Stayed here on 4th September for 4 nights with my girlfriend. The room was lovely and clean and had a gorgeous view of the harbor/marina from the window. Everything in the room worked as it should and cannot be faulted but remember it is very simplistic but had everything we needed. The mattress was as many have said a little hard, but we still found that very comfortable indeed. Shower was amazing! 8 EUR a cocktail in the Sky Bar but well worth the money. Some of the best we have had. 2.5 EUR a beer. Not bad at all. Didnt eat in the hotel as we were room only but heard good reviews. Hotel reception staff were lovely. Couldnt do enough for us. Helped with recommendations for excursions and places to eat. Palma is approx 50 mins away and Cala D'Or is 5/10 mins away by car. Cala D'Or was approx 6 EUR in a taxi. Hotel is situated in Porto Petro. It is an amazing little village with a few shops, 2 supermarkets, some bars, some really good restaurants a breath taking beach and a stunning marina. Perfect location for a romantic couples holiday!!! If I decide to come back to Mallorca, I wouldnt go to any other hotel.

very rude staff, refused to let me see a room before I booked, smelled very bad of smoke and a dirty toilet then when the room was below standard refused to return my money. shocking. no management to answer problems, young rude staff who just shrug there shoulders when given a question.

we stayed for four nights and enjoyed this hotel it is clean and well kept the SKYBAR is nice with chill out music and ALHAMBRA lager which is lovely and 2.50 euro , the rooms are tidy and functional with air conditioning and wi fi works, the swimming pool is well kept just across the road , although listening to a Phil Collins CD on the PA system all day probably needs addressing The hotel is close to harbour and restaurants , we were self catering so never ate breakfast , also buses stop round corner for CALA DOR and PALMA

This hotel has been upgraded in recent years and provides great value for money - although its best point are the very friendly and helpful staff. It also has a swimming pool in a quiet location just over the road which is a great place to spend a few hours.

Stayed at the Varadero hotel for four nights with my partner and had a great stay. We were in the main hotels and had room with balcony. The room was large with a huge bed. Very firm but that's how I like it. It was very clean. Bathroom was a bit on the small side with the tiniest of sinks but shower was amazingly powerful. Staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious coffee from the coffee machine, mixture of cooked food and cereals, breads and fruit. Took a while to work out the toaster though but overall lovely breakfast. Sky bar served lovely cocktails where we tried a few. We had fantastic weather and spent most of my time sitting by the pool or taking trips out. The pool area was clean and sun beds plentiful and comfy if you are laying on your back but you can't lay on your front on them. Have been reading through some of these reviews and can't see why there were all the negative ones. Yes the pool was on the other side of the road but I've walked further in other hotels to get to the pool before. Yes the room was basic with just a rail to hang clothes and baskets to put bits in. And no there was no dressing table to sit at and no long mirror to look at yourself in. Nor were there pictures hanging on the walls. And yes two days a week they do not change your towels or make your bed. But come on people, really! I don't go holiday to spend all my time in a room trying to watch tv and be disappointed that I can see my clothes hanging up. I never change my towels or bed sheets daily and for those moaning that the hotel did not have 24 hour reception cover, spend a little more money and get a flight that doesn't get you in in the middle of the night. This was a lovely little hotel in a lovely area and would definitely stay there again.

We have been back to this hotel twice this summer as the staff are so helpful and friendly, and we are always made to feel so welcome. It is a pet friendly hotel and we always bring our dog with us, they always make a nice fuss of the dog too which is nice. Rooms are always clean, great quality and the skybar has amazing views for sipping those amazing cocktails. The pool area is lovely and we leave relaxed! Great find on the island and we will be back!!

The worst hotel I have ever been to. Rude staff, tiny rooms, COCKROACHES! The reception is not open after 12 so if you arriving after then you have to let them know. I did this and they replied saying that's fine but when I arrived (2am) there was no one there so I called the emergency number they provided and the woman who answered was so unhelpful and rude. I ended up having to wait from 3 in the morning til 8 for a room. The pool area is not connected to the hotel building its round the corner and up a hill. The bar/restaurant area is never open, you are told to go to the sky bar (which does not serve food). The whole Porto petro area is so boring and quiet the only decent thing to do is go on the starfish boat trip or get a taxi/bus to cala'dor. The maids are rude and barge into room early in the morning without asking and then rearange belongings and throw food away. The sun loungers are extremely uncomfortable and the pool bar food is not great. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had on holiday.

I don't usually write reviews like this however it's frustrated me how nice this hotel could be. It's in a lovely area, near to nice beaches and restaurants; but the hotel itself is not good. Firstly, don't be fooled by the name 'Hotel Deluxe' there's nothing deluxe about the hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 23:45, the information we had was that the reception closed at midnight. A lady on the desk advised they are now closed and she couldn't check us in. She was not helpful at all. She gave us a pack with a key in it and some instructions to find the room. The room (room 401) was pretty much down a back alley, not part of the main building. It was a very noisy room so we asked to move the next morning, which to be fair the hotel staff accepted our request straight away and we were moved. The room we were moved to was on the 2nd floor of the main building. It's was bigger and brighter and felt better than being left down the back street in the other room. However, the walls must be so thin, you can literally hear every sound. I'm not talking the sound of people in the bar etc (which I don't mind so much) I'm talking the sound of someone using the toilet, brushing their teeth, using the control for the air con, sneezing, farting etc etc...you get my drift. The toilet in the room stopped flushing day one, my partner played around with the flush button and managed to fix it. The view from the room was a brick wall, ok we didn't pay for a sea view room, but would have been nice to see something other than a wall. The maids clean your room around 9:30am everyday apart from Sunday and Wednesday..if you want a bit of a lie in you won't get one, they are loud. They also don't take no for an answer, even if you put the relax sign on the door handle. On two of the mornings on a trip the maid just came in, whilst we were getting ready to go out. I know not many people try and stay in bed for long on holiday but when you have horses at home, a 10am lie in is bliss! Didn't get that here. Also, beds are incredibly hard and I'll probably go and see my physio to sort my back out this week. Could have done with more than just a sheet as well. One thing I will say about the hotel is that it is clean! I've not seen one bug or come across any strange smells, which I've noticed people have in their reviews. The pool area is ok, again I felt like it could be made so nice! Paint the walls white and do a bit of gardening maybe, apart form that not too bad. Sun loungers are uncomfortable and need updating. Pool Bar ok, had snack once and it was expensive for what they gave us. Pool was clean as was the area itself. Pool is around the corner, not joined to the hotel. Wifi dosent reach most places in the hotel. The hotel staff (apart form the first lady) were lovely! Always smiling and helpful. All in all, my experience of this hotel did not ruin my holiday, because we are foodies and that's what we go away for really. I know I've sounded really petty and picky with this review but like I said this hotel could be amazing ... but it just wasn't.

Stayed here for a week and had a great time. The rooms are clean, spacious and the beds a bit hard but I like that. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the marina. The breakfast was ok, nothing special but it was sufficient. Nice, helpful and friendly staff. The pool area was great and the sky bar is a must! Enjoy this little gem. Would recommend and will come back.

Stayed here for nights. Varadero is in central Porto Petro close to all restaurants and the port. Walking to Cala d'or takes 30 minutes. The Italian receptionist was very nice and helpful. She helped us organise car rental and more. The lovely pool is across the road from hotel but not a problem at all. The hotels will not help call for taxi's so you gotta wait at the taxi stand down the street. Would return . Thanks Varadero
