We spent 11 days in the new Suite Hotel belonging to Sabina Hotel in Cala Millor, Mallorca for the second time. (First time in 2016!) The suites are new and perfect - we had the larger one with extra living room and tv in sleeping and living room and two balconys with seaside view. On the top of the house you enjoy the new pool and whirl-pool with sun-beds and free drinks and also seaside view. Our half board we had in the main Hotel Sabina just over the street and this was also OK.(Buffet int Morning and Evening) Everthing is clean in the hotel and the staff ist very friendly and helpful alltime. We had a good time and will come again next year.
So.....we found this hotel on an English travel website (unable to name!) and liked the look of this 4* hotel. Unfortunately nothing stipulated that this hotel was actually only suitable for German holidayers. We rocked up only a few days ago and write this review as we sit in the hotel bar watching a flamenco show (in German!) we have been pretty much isolated since our arrival as we are the only English people in the whole hotel, the signs are all in German, the entertainment is all in German, the staff only speak Spanish and German and if you don't like German breakfasts then it certainly isn't right for you! We have always been a couple that like getting dressed up for dinner after a day by the pool however this obviously hasn't gone down too well with our fellow hotel customers who like to stare and have a good grumpy gawp whenever we walk around, we have even taught ourselves a few comments to politely ask people not to stare so much (if you get my drift ;) ) Don't get me wrong the hotel is very clean and fresh in a beautiful location with one very sweet cute little Spanish maid that likes hoovering before 8am but it is just not suitable for any English. One other downfall we have found is that hot showers are non existent between 8am and 9am but if you like cold first thing then that's great! Saying this however we did have a chat with a local English bar owner who did tell us that brits are unfortunately the minority here with very few places to stay so if you're thinking of Cala millor then it's probably best to hot up on the local German language of love prior to your arrivals!!! We are unlikely to return but Cala bona beach has been nice!
We visited the hotel in the last week of the season. The staff still was very friendly and helpful. To the beach you only need to cross the small promenade. The horel is located very central and not in the main horel area of Cala Millor, so you even see some locals between the tourists. ;) The rooms were bright and the bathroom seemed to be renovated just a couple of months ago. We would come back for our next Mallorca trip.
Great hotel stayed for a couple of nights last year April and also April 2011. Good value for money & next to a very beautiful beach, plenty of restaurants and bars near by. Travelled as a couple, would recommend
ALL single rooms are at the BACK of the hotel, with no sea view. See my pictures for the view from the single rooms !! Other than the single room view issue (BIG ISSUE!), it's a good hotel in a good location. The promenade around the hotel is particularly lively. You have free WiFi, including in the room. When I stayed there 99% of guests were German. Even the elevator speaks German ! There is some evening entertainment: the flamenco show is very good, on two nights there was a singer, on other nights bingo or a movie. There is a nice terrace on the roof. For a refundable deposit you get a beach towel.
Lovely hotel, very clean, helpful staff. We stayed bed and breakfast, and the morning buffet for fine, catered for all and plenty of choice. Rooms kept spotlessly clean. Can't really fought this hotel, the only small grumble, is all the signage, T.V. is in German but this wasn't a problem for us.
4 night stay end of Sept, very friendly helpful staff especially Jose who worked as a waiter on the bar. Very clean everywhere and plenty of sun loungers round the pool . Central position Only ate breakfast which was buffet style , with an excellent choice. High percentage of German people at the hotel which leads to the reserving of sun loungers.
Lovely hotel, great staff, delicious food. Close to beach, bars and restaurants. We stayed for bed and breakfast. Hotel was spotlessly clean. All staff in the bar were helpful especially Jose the lovely bar waiter. Only downside was the grumpy Germans, as usual, towels on sunbeds before dawn and not returning until afternoon. Think hotel was geared to atract them.
We came here wondering what it was going to be like.... We were pleasantly surprised- very relaxing, staff very helpful and the pool was lovely. Negatives - food was a bit repetitive, people reserving beds but not using them until later. Our room floor was filthy - we wore flip flops permanently However despite the negatives we had a great holiday
We have just returned from a 2 week stay in this hotel and we had a great holiday! The hotel is situated in a fabulous position right in the centre of Cala millor. The view from the hotel was beautiful, and we were surrounded by shops bars and restaurants. Although we were the only two Brits in the hotel we were made very welcome! It seems the resort is more favoured by German and dutch tourists. The bar staff in particular Jose, Sergio and Manuel made us very welcome and laughed and spoke with us every day, we especially enjoyed their company! So if we returned to calla millor we would certainly return to this hotel.
