Hotel Roc Boccaccio3.0 out of 5.0

This Hotel absolutely made our holiday. The facilities were great, staff very helpful, particularly as the Thomson Rep was useless and had never heard of The Boccaccio! The choice of food and drink was fantastic and the pool and closeness to the beach couldn't have been better. Only downside was the inability to get sun beds at the pool or beach but bought 2 Lillos for about £5.00 which solved the problem. Must be the best hotel in Alcudia.
We arrived at the hotel tired and hungry. There was a few minutes left until the restaurant closed so the reception staff looked after our cases and allowed us to go and eat before checking in. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the bar next door but with an adjacent view of the lake. Family of 3 we were allocated a double room with a z bed which made the room a little cramped but realistically, how much time do you spend in your room other than sleeping? The rooms we saw needed a bit of updating but were adequate and it was cleaned and towels can be changed every day if you wish. The food was fab with lots of choice and plenty for every taste. The restaurant staff were very helpful and quick to clear your used plates ready for your next course. We were fully inclusive, drinks were self service in the restaurant, soft drinks and tea/coffee/hot chocolate were self serve in the bar too. Alcoholic drinks/ slush and cocktails were served by the staff. It was stated that served drinks could only be available 2 at a time which just meant you would have to go back for another drink, however they did not enforce the rule every time. The outside bar/entertainment area was great and lots of tables. The chill out bar was great and had brilliant views of the lake. The entertainment was pretty good with a variety of shows. Our daughter went to the Rocky Club to do activities a few times and attended the mini disco religiously. The entertainment staff are lovely and not at all pushy, you joined in if you wanted to. The pool area was adequate, could maybe do with a few more loungers but there is a separate sun deck if you didn't want to laze by the pool - there was always free loungers there. The pool was great for our 6 year old who can swim and there was a children's pool which was small and shallow for the little ones. The hotel is situated on the main route through this part of Alcudia so plenty of shops bars and restaurants. Less than 5 minutes away is the beach with its shallow waters. We found that the beach was usually busy but still space to spread out your towels. The hotel Beach Bar was brilliant. We could get drinks, snacks, and event a buffet lunch. with clean toilets this was a real find. We installed ourselves on the beach and had everything we needed just a few metres behind us at the bar. Overall we had a fantastic family holiday at this hotel/resort.
Arrival: Me and my family arrived at Roc Boccaccio and I liked the look of it. We did have to spend a lot of time filling out forms but it was fine. They said we could have supper so we went in the restaurant and had some cold bread, cheese and lettuce. We got our room key and went up to the room. Rooms: The rooms are clean with a nice layout and view. The balcony's quite small but you can see a lot. The cleaner's come in to clean them and I think they do a great job. They supply you with fresh towels, toilet roll, and they make your bed. The cleaners are friendly, and we didn't have a rude experience. The air conditioning works great but the shower taps don't stay to one temperature for very long. Food: The food was good, but I think they should have bigger signs to show whether there is meat in something if you're vegetarian/vegan. Breakfast, lunch and tea are good, with a nice view of the lake. Entertainment: The entertainment was interesting. They have something different on every night. It's mostly good, and they put a lot of effort into it. The pool can be used any time of the day, but there's no life-guard at night. Staff: The staff are nice and welcoming. They make you a part of the hotel and they are multilingual. They're also not afraid to help you in any situation. I would recommend staying here, and I would go back. *If you need to shop for supplies, the supermarket located on the right hand side as you are leaving the hotel, on the same street, is fantastic. The prices are the cheapest for a lot of the same items you will find in the souvenir shops. Additionally, the staff are the friendliest and most helpful that we encountered within any store on the island during our entire trip.
