Hotel Playa Golf4.0 out of 5.0

Playa Golf is ideal if you want to be near the beach. It's literally in front of it!! From the airport, you can take the bus (5 Euros/way) it will take about 20-25 min. The room was good enough for us. Breakfast was nice with a lot of choices. You can get champagne for breakfast!!! lol. It has a lot of facilities too (pools, restaurants...). We were the only people of colour and the staffs were absolutely lovely and very helpful unlike the guests that was giving us looks.. but this has nothing to do with the hotel itself. It can be noisy as there's clubs around but we didn't hear anything. Only during the day as it was carnival time!! I would recommend this hotel if you want a minimum of standard without spending too much (probably depending on the period)
It is a very good choice if one doesn't want to go to an overpriced place but still wants to enjoy the sea-view. We didn't order sea-view but still had it from the balcony, as most of their rooms have. The breakfast was included in the price and we couldn't wait every morning to go there... It was fabulous, so big selection of fresh, delicious food, and they even serve champaign which is a treat during vacation. The hotel is super clean and the staff was nice, helpful and friendly.
Recently stayed here with two 15yr old children. We had one of the suites which was slightly disappointing as I had been lead to believe that it had a separate bedroom area. This was not the case and the bed was in the room - it really isn't a suite rather a larger bedroom with a sofa which can be made into a rather uncomfortable bed. The air conditioning is poor and although we had two vents only one worked and that didn't work particularly well so it was very hot at night. The hotel is well located on the beach (which is a nice one) and the hotel facilities (pools, restaurant etc) were good. Breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of choices available. We had a large balcony off our room which had a couple of relaxing chairs alongside a table and chairs. This is a noisy hotel because of it's location but it does mean that you have plenty of choices nearby for food and drinks. At night there is a lot of noise until 3-4am from the local nightlife which seems to consist of large groups of mainly german men who think they need to stomp through the streets either singing loudly and collectively or have sudden deafness and the need to shout! It was evident upon arrival that there were very few British guests (think there were two others whilst we were there) but this didn't matter to us. I don't think this to be an ideal hotel with small children largely because of the noise at night and the hotel doesn't really cater for little ones. Overall, we had a good stay but at 2400 euros for one adult & two children sharing a large bedroom for five nights it is fairly pricy - this was based on B&B only. Do not make the mistake my two 15yr olds made of nabbing a sunbed on the beach and then having to pay 40 euros for a morning - which quite frankly is a rip off but nothing to do with the hotel. The hotel has plenty of sunbeds available around the pool areas and the staff frequently come and take orders for drinks and food.
Located in front of the Playa de Palma beach, with a beautiful corniche, but also next to a very noisy location full of bars and pubs. Rooms are not soundproof at all. You better party every day until 4 AM. Two good restaurants are located outside the hotel, but the hotel bar personnel are not friendly.
We are regulars at Hotel Playa Golf, normally in one of the suites, and we are fans of the hotel apart from our regular gripe of uncomfortable beds and singles only no doubles. This time around (our honeymoon) we were in one of the newly refurbished pool facing rooms which was clean and well laid out - albeit a little more compact than the suites as you would expect. No major complaints but we did feel that the contemporary glass doors on the shower and toilet don't really lend themselves to the sort of privacy you need. And the one thing we really missed was no kettle in the room for a late night cuppa. We normally stay in April and it's an older crowd but in August, this location turns in the German Magaluf and while the German 18-30 sun and party worshippers in the resort are respectful and less agressive than their English counterparts - their Bavarian sound level seems to be stuck on full volume! With a nightclub adjacent to the hotel it's a tough one getting to sleep uninterrupted. Will we be back? Yes of course but not in August...😊
Hello, I do not recommend this hotel and I am not in the mood to deal with the manager. The location of the hotel is good, food also, but when you want to relax and come to the hotel where the air conditioning in the elevator should be sealed and the room was the same temperature as outdoors. After warning that air conditioning is not working, apparently technician found no problem .. Somehow it for two days endure. I think when you pay for accommodation with air conditioning, you should get it. When I go to the front desk to announce it, they should not seem to be all right, but they could offer at least a fan. This hotel never again ..
the hotel was good the rooms were clean. Its near the beach and despite the party area its possible to have a sleep at night. The food was quite delicious. The only thing is the poor gym i think its would not special to have few basic tools, not just 4 cardio thing. All in all recommended.
We had a wonderful stay here! Our arriving flight was delayed and unfortunately we missed dinner the first night. Much to our surprise, right after checking into our room there was a knock at the door and we received two BIG trays of food! The restaurant had great food for breakfast and dinner. Plenty of options and variety, and always plenty of fresh seafood. The front desk staff was very kind. We only speak English, which can be difficult in a town that caters mostly to Germans, but each member of the staff was able to communicate with us with no problem. We especially enjoyed talking with Maureen and/or Sacha, who were always working the desk when we needed something. They always treated us well and with a smile. We were able to rent bikes from the desk for very cheap, and you can also rent a car here. The area is extremely noisy. Only one block away is the Bierkonig where the Germans party all night. And I really mean all night. You can hear the music and shouting from 7 pm until 5 am. Our room faced towards the street, so maybe the noise level would be less if we had a room on the other side of the hotel. It didn't take away from the overall experience for us, but light sleepers would probably be bothered by the noise. Overall this is an excellent place for couples. There are dozens of restaurants within walking distance where you can have a drink and watch the sunset. My husband and I had such a great time and we wish we could have stayed even longer!
Love, love, loved this hotel! We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon recently and were highly impressed with the service and friendly staff. Nicole from the front desk was just amazing, professional, and very informative. She and her supervisor made a great hotel stay, amazing. The location was perfect and close to bars, restaurants, the beach and transportation. Additionally, out of all of my trips with breakfast included, this hotel by far had the best spread including- omelette station, fresh baked croissants, bacon/ sausage, fresh fruit, champagne and even a fresh new honeycomb (huge) every morning. (I'd suggest including breakfast with your stay- it's worth the money and if you're a breakfast person you won't find another good breakfast nearby considering many of the nearby places open later) All of the restaurants on the property were distinct from each other and delicious food and drinks. There was plenty of space on the property to enjoy yourself and have privacy or be close to the action of the beach strand. The rooms were nice and ours had a terrace and ocean view. It was great being able to watch the action on the beach and hear the music from the DJ both while laying out on the terrace. The only challenge is the hotel is located in the center of all of the bustle that turns into its on "Bourbon" street at night. Overall, its a great location BUT depending on the time of year and crowd it can be a challenge. Again, I loved this hotel and would stay here again. Nicole was simply amazing and the overall staff were very pleasant.
