There is always plenty of sun beds every day.A large swimming pool and small pool for children. Good entertainment every night ,and waiter service .we will definitely be booking again in 2018 fantastic holiday. Terry and Jane rooney
Good hotel with nice family rooms. Really good food and really friendly staff. Large pool area with some problems to get a sun chair If your not up early reserving one. Perfectly placed directly on the beach.
Stayed here for my birthday at the beginning of July, and stayed in the new star prestige suites. I have to say they are excellent. The treatment and the quality of staff and facilities is great. Special thank you to the Bolivian waiter in the sky bar who was perfect, and as we arrived every morning brought us drinks he knew we would ask for before we even made eye contact... brilliant. Rooms are of great standard, and the maid service with the added goodies left in room is very nice touch. Highly recommend this hotel. One of the best I have stayed in the world. Just gets better every time, and will be returning again this August with younger children, will miss the sky bar! Thank you again S.fuller
Fantastic hotel we stayed there in June this year we were upgraded to the prestige star apartment.with its sky bar sun beds cabanas jacuzzis lovely snacks and cocktails. We where all inclusive the food in the serve you self restaurant was top class with lots of variety to chose from . Would deafanly recommend this hotel x
Lovely clean friendly hotel, perfect location right on the beach . Good variety of food at all meal times . Lots of different entertainment each evening and the bar out front is a calm atmosphere to sit back and relax . We found all the staff friendly and regularly walked around giving children free lollipops and fruit smoothie samples . Good sized rooms , only downside was there where no sunbeds on the beach
Hotel was lovely. Food excellent. And staff friendly and helpful. Are only issue was 2 of the rooms we booked had no balcony, so nowhere to dry swimwear or towels. This was not mentioned when we booked. I have never been to an all inclusive hotel that had rooms with no balcony.
We returned from this resort two weeks ago and as other reviews mention there are some positive and some negative aspects to this hotel. First of all we had to upgrade our room upon arrival because our first room was SO dated that we could not stay in it. Really depressive room. But after paying 130 euros we got a much better room, facing the sea and the most amazing view. We had to move after three days because water was leaking on the bathroom floor and it was dangerous for our two years old son. We were moved to another room which was alos nice but it was a headache to repack and open everything and move. Beds were just ok. Of course not the sofa and the underneath bed which were not good I believe *we did not sleep on them), house keeping was good, air condition working so so. You should consider that the whole building is old. Elevators, corridors, and even restaurants needs a fresh up. As others have mentioned you have to pay for safe in your room, deposit for towels and etc. There are to main pools and one small kids pool which was bit cold. But all the area was very clean. Food wise, well there is a lot of food but not the best quality. All smoothies were made with frozen fruits, the sea food night offered hundrads of lobsters but they were also frozen and not tasting good. Kids buffet was really boring and cold meats for breakfast also not tasty at all. We had stayed in 4 other Iberostar hotels in different countries and all of them had much better food than this one. But one of the chefs in dinner Alejandro if I remember right was really nice and generous with his portions :) Location wise it is perfect, the most gorgeous sea and amazing beach, nice view over the beach from bar and entertainment area. Staff and entertainment also very good, providing all kinds of activities for everyone. Drinks menu a bit limited for all inclusive and also you had to pay for some of the drinks. Will we return to this hotel? Most likely no, unless there is no other option. There is also a very nice nurse in the hotel which helps you free and if you need a doctor they call one for you. Of course you have to pay 90 euros for the doctor but it is worth it if you are desperate. Sleep quality
We stayed for 6 nights all inclusive in late May, so while the weather was great it was still a bit cold for swimming. Also the summer crowds hadn't yet arrived, so the issue that some people have mentioned with regard to loungers around the pool wasn't a problem for us. The food, as many have mentioned, was really good and quite varied, although I have to say that after 6 nights it was becoming a little monotonous. Our room was in an East facing block, which didn't get as much sun as we would have liked. I was also quite dated, although comfortable enough. Our daughter, her husband and infant son were in the North facing block, which had plenty of sun throughout the day, and had also been upgraded. The point being that it pays to make sure that you get a revamped room in the right position, it does make a difference. I was amazed to be charged a daily "fee" to use the safe in the room, I have never encountered anything like that in any other hotel, anywhere in the world! I think it was 3 or 4 Euros per day, if you consider that there are maybe 800 rooms in the hotel that's quite a little money spinner for them, but to me it's just a huge ripoff that put a sour taste in my mouth for the entire stay. Rather add 3 Euros to the nightly rate if you so desperately need that extra cash for your shareholders. We ended up having to pay their "fee" but it really felt a bit like extortion to me, since management was not prepared to take any responsibility at all should passports or mobile devices go missing. Shame on you Iberostar! The bar area was really nice and we spent a lot of time enjoying the view over the beach and bay, downing far too many beers and cocktails. The live entertainment laid on every evening was actually pretty good, we thoroughly enjoyed the shows. It's a pity that drinks, even cocktails, are served in plastic cups, I understand not allowing glass around the pool or on the beach, but would have enjoyed drinking from a glass when sitting in the bar area. So, it was a generally enjoyable stay, with good food, friendly staff and awesome surroundings, however being ripped off by having to pay for the use of a safe to store laptop, passports and mobile phones, was a big big negative. I won't be back purely because of that and cannot recommend this hotel.
