We booked a package deal through Jet2. Travelled with my husband and 2 sons aged 9 and 6. The transfer time was listed as 1 hour 45 minutes; in the end it was only 55 minutes, however on the way back to the airport it took 2 hours 5 mins as picked up in alcudia as well as can picafort. We were staying in an apartment which was in a different building across the road, less than a minute walk but we hadn't realised it wasn't on the same site as the hotel. The apartments were good and clean although a bit more storage space needed. The apartment walls are very thin and unfortunately we had neighbours who played loud music from 8am thankfully only waking me not the kids as we put them in the back room away from the noise outside. The food was good quality and lots of choice but mostly Mediterranean choices and not a huge amount for kids but depends how fussy you are. we all found something to eat every night. We went all inclusive, only small complaint with this is that the kids could only have little pots of ice creams no other ice creams of ice lollies included but minor complaint! For all inclusive guests there is an area where you can help yourself to Beer, soft drinks, slushies and hot drinks as well as fruit and pastries. The kids club staff were great but not a huge amount of activities for them to do, my kids were only English in it, all others German but staff spoke good English and kids enjoyed it. Thre is a pool table that costs 1e and free table tennis outside. The evening entertainment wasn't great, there was a kids disco every night where most of the songs were in German then some other kind of entertainment, there was a mime artist which wasn't very good, then bingo, then a music act which was good. There are 2 pools, one is very deep and mostly for lane swimming only the other is shallower with a small paddle pool and bubble pool, always sun beds available and no issues with people reserving sun beds etc.we stayed by the smaller pool as it was better for the kids but it was still very deep for my 6 year old even though he can swim and it was very cold. The spa is free to use for guests and this is great, sauna, hot tubs, flotation pool and many other things, really great that we could use it any time and there is a set time for children over 7 to use it as well, made the most of this when the kids were at the kids clubs. You could take your own towels or pay 1e to use one of theirs. The resort is lovely, San Baulo beach is just across the road, and plenty of shops around, 15 min walk along the front to get to Can picafort centre where there is a bigger beach and lots of shops and bars. We got the bus to Alcudia for a day which was great only 1.80e per person one way, and the old town is worth a trip as well as the beach and resort.
We’ve been to some places individually and together but this place has everything you will ever want and need. After the transfer journey from hell, we arrived to a glass of bubbly on arrival and the dining hall to relax why the reception staff did all of the check in necessities for us. We’d booked a superior room for a week as a bit of a last minute holiday and we are glad we chose Janiero. The room was great, spacious enough, balcony and amazing view of the sea and beyond clean. Credit to the cleaning staff because the hotel is big but they don’t skimp on daily cleaning, they’re extremely thorough and take pride in their work. The facilities are superb. Literally, superb. They have a casual pool to relax in when you’re a tad hot and a training pool for casual swimmers and elite athletes (there are a lot of triathletes). The poolside is kept spotless, with regular spot checks and the lifeguard ensuring umbrellas function properly, things are clean and everyone’s safe etc. The gym is great, a big space with racks, weights, cardio and yoga space with daily classes on the beach front (spin class). The spa is amazing and to be included in the price, even more so. After a long day of relaxing you can head in there for a sauna, steam room, Turkish bath, hydro pool, flotation the list goes on.. all for nothing (yes, I know you’ve paid for your holiday blah blah blah). Also, if you’re having concerns about the number of sunbeds etc, don’t worry, there are tonnes, big proper ones too not flimsy plastic ones. You’ll be fine and there is a no reservation policy (leaving your towels on the bed and leaving) showing that you needent worry. The food, is great. There is options for veggies and vegans, more selection than you could shake a stick at. The staff are swift in cleaning around, there’s no mess, flies etc that you get at some places and they’re so so friendly. Happy to chat and fulfil all of your needs. We literally have never been so happy with hotel food. 24 hour station around 3 big eating times, if you’re complaining, you’re doing it for complaining sake. The hotel has a great entertainment team, they run Spanish lessons in the day, dance classes, Zumba classes, a kids club that goes ahead even if there’s only one child, the staff are amazing. I review a lot of places and can honestly say I’ve never seen such dedicated staff. That goes for the bar staff too. A friendly face is key and they work tirelessly day in day out dipping between languages English, Spanish, Dutch, German... they’re brilliant. The attention to detail is incredible, a gardener coming in everyday just to change flowers. I’m not overly taken by them but the little things you notice just go a long way. All in all I could talk about it all day. If you’re reading this I hope it helps. Book this hotel! This is our first time but we’re already looking to come back in August and October amongst other trips planned. Hope to see you here soon :)
We came here on recommendation and were not disappointed. We did manage to get a good deal via Jet2 who allowed us to take bikes on the plane and on the transfer for a reasonable fee. The hotel at this time of year is not for the Brit looking to get on the beer all week. Seriously though, this is an excellent location to come and catch up on some warm weather Triathlon/cycling/running/swimming training. The location is just a couple of hundred metres from the beach. The room was cleaned to a high standard with a balcony and all the regular expected additions. We stayed half board as we were out on the bikes during the day. The food choices were excellent. If you want a full English go to Alcudia! Breakfast and evening meals were both busy but there was always enough to go round and the staff were exceptionally helpful and most spoke several languages but having said that a little Spanish goes a long way. This is a multi national hotel with Brits, Germans, Dutch, Russians, Croatians, Latvians, Swiss, Swedish, Danish you name it they were here. It was a pleasure to stay at a hotel full of like minded people. Breakfast was busy as most wanted to get out for the day early and dinner was a relaxed affair with most people back in their rooms by ten. At no point were we woken up by drunken louts at stupid o’clock singing and fighting and at no point all week do I think heard anyone in the hotel swear! The 25 metre pool is great for training and the Spa is excellent for post exercise recovery and the massages came highly recommended. If you bring your own bike then there is an underground garage over the road from the hotel which cost about €17 a week and our only grumble was the rudeness of the large gent on the garage reception. I think it is run by an ex pro Spanish cyclist and he was great. If you want to get some serious training in! then this is the place to go especially if you don’t want to be over populated with Brits on the booze.
