A great stay. Very comfortable room and welcoming staff. Slightly strange art...but so cool. Centrally located...shopping, food, music, hippie vibe, tourist sights, simply amazing! We stayed on the top floor, where there is a terrace bar and hot pool. Great place...highly recommended
On arrival we were greeted and made very welcome and shown to our room which was fabulous with a king size bed 42 inch tv a free to use Samsung smartphone in and out of the hotel, massive 4 x 8 metre bathroom with proper bath shower two sinks etc, The inclusive breakfast was extensive with free cava for Buck’s Fizz and fresh pressed your own oranges. Over the stay we had a free bottle of wine served in the room in a bucket of ice. A compact disk of soft music valued at 19.95€ .2 x bracelets . A 20€ voucher for drinks in the bars. A free sauna and steam room. The staff could not be more helpful . We most impressed and only metres from the old centre and cathedral would recommend to anybody who enjoys style
Puro Hotel is very different - beautiful old building lovingly restored and in a perfect position for city sights and numerous excellent bars and restaurants. Had a superb 4 day autumn break in this excellent hotel. Felt like valued guests from the time of arrival - every single member of staff was very friendly and efficient -did everything possible to make our stay memorable. The breakfast buffet catered for every taste and of superb quality. Beautiful roof and courtyard terraces which would be amazing in the summer.
The best thing about the Hotel is where it is, 5 minutes to the Cathedral and five minutes to the main shop street plus over 50 places to eat in 2 minutes, also the breakfast in the Hotel was one of the best we have had in any Hotel. The staff were helpful but just a couple of things the bedroom could have had a chair and it may sound silly but a extra waste paper bin would come in handy .
We chose Puro as it looked stylish and was right in the centre of Palma. Stayed on a Bed & Breakfast for three nights and did not use the Spa or the Restaurant. The Good 1. Location - fantastic 2. Breakfast - Very good and fresh 3. It was my birthday and I was presented with a bottle of wine in room. Nice touch. 4. Decor - edgy and very stylish 5. Beds are very comfortable. The Bad 1. Cleaning - room was cleaned on day 2 but four (yes four) dirty mugs from the downstairs coffee machine were left in our room on our return, We had to ask for 4 dirty mugs to be removed from a so called clean room! 2. One out of 3 power sockets broken in room 3. One out of two bedside lights broken and shade hanging loose supported by a broken bracket. 4. Generally my feeling is a poor attention to detail in delivery and operations - lacks passion The Ugly 1. The lighting in room is awful - my wife could barely see herself to make up. Good thing she is beautiful ;-) 2. Very limited storage. Hangers in open cupboard, but no drawers anywhere. Clothes stacked on open shelves. Good thing it was only a 3 day break! 3. No Coffee/Tea making facilities in room. If you are early birds (up before 8am) you have to ask to be let in to the dining area to use the coffee making machine! And you have to carry mugs of hot coffee from here into the lift and into your room. Quite messy. It really is unacceptable to have to plead for a hot drink and then carry it four floors to your room! 4. The sink - a "blade" style, I think they are called. This is 100% style over functionality. A truly awful thing to have to use. It does not hold water, and you have to keep water turned on to do anything. The sink - a wet area - was also the only surface to put makeup etc so a really stupid layout. 5. No English BBC, No English Al Jazera (but Arabic! Was available)Basically their satellite was not picking up key stations including a very popular German channel. Never ever been to a hotel with no notable English speaking TV stations. Thank god for the iPad/iPhone and online news! Staff we quite helpful and had promised to move rooms so we could get better TV channels but in the end they said there was no point in moving as the problem with the TV. I also pointed out in breakfast room that the only salt grinder was broken. It disappeared that day, and then reappeared still broken next morning! I did not complain about the bad bits as I just wanted to get on with a lovely break and did not want to be a serial complainer! All in all a great short break in a fantastic city. Puro looks good on the surface but dig underneath and there are a lot of bad and ugly bits. Next time in Palma we will choose a central hotel again, but it won't be Puro. I rate this average - Its a decent hotel but not great value compared to the level of expectations.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Puro Hotel! It is a beautiful hotel with a real feeling of calm and serenity. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful, rooms excellent, rooftop bar superb and breakfast provided everything we needed. Overall thoroughly enjoyable and we’ll definitely be back!!