Best summer vacation at the best hotel! We had an amazing time at the iberostar albufera ! The hotel has an incredible view on the best beaches of Mallorca! The water is crystal clear, you immediately feel like in the Caribbeans! The variety of the buffet is so huge and everything is more than tasty, especially the Spanish paella and the freshly squeezed smoothies during breakfast! Don't miss the yoga and Pilates classes if you are a fan of it as the trainer Natasha is the best trainer we have experienced! We truly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and a big thank you to the management team who always fulfill your wishes with a big smile! We will definitely come back next year!
We stayed at the Iberostar Alcudia Park from the 11th June for 10 nights. We travelled as a family - 2 adults and 2 children (4 1/2 and 18 months). If I could split the rating of this review I would. I had emailed the hotel through the Iberostar website twice, weeks before our trip to get no response which I thought was very poor. We travel a lot and I always email hotels beforehand with questions / requests. It just helps make things smoother when you arrive. Check in wasn't as swift as I'd hoped after the long bus journey from Palma. The computer system had picked up someone else's details with the same name. I asked for bed guards for the kids but was told I'd have to pay for these. We've stayed at other 4 and 5 star hotels and never had to do this. We were taken to our room by our bell boy. First impressions of the room were that it was old, dated and tiny! Nothing like the spacious pictures you see. As per a previous review, pictures are of the newly updated area which I believe is adults / couples only. Pity really because the whole hotel needs a revamp. So back to our room....There was one small room with two single beds pushed together. I rang reception to have the beds joined into a double. Big mistake. The cleaner spoke only in Spanish and didn't understand a word. We finally had the beds put together but only by using sheets! No mattress topper or anything to get rid of the gap! Then a man came and literally tied the beds together with cable ties to stop them from moving. Not what you need when you first arrive on holiday. The second bed wasn't even actually a bed...It was the sofa! This turned into two beds-one pulls out from under the other in the living area of the 'apartment'. Pain in the neck when firstly you don't have bed guards, and secondly you have to pull the beds out everyday to be able to have space to walk. All of the beds were rubbish. The worst beds I've ever slept in! You could feel the springs in them and they creaked every time you moved. My husband ended up sleeping on the pull out beds with our eldest son and I shared the other bed with our other son. Not how we expected to spend the holiday. The storage was also poor and there was no where to store 3 large suitcases. There was just about enough room for clothes and even then things had to be piled on top of each other. I believe the sleeping arrangements are the same throughout the hotel. You might get a bigger room but you'll still have to use the sofa bed. The bathroom was tiny. A very weird sized bath with a shower head over it. The bath didn't fit our two boys in comfortably. Again, something I've never seen before. The shower hose leaked and sprayed water sideways across the bathroom. We reported this and the hose was changed. Considering the amount we paid for this holiday, we were very disappointed with our room. We didn't use the safe in the room because once again, you have to pay to use it. Not what you expect from a 4 star hotel. Pool towels were provided but you had to provide a 10 euro deposit for each towel. You could change towels twice in a day. I don't understand why they didn't have a card system for towels like at other hotels we've stayed at...if you loose the card, you pay. Food was good and varied. We always managed to find something to eat in the buffet restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were all inclusive so you had soft drinks available and then red, white, rose wine and beer on taps. Not the best quality of alcoholic drinks. The restaurant was so hot. Way to hot to eat comfortably. We ended up sitting outside after a few days but it was a race to get a table outside as there weren't many. The staff in the restaurant were all brilliant and very helpful. My children were given many chupa chups lollies and whenever we needed full fat milk it was brought for us. Nothing was too much effort. The entrainment team were brilliant. They were great with the kids and provided a fantastic show in the evenings for the little ones. I had the honour of dressing as Stella one night as they ask 2 parents to do the role each evening. It was a lot of fun. The adult/later entertainment was also very good. One night we watched Arabian nights. I'm a massive fan of Aladdin and was so impressed. They did an amazing job. The paella day was also very good as was the pool party. The team work so hard to get everyone having fun. It was great to see. The actual kids club was a little disappointing for us. The indoor area was very small. When we've been away before we've always used the kids club to break the day up for our boys. Somewhere out of the sun and cool. Instead there was a large sandy area, but it was in the heat. It wasn't really possible to use the area this time. I did see kids enjoying the kids club where they had been left by parents but all the activities seemed to be outdoors. I'd personally want my kids to be out of the sun but that's just my preference. The beach is gorgeous. We spent every morning there. It's a public beach but you have access directly onto it. On our second day straw parasols were erected and sunbeds were put out, but we didn't know if these were hotels beds or whether you had to pay privately. Hence why we didn't use them. The sea is shallow and lovely for children. By the pool beds were quite cramped together and were usually all taken by 9am. You saw signs saying you can't reserve sunbeds but this definitely isn't observed and we didn't see anyone removing towels that had been left. For a hotel of this size, the pool area is quite small. One night there was an adults only party in the new block on the rooftop. I managed to go up for a short while. I'd definitely pay to stay in that area. If only the rest of the hotel was to the same standard... Overall the hotel staff are a credit to this hotel. They make it what it is. If it wasn't for the let down of the standard of room, this would have received a 5 star. It's a family hotel. Wouldn't recommend it got couples really as you'll just get annoyed by the amount of children when it's meal time. I wouldn't stay again unless the whole hotel was given a refurb which is a great shame.
