and so forth, making our life much easier. We so nearly got the the spa (next time!), we took in the lovely views from the terrace ( but didn’t tarry as it was February!). Easy to walk everywhere we needed from the hotel and perfect for a warm up stroll to the sea front and then good long, flat runs in the morning. We didn’t have breakfast here frankly because the cafe recommendation was so good we went there every day. We would come back again with absolutely no hesitation.

This small hotel is perfectly placed for exploring the sights, shops and restaurants of old Palma. Only a few minutes’ walk from the Cathedral, the top restaurants & shops, the marina and even the bus/rail terminal for exploring Mallorca further. Its staff were, without exception, friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. The en-suite was very good with a terrific shower – with a quirky glass panel to the room for those who think showering should be a spectator event! We were grateful that the TV had no UK channels – heartily sick, as we were, of the non-stop Brexit bickering we’d had for what seems like ever! Breakfast was great, with an impressive range of choices. Although many of the hot selections were not to our taste, there were more than enough cold meats, cheeses, pate, fruit, nuts, cereals, yogurt and gorgeous breads to make up for it. I must also mention the delicious coffee – just how we like it and as much as you want. We really enjoyed the spa. Big enough for two, so nice and private. It was our first experience of a steam-room, and we must admit it was too hot for us. The rest, however, was spot on – especially the rather idiosyncratic shower which was strangely wonderful. We would advise anyone thinking of staying here to do so not in high season. It is always going to be better weather than the UK; there could be noise problems with other guests walking about above you; no queuing for a table at breakfast – or for a spa session. There’s very little traffic as the area has restricted access for vehicles, but the rooms at the rear are probably nicest. Ours was room 106 and it looked out on a handsome carob tree and a small garden area. Plus it got the lovely sunlight in the morning. Not quite so good are the one or two areas where things are looking a little tired. A star-crack in our wash basin where someone dropped something heavy, as well as a rusting shower screen frame in the en-suite. A wardrobe which was in need of a plinth to stop the door binding against the floor, and rather a lot of the breakfast bowls were chipped around the rim.

It was a very good hotel with helpful personal and nothing that we needed help with was to difficult to handle for them. Ít was close to the Cathedral and in thoose cosy quarters. We had a room towards the garden and that was nice and quiet. Our friends had one towards the street and there was some noice from traffic.

Selected on the Web we were very pleased with the location, quiet street, cleanliness, style, comfort and friendly, helpful staff. I would gladly stay there again and am pleased to recommend this as a delightful place to stay in Palma.

Hotel in good location very clean and neat. But don’t rely on GPS for driving here. Hotel should forward the easy directions to their guests to avoid the frustration. Average rating is for the lack of warmth or welcome from the staff; they never acknowledge their guests unless spoken to first. Also, minor point, glass wall in shower opening to the room allows more light into bathroom, but can’t turn on lights at night as will wake up sleeping spouse. So very bad design. TV has 800 channels but no English language channels for news.

Great location as very central but in a quiet area. Very friendly and helpful staff, great roof terrace and spa and rooms very clean and spacious. Breakfasts nice and coffees fab! Only 15 minutes to the airport so really convenient, we will be back!
