Booked a week here thinking the bad reviews were probably just an over exageratiion..... there not! The reports of this hotel being over run by ignorant Germans is TRUE. Reception, bar staff and the manager all useGerman as first language when speaking to you. The TV was always on in German and god forbid you change it. The food is poor at best and yes geared towards the German taste. The room s were nice but rather odd having a window in that looks at the beds. Enough said there. The bottom pool is ICE cold and not heated. The top pool is not a family pool but has lanes in they don't like you having fun or jumping in. To put it simply if your not German don't stop here. Save yourself a load of grief and disatisfaction....

A very nice looking hotel. Friendly reception. Bedroom very nice but did not like the glass partition between the bathroom and bedroom. Also, some of the towels were well below 4-star standard. Despite leaving a "tidy room" sign on door, room not cleaned after five hours. The first night of our stay was the Three Kings Fiesta (6 January) and the food was outstanding - 5 star or better. But thereafter, whilst the quality was good, the selection and choice was very poor and we have had better choice in many 3 star hotels ... never been in a hotel before that did not offer a cake or gateau for dessert - only a 'not fully defrosted' apple strudel...

Our first holiday with our 15month old girl and it was a great holiday. the hotel offers a free shuttle service from the airport if you book direct with the hotel, this was much appreciated but in hindsight for us personally after a late night flight our wee woman was wrecked and we were the last stop on the service, would be no problem during the day but something to consider if you have little ones with you. We found the hotel clean and tidy and really had everything we needed. the staff were friendly and took time to speak and play with our daughter. We were half board and found this more than sufficient for our needs. breakfast was great and really set you up for the day, dinner was good though I did find the options a little limited at times, some nights were better than others, but I never starved. would definitely return to the hotel and glad it was such an enjoyable first family holiday.

I visited Mallorca offseason and couldn't be happier in choosing this hotel. I went for an all-inclusive option and was very happy. The food was excellent and the staff very attentive. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I'm back to this corner.

Nice room, not huge but not small either, very comfortable. Simple but stylish. Coffee and a large bottle of water complimentary in my room, helpful reception clerk checking people in quickly. A couple of blocks from the water, good gym at partner hotel (one block away), breakfast and dinner buffet provided plenty of options. Overall good value, I was happy with my stay.

I only stayed four nights and then headed to palma. This is a typical touristic resort. Very slow check in. Close to the beach, but not really a sea view room. Great pool. Food was ok but a bit tasteless and I have never tried so bad juices for breakfast. Water from the tap tasted bad. Sometimes it was loud at night. The hotel is geared to germans, in four days I only spoke once to an english couple.

The price of this particular hotel or of many other hotels in changes with time. It varies from your price to plus or minus 100 Euros at the time of booking. So beware to change it for a week continuously if you want to save. The hotel itslef is sufficient in terms of food, space and utilities. The beds were arranged to make a double bed for us and felt very comfortable and soft on the insides. The sea view of the Balcony was partially hidden by the buildings in the front. Spa was small and sad. Food at the restaurant were all a buffet with different varieties everyday. Breakfast was the most special for us. I would suggest to add more vegeterian varieties into the menu. The evening shows were entertaining and creative.

Third year return to Janiero Staff couldn’t be friendlier Food varied and all tastes catered for Spa lovely All areas cleaned constantly Cycle garage really handy Stayed 5 nights Location perfect for beach or heading off onto the lanes

We loved this hotel, it was clean and had lots of facilities and was excellent value for money. We arrived very late at night and the man on reception was very friendly and cheerful. We were in room 317, on 3rd floor right at the end of hotel, which gave us a view of pool and the sea and the street. I have included photos. The bathroom had a walk in shower, no bath, hairdryer, lots of toiletries. There was a safety deposit box in wardrobe which said to insert key, remove and enter code, I couldn't get it to work not sure if you had to pay extra as we were only there 2 days we didn't worry. There was a coffee machine and a selection of coffee pods and teas. A large bottle of water was provided which we just put in the fridge. Lots of hangers in the wardrobe. Wifi was available downstairs and by the pool, you had to pay extra for wifi in your room, not sure if it was €2 a day or per stay as we just made do with the free wifi. If you stood at far end of the balcony there was public wifi available from somewhere. The pool was very quiet, but we weren't sure if this was down to it being near the end of the season or not. The spa was lovely and a great addition to the hotel, even when very busy there was always something available to use. The spa provided a towel and shower cap for €1 or you could pay €10 euros for a spa towel for your whole stay and got the €10 back when you returned the towel. I have included photos for prices of treatments, we didn't use these. We went bed and breakfast and there was plenty of choice for everyone. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the beach and its sister hotel where the gym is located. We sat out on the leather couches one night watching the world go by and listening to the singer in the sister hotel (Concorde) from the Janeiro, so we decided to walk down to Concorde and I'm so glad we di as they had the most beautiful cocktail on special offer, strawberry mojito only 3.75. Also on a Friday the market starts in the street just down from the hotel. Only 2 criticisms (which are small) the morning we were checking out the maid did knock the door early to clean our apartment, thought this was a bit silly as we were checking out that day. Also the maids were out and about early but there was a sheet in room to say what time you would prefer them to come at. The 2nd, it was very windy on our last morning and I could hear a banging like a letterbox banging, going on for hours. I only realised when I got up to answer door to the maid that it was the actual window pane in the bathroom window frame that was making the noise. So couldn't be helped by hotel until someone told them, then again it didn't happen until 3rd morning when the wind was really strong. We will definitely return, Son Baolo is lovely quiet little enclave off c'an picafort, so not the place to go if you are looking lots of entertainment and a lively resort. We were there 22 years ago, it hasn't changed very much and we will not be leaving it 20 years to return.

We stayed at the Hotel Janeiro earlier this month on a two week cycling holiday. The rooms are very comfortable and serviced daily by their efficient and friendly cleaning staff. (Leaving sweets each day was a nice touch!) The food on offer in the restaurant is excellent with plenty of choices and, again, the staff are exceptionally efficient and friendly. There is the opportunity to eat in the large restaurant, or in the outside area which is slightly cooler on a hot day. Soon after we arrived we decided that we would prefer a quieter room on the road side of the hotel and the reception staff couldn't have been more helpful. We had a wonderful two weeks cycling in the surrounding countryside, visiting various towns and enjoying the odd 'cafe con leche' in the squares. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, whether you're a cyclist or not, and we're already looking forward to our next visit!