Am presently at this hotel ,and must strongly disagree with some negative comments on here .we were made welcome From the minute we got here ,the reception spoke to us in English and even took our cases and sent us to have some food , The food is ok and always something to eat ,there is a diverse clientele and the entertainment is varied and multi lingual. We are a party if 7 and feel very relaxed well fed ,and watered. The beach is only a couple of minutes away and the added benefit of the hotel beach bar which is very welcome, for drinks Etc,they also do a lunchtimes menu if you stay on the beach , Overall three days into our all inclusive stay we are relaxed ,fed, watered ,and made very much to feel part of the hotel . We would return to this hotel in the future ,
Just got back from an all inclusive week at this lovely hotel. I was a little worried after reading some crappy reviews but i can honestly say we loved it here. Rooms: Spotlessly clean, great air con. The only negatives would be that the shower over the bath was a little awkward to use due to its positioning and the bath itself was a little rusty in parts. Beds are very firm but that didnt stop me sleeping :) Pool: Lovely pool area especially if you have toddlers as it has a life guard in duty and the children's section of the pool is only 0.60m deep and its a small area which makes it safer in my opinion. Sun loungers around the pool were easily available up until about 9.30am plus they have an upper sun deck only a flight of stairs away from the pool area with loads of sun loungers and a view of the lake area. Food: Delishhhhhhh ! Honestly they have something for all tastes. Theres salads, cheeses, cold meats, pastas, various pasta sauces, hot meats and fish dishes, chips and veg, different breads, soooo many desserts plus hot and cold drinks. Breakfasts include bacon, fried eggs, boiled eggs, cheeses, cereals, croissants, pastries, yoghurts, fruit and so much more. There is a small snack counter for in-between meals which has some pastries, bread, salami, cheeses and salad items. Plus there is thr beach bar which also serves lunch and drinks. Trust me, you wont go hungry and you will probably go up a dress size as the food is so good haha! Bar: Drinks at the bar are served from 10.30am until 11.30pm plus there are drinks machines and a beer pump in the restaurant for meal times. You can have machine made cocktails and slushies, just ask for extra rum/vodka or whatever you like and they will add it. You can have san miguel on tap and locally produced spirits plus wines, sangria, soft drinks, water, fruit juiced and hot drinks. Beach bar closes about 5.30pm i think. My only negative about the bar is you can only get 2 drinks per person ordering at the hotel bar. Can be awkward if you need to get your toddler and partner a drink but i explained to the bar lady that my 2 year old isn't going to order himself and she reluctantly served me his water. I understand if i was asking for 3 alcoholic drinks but i wasnt. Plus later that day she served another guy 8 shots so maybe its favouritism. Ideally, Roc needs to amend their bar signage to state '2 alcoholic drinks at a time' that would make things easier for patrons with small children. Location: Slap bang on the main street and less than a 5 min walk to the beach so its in a perfect position. Hopefully this review helps give others a clearer idea of what to expect. Highly recommend and cant wait to return! :)
We arrived in the evening after food had closed, but was told we could go to the resteraunt for something to eat. Rooms are small but for getting ready and sleeping there we managed. We asked for a room overlooking the river which we got and it was a beautiful view but maybe not the best decision in the height of summer as sun was on out balcony until sun went down and it was ubearable to sit on the balcony in the early evening. aircon helps in the room but its not great ,but hey its free. we had a bottle of bubbly placed in our room on the day of my partners 50th birthday which we thought was a lovely gesture. Our room was cleaned and towels changed every day not 1 day was missed, credit to the cleaners. Entertainment was good enough, i have seen worse, ive also read in previous reviews that its for the germans and spanish but thats not true its mainly in english, some acts do do it in 3 languages, and nearly all the music is british. The hotel is peacefull at bed time as the clientel are mainly older so think they all in bed by midnight so its really quiet. We left for the airport before the resteraunt was open and the loveley guy on reception went an opened resteraunt for us to eat and have coffee before we left, thats never happened for us in other hotels before. We went in middle of june , never once did we queue for a table, always got a seat for evening entertainment, lots of sunbeds round the pool but lots of them are in the shade but you can always go up the steps at the end of the pool theres lots of sunbeds up there its just a real suntrap though. We didnt have any problems with this hotel at all, staff were pleasant and worked hard.a group of really rowdy women arrived on our last day and spoilt the peace round the pool swearing an shouting in front of children, everyone was looki g at them they were so drunk, Its people like this that spoil hotels. The picture is a view from our balcony
We booked the Roc Continental but it was fully booked so were switched to the Roc Bocaccio and very pleased we were. Stayed on the 5th floor and the rooms were small but clean and modern. Pool area is small but very pleasant. Not too overcrowded because there is also a lovely little beach bar belonging to the hotel that you can use your AI in. That was a really lovely added extra. The hotel has a lovely chill out bar overlooking the lake with proper cocktails. this wasn´t included on the All Inclusive but you can buy a booklet with 10 drinks tickets in for 38 euros. Definitely worth doing. Food was average but there was always something decent to eat. Air con wasn´t very good in our room but our friends room was fine. Would definitely return!