We really liked the top restaurant and the food, very good. The hotel had a very nice breakfast, plenty to choose from and a relaxing place to sit. It is the perfect location if you want to stay in the central of Palma, close to everything. But remember the night life of Palma is close to the hotel. The hotel was not quite as fresh as we had hoped for. It starts to get worn, as noted in the bathroom. At the hotels web site the information was that they provided with free shuttles to Puro Beach with free of charge sunbeds and parasols as a guest staying at Puro Hotel in Palma. Therefore we were quite disappointed when we were informed that we had to pay for the sunbeds since we had booked our rooms through Booking.com. We spent the day at another beach club.
just spent 3 nights here . Just going to start with the negatives as want to end on a positive . The location is wonderful and right in the thick of the town , close to bars, restaurants , the cathedral and the marina . The staff are lovely . We had a suite and it was a breathtaking room , didnt want to leave . The breakfast was nice with a good selection. now the not so good points ...... the maids came into our room twice before we had time to get out of bed or put clothes on...one night she came in at 10.15pm and we had just gone to bed . too much emphasis on trying to sell you extortionately priced full size bottles of booze in your room and also its 44 euros to use the tiny packet of bath salts in the bathroom. It got to the point we dare not use anything in the room in case we got billed for it . the music piped around the hotel and on the roof deck eventually drives you potty, its in your ears all the time. we sat on the roof to chill but the music grinds on you after a while especially when you want some peace . drinks/snacks incredibly expensive now do request a room that is not overlooking the street or internal courtyards if you are a light sleeper or if you are not profoundly deaf as the noise carries into your room and you will have little peace until after 12 - 1 am . street noise is heard all night . ear plugs advised. but if you do not mind that its fine . but on the whole very positive visit , yes would highly recommend . the guy from Uruguay on reception is fab will be back
Stayed here for 6 nights. The location is great - as long as you don't have a car, it's nestled right in the alleyways of the old city, surrounded by bars & restaurants & a short walk to the marina & cathedral & the shopping areas. Check in was quite slow, mainly because the reception person was on his own & along with dealing with other customers had to keep answering the 'phone. At times there were 2 people there but often it seemed only one & then the wait to sort something out could take some time. We booked a junior suite which was large, generally well furnished with a funky bathroom. It had a huge round 2 person bath, a separate walk in rain shower & twin sized trough style sinks, plus a separate wc . The bed was huge & comfortable with lovely soft bedding. There was also a mezzanine flooring area upstairs but it seemed pointless, another TV was up there along with a small coffee table & 2 chairs & a concrete futon type bed with a cushion on. We went up there once when we checked in & that was it. The storage space for clothing was disappointing, a trolley type hanging rail with a shelf plus another trolley with shelves. No drawers anywhere & the thing we really missed was there wasn't a coffee maker in the room. (A perfect place to put one would have been in the otherwise unused mezzanine space?) There's lots of mini bar offerings - at a fee but surely a coffee maker is a staple nowadays? There was a fridge - full of mini bar items & a safe which was free to use. (some hotels on the island do actually charge for using the safe!) Disappointingly the room was pretty noisy each evening, a club area in the hotel is one floor down was drumming out bass on the Friday & Saturday nights until the early hours & one could also hear revellers making their way through the streets late into the night. At E200 a night not what we wanted. Perversely, the mornings were quiet so if you enjoy a lie in that was easily possible. The rest of the hotel is well decorated with funky touches, it's a labyrinth of stair cases etc & I imagine most rooms are different. Breakfast is a buffet affair & can be taken in an outside courtyard or in the breakfast room. The staff were at times slow to clear tables. The biggest complaint was there is only one very slow coffee machines, some days it took 10 to 15 minutes of queuing to get a coffee. Surely they could get a second machine? Upstairs there is a rooftop bar, closed in the day - but you can still use the area but the area is often closed to guests in the evening for private functions. Also a further level up are two separate sun lounger areas with double 4 poster beds with amazing views over the city. We spent a few afternoons up there & it was lovely although a few times they were already occupied & we couldn't use them. The views from there are fantastic. They advertise that they have 2 beach club areas and they run a shuttle to them both but what they don't tell you is unless you have booked your room direct with the hotel they charge you E25 each to visit them! Having paid a couple of hundred Euro's a night to stay there I think they could, should offer this to all guests free of charge. Checking out also took an age as there was only one person there and once again the phone kept ringing. 15 minutes to check out is too long for any hotel, I just want to settle up & go on my last day. Overall this is a good choice for the city but for the price there are plenty of other options I'd look at next time. Once is maybe enough here.
Staff were extremely helpful, rooms were clean and really nice . It's located right in the centre of Palma in a fantastic location. Just behind the big church in the centre. If I return I will be deffently staying there again . Thanks again Puro for a fantastic weekend .
