Stayed here for 4 nights for a short break hotel nice and clean, staff were friendly, room was basic but ideal for the time we were there, bed a bit on the hard side, pool area was nice and quiet, went to the sky bar the drinks were a bit more expensive than the restaurants in the area.

We booked this break rather last minute and it was a cheap break away. The room was clean and the bed as mentioned in previous reviews was like a slab of concrete! Bathroom was tiny but adequate. Sky bar is overpriced and if the views weren't so beautiful I would say avoid it, we had cocktails on our first night, paid the bill then the following night we were told that we hadn't paid enough the first night so needed to pay again, needless to say we didn't return! Hotel receptionist is very pleasant and helpful although there is often no one around but a note on the desk saying back in 10 minutes - I waited over 20 minutes and gave up, this was at 7 pm.

Stayed 4 nights ; lovely little well priced hotel , feels like yesteryear transported into modern day . White stone, basic, clean, simple natural furnishings , no -fuss and great value BUT I must add NOISY ! Sadly the hip (trying to create Ibiza vibe) Sky Bar spoilt a peaceful break . My lovely white room with side harbour view suited me perfectly (on my own) but was above the bar area ,and though the music was supposed to finish at 12 , it went on way after with chairs scraping as staff cleared the deck. In the daytime , it was bliss (and empty) but if you want an early night , ask for a room way away from the bar ! The pool area is heavenly, a bit Zen ,and that was my retreat, again it is very simply fitted out (no bar service as mentioned on line) . Porto Petro is quaint and a bit off the general track with good restaurants ,old style Majorca yet near enough to Palma for more action , just an hours drive away .

It was a bit if a last minute holiday and we looked for something cheap, couple of hours plane journey away and adults only if we could. Hotel varadero fits it all, yes it is a basic hotel with minimal furnishing in the rooms. Beds were firm but we didn't mind that, the wardrobe just a rail and a couple of shelves, the bathroom was small and cramped, fine for slimmer guests, the shower was excellent very powerful. We had a little balcony where we could watch the sunrise and see the harbour. Cleaners were great coming in 5 times a week and keeping the room tidy and the whole hotel it was very clean everywhere. All the staff were helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was a wide variety of cereal, yoghurt, meats, cheeses, fruit, bread, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. Help yourself coffee machine for your hot drinks and cold fruit juices. The area is nice and quiet with plenty of good resturants a marina to look around and some good walks as long to the rocks. Walking to cala dor for more resturants took us 30 minutes and there is a bus timetable from reception. Thanks to all the staff at the Varadero for a lovely stay.

Stayed here on 4th September for 4 nights with my girlfriend. The room was lovely and clean and had a gorgeous view of the harbor/marina from the window. Everything in the room worked as it should and cannot be faulted but remember it is very simplistic but had everything we needed. The mattress was as many have said a little hard, but we still found that very comfortable indeed. Shower was amazing! 8 EUR a cocktail in the Sky Bar but well worth the money. Some of the best we have had. 2.5 EUR a beer. Not bad at all. Didnt eat in the hotel as we were room only but heard good reviews. Hotel reception staff were lovely. Couldnt do enough for us. Helped with recommendations for excursions and places to eat. Palma is approx 50 mins away and Cala D'Or is 5/10 mins away by car. Cala D'Or was approx 6 EUR in a taxi. Hotel is situated in Porto Petro. It is an amazing little village with a few shops, 2 supermarkets, some bars, some really good restaurants a breath taking beach and a stunning marina. Perfect location for a romantic couples holiday!!! If I decide to come back to Mallorca, I wouldnt go to any other hotel.

very rude staff, refused to let me see a room before I booked, smelled very bad of smoke and a dirty toilet then when the room was below standard refused to return my money. shocking. no management to answer problems, young rude staff who just shrug there shoulders when given a question.

we stayed for four nights and enjoyed this hotel it is clean and well kept the SKYBAR is nice with chill out music and ALHAMBRA lager which is lovely and 2.50 euro , the rooms are tidy and functional with air conditioning and wi fi works, the swimming pool is well kept just across the road , although listening to a Phil Collins CD on the PA system all day probably needs addressing The hotel is close to harbour and restaurants , we were self catering so never ate breakfast , also buses stop round corner for CALA DOR and PALMA

This hotel has been upgraded in recent years and provides great value for money - although its best point are the very friendly and helpful staff. It also has a swimming pool in a quiet location just over the road which is a great place to spend a few hours.

Stayed at the Varadero hotel for four nights with my partner and had a great stay. We were in the main hotels and had room with balcony. The room was large with a huge bed. Very firm but that's how I like it. It was very clean. Bathroom was a bit on the small side with the tiniest of sinks but shower was amazingly powerful. Staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious coffee from the coffee machine, mixture of cooked food and cereals, breads and fruit. Took a while to work out the toaster though but overall lovely breakfast. Sky bar served lovely cocktails where we tried a few. We had fantastic weather and spent most of my time sitting by the pool or taking trips out. The pool area was clean and sun beds plentiful and comfy if you are laying on your back but you can't lay on your front on them. Have been reading through some of these reviews and can't see why there were all the negative ones. Yes the pool was on the other side of the road but I've walked further in other hotels to get to the pool before. Yes the room was basic with just a rail to hang clothes and baskets to put bits in. And no there was no dressing table to sit at and no long mirror to look at yourself in. Nor were there pictures hanging on the walls. And yes two days a week they do not change your towels or make your bed. But come on people, really! I don't go holiday to spend all my time in a room trying to watch tv and be disappointed that I can see my clothes hanging up. I never change my towels or bed sheets daily and for those moaning that the hotel did not have 24 hour reception cover, spend a little more money and get a flight that doesn't get you in in the middle of the night. This was a lovely little hotel in a lovely area and would definitely stay there again.

We have been back to this hotel twice this summer as the staff are so helpful and friendly, and we are always made to feel so welcome. It is a pet friendly hotel and we always bring our dog with us, they always make a nice fuss of the dog too which is nice. Rooms are always clean, great quality and the skybar has amazing views for sipping those amazing cocktails. The pool area is lovely and we leave relaxed! Great find on the island and we will be back!!