I was worried about coming here after looking back at past reviews. Don't let the reviews put you off. Yes the rooms are tired looking but the shower which I was worried about actually was really powerful and always hot, if you are spending all holiday in the bedroom then I think you have wasted your holiday. Food was great, a lot of all inclusive I go to the food is cool to like warm, they managed to keep the food hot the majority of the time which was lovely, always a lot of choice so even if you didn't like the main offering there was always pasta and pizza as back up. Never had a day where we couldn't find something we liked. Didn't use the pool so can't comment on that but it always looked clean Beach is about 5 mins walk and then another 3 or 4 to get to the beach bar, this was a great addition as it meant not having to go back to the hotel at lunch if you wanted to spend day on beach. Food was great, and again always hot and re filled often. The only downside is you struggle to get a table and maybe they could find a way to fit a few more in if you go at 1 but leave it till 1.50 then the 2nd sitting seems to be quieter. There are a few sun beds but they are up in the shade not down on the beach, people always seemed to use the, though, the sun beds on beach are €6.50 each which I found quite expensive but that's no fault of the hotel There was entertainment every night, kids see, to love the mini disco, there were better nights and some not so great but you find this with most hotels. The main entertainment staff seemed to get angry if you didn't dance and 1night said why doesn't people want to have fun and if you don't like music I will change it. She needs to chill and if she looked around everyone was in groups chatting and happily listening to the music , doesn't mean they aren't having fun, not everyone wants to dance but she seemed to take it personally. It is hard to cater for all people as so many different languages are being spoken. Wifi wasn't great it only worked in reception and if you were lucky sometimes on the balcony, you had to pay if you wanted it continuously which nowadays with wifi being so easily accessible I find that very outdated This is a 3 star hotel, it's what you pay for so not sure why people expect so much and put bad reviews I loved my stay there and I wouldn't be put off coming back.
We stayed here for 4 days from 10th June for hubbies special birthday and friends birthday too. After such negative reviews I have to say we were very pleasantly surprised! Ok the rooms are a little dated and small - but we don't go on holiday to spend time in our room! The food was excellent for a 3* hotel - we've had much worse in a 4*!! Not a single mozzie seen during our stay which was great! Hotel cleaned constantly and staff very friendly and helpful. Drinks were good quality and measures were typically very large!!! Great value for money and would return - at the end of the day if you prefer 4 or 5* then don't book 3*
Stayed here for 10 nights between 11th & 21st June, After the 3 hour coach trip from airport to the hotel we were very hungry, hot and tired, eventually arrived nothing of our booking was there apart from a name and date we were checking in and time of check in, had to confirm everything via downloading a confirmation letter, then we got sent to the restaurant were their was "food" for us (rock hard bread, left over salad, and cold chicken) I didn't eat anything but had to feed my child. Room: First room: Terrible, how they can put a extra bed in a standard double room thinking people can live in that for 10nights is disgusting, we had no were to put our cases, the bathroom was tiny! I'm 6ft and 7months pregnant the aircon was not working and I was not staying in this room no chance! Unfortunately they didn't have any rooms that night to change us!! Second room: FAB! If you book this hotel with children book a family room! It didn't have a balcony but I didn't mind. Air con worked great, room was huge! Bathroom was huge! No complaints about this room!! Food: We were all inclusive again is great for children drinks and ice cream anytime! Then again if u want to live of pizza and chips all holiday then go for it but I didn't like the food at this hotel, breakfast was toast and jam every morning, fried eggs I tried but they were freezing all the time even when fresh ons got put out! We eat out a few times due to the boringness off the food! Snack bar their isn't one it is basically bread(hard bread) slices of cheese and ham that's it. Or maybe cookies now and then! The snack bar is awful! Beach bar great if u don't want to buy drinks but the food the same as hotel-1* rated! We eat next door to the roc hotel beach bar and the food their was amazing!! ***MOSQUITO'S everywhere*** Not just in the hotel all over down the beach round the pool, at night is awful we all got bitten to death it was horrible! Over all experience: we had a lovely holiday as a family but we would never return back to this hotel.