Me and partner came here for a holiday and we have had a lovely time. Room is beautiful we were on the first floor looking at the pool very clean with a free fridge and coffee machine. The staff at the hotel are very welcoming from the receptionists to the bar staff to the waiters. The spa is amazing would of been even better if kids had a certain time to go in. The food was lovely and there is a very wide selection but by the last couple of days is became very repetitive. I only had a couple of issues one being because we were all inclusive we got cheap booze at the bar were people who were paying for the real stuff. Another issue I had was how loud the maids were on a morning. As I work early mornings I look forward for a lie in on holiday but the maids made it quite impossible as they were walking round the halls as early as half 8 talking and shouting to each other. Apart from that I have had a fab time and I would defo return to this hotel in the future.
Booked via teletext and expecting a room in the hotel we were told that we had an apartment which is a different building entirely. There weren't any concierge at the apartment lobby but the rooms were lovely. I'm sure they'd be great for families and groups of friends. Lovely walk in shower room style shower. Heating was not working in the first apartment and we were swiftly re roomed. Decent amenities: fridge, microwave, cooker. No real fault of the apartment. Concierge team at main lobby weren't great though seemed a lot more concerned with their other (older) guests and we often stood waiting for quite some time for them to finish their phone calls. In short the apartment and AMAZING spa saved their poor customer service from the front desk. Lovely kitchen and cleaning staff though shame about lobby staff.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The hotel staff were very welcoming. I booked this holiday to celebrate my birthday but I don't think I experienced the Wow factor. I was a little disappointed! Nevertheless, I had an amazing holiday. We had something to do everyday. Some staff speak very good English and some do not. The waiting staff were very nice and understand some English. The food wasen't the best but not the worst. In personal opinion the food is for a more European taste (German/Dutch). Me and friend only went for the bed and breakfast option. At breakfast there are lots of options. Eggs, toast, pancakes, cereal and fruit. We paid €15 each for the dinner buffet. I didn't think the evening menu was great. I had the paella and a few other dishes. The food was warm. Personally I like my food hotter. I really disliked the desserts at the buffet. I thought they were very poor. The rooms are lovely and clean. The towels are changed regularly. The bathroom!! I really did not like the glass partition. The spa and pool are lovely. Me and friend had the whole spa to ourselves for 2 hours during our stay. It was great!! The entertainment was great fun. Each night there was something to do.The music quiz was so cheesy but lots of fun. The bingo was good as well but we only got one round. It would have been good to have a few rounds. Palma!!! Palma was amazing. We took the bus from the hotel down to Palma. This costs around €6.50. The journey takes around 1 hour. You get a good view of the island. We visited the Hard Rock Cafe, the port and Palma cathedral. It was lovely! The views are magnificent. Please note that the hotel is around 19km from the airport. This will cost you between 70-90 euros in a private taxi transfer. If you are coming from the Uk it's best took book a coach transfer. Please check the final bill as you are leaving the hotel. By mistake a few extra charges had been added to my bill. Unfortunately, I had an early flight so I didn't notice these charges until I left the hotel. (Very happy to discuss these charges via email). I really had a nice time at this hotel. I felt very safe and very welcome. If your looking for a quick break and to explore Spain on a budget. This is definitely the hotel to book. Diane
Booked a week here thinking the bad reviews were probably just an over exageratiion..... there not! The reports of this hotel being over run by ignorant Germans is TRUE. Reception, bar staff and the manager all useGerman as first language when speaking to you. The TV was always on in German and god forbid you change it. The food is poor at best and yes geared towards the German taste. The room s were nice but rather odd having a window in that looks at the beds. Enough said there. The bottom pool is ICE cold and not heated. The top pool is not a family pool but has lanes in they don't like you having fun or jumping in. To put it simply if your not German don't stop here. Save yourself a load of grief and disatisfaction....
A very nice looking hotel. Friendly reception. Bedroom very nice but did not like the glass partition between the bathroom and bedroom. Also, some of the towels were well below 4-star standard. Despite leaving a "tidy room" sign on door, room not cleaned after five hours. The first night of our stay was the Three Kings Fiesta (6 January) and the food was outstanding - 5 star or better. But thereafter, whilst the quality was good, the selection and choice was very poor and we have had better choice in many 3 star hotels ... never been in a hotel before that did not offer a cake or gateau for dessert - only a 'not fully defrosted' apple strudel...
Our first holiday with our 15month old girl and it was a great holiday. the hotel offers a free shuttle service from the airport if you book direct with the hotel, this was much appreciated but in hindsight for us personally after a late night flight our wee woman was wrecked and we were the last stop on the service, would be no problem during the day but something to consider if you have little ones with you. We found the hotel clean and tidy and really had everything we needed. the staff were friendly and took time to speak and play with our daughter. We were half board and found this more than sufficient for our needs. breakfast was great and really set you up for the day, dinner was good though I did find the options a little limited at times, some nights were better than others, but I never starved. would definitely return to the hotel and glad it was such an enjoyable first family holiday.
I visited Mallorca offseason and couldn't be happier in choosing this hotel. I went for an all-inclusive option and was very happy. The food was excellent and the staff very attentive. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I'm back to this corner.
