Booked a last minute room at the hotel and got a sea view double room which had been recently renovated. It was one of the only rooms left. Nice room and view, but quite small for us with a 2 year old child. Had a double bed and pull out bed for her which took up most of the space in the room. Also no bath in the room, only a shower, but was provided with a baby bath to bathe her in. Lots of german speaking guests too, and multilungual staff. Our main problem was the evening entertainment was very loud and just beneath our room on an outdoor stage, which made putting our daughter to sleep difficult, and ultimately resulted in us moving to another hotel. It would go on until 10.30-11. (ok if have older kids I guess) Food had a decent variety buffet at a mediocre standard. Kids club had good facilities. Beach is lovely. Have to hire beach towels and also safe in the room, which is unusual to other hotels. I have heard the Esperanza suites next door would have been more suited to our needs with a child. Overall would say an average hotel compared to others we have stayed at.

A very large hotel located far beyond Alcudia in an area of basically only hotels. There is a bus stop on the main street in front of the hotel and with these you can reach Alcudia's old town or the harbor. The facility actually consists of three different hotels that belong to the same business and thus there is a huge joint garden where there are several pools and plenty of free sun loungers. The hotel is right on the beach. There are also beach chairs on the beach but they do not belong to the hotel and have a charge. For a deposit fee one could get bath towels from the spa to use on the sun loungers. They could be changed every third day. The hotel had most German guests and strangely enough, most of the staff also would rather speak German than English. We found the staff to be a bit stiff and unfriendly when we contacted them in English both at the front desk and in the restaurant. I had a normal room with a horrible view straight towards another room's balcony. The balcony had two small chairs and a table but no sunbeds. At a distance you could see the sea. Straight beneath was the restaurant and its roof, and you never had any sunlight on the balcony. The room was however bright, modern decorated and felt quite newly renovated. There was a sofa as an extra seat. The air conditioning was somewhat noisy but worked well. There was a security box but it cost 12 Euro to use for a week. There was no kettle. There was a TV in the room and very good information about which channels were available. There were channels in different languages not only in Spanish. The room had a mini-bar. The hotel did not have free wifi in the rooms and I also never managed to get Wifi to work well in the lounge. The bathroom was light, newly renovated, quite large and had a shower but no bathtub. Breakfast is served from 08:00 and is a large buffet. There are omelettes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, hot tomatoes and pancakes as hot dishes. Cava rosé or white is included. Otherwise, all you can imagine in a breakfast buffet with bread, toppings, yogurt, muesli and juice. Coffee is taken from automatic coffee machines. There is a large nice sunny terrace where it is good to sit if the weather is nice. We had half board and thus we also had dinner at the hotel. There were two sittings every night and we had the early one that started at 18.30. Logistically, the dinner could have been better organized since there were huge queues for the hot food. There was a whole section of vegetarian hot dishes which was quite good and usually had a lot shorter queue. Otherwise, there were different themes at each evening buffet, such as the theme of Italy. The dessert buffet was well large with many different items, although most didnt taste that much. The best part was the chocolate fountain and the wide range of ice cream. You ordered the drinks separately by the serving staff. It was possible to save your wine bottle to the next day cause you always had the same table all week. The staff were correct a bit stiff and sometimes a bit unfriendly especially if you did not speak German which they preferred. There are several bars and several lunch restaurants in the hotel area. There is also a supermarket which was good. Outside the hotel opposite the street there were also several grocery stores. Every evening there was entertainment for both children and adults. It was usually really good better than at many other hotels. It was a little odd that the scene was located opposite a staircase and that most seats were not opposite or near the stage. The hotel was clean, quite newly renovated and had a large lovely garden where there was plenty of room for sunbeds. It was also lovely to be so close to the beach. The room location, on the other hand, was terrible and the staff's attitude something that could have been better so it's a little hard to say if we would recommend the hotel. Perhaps it works better for German-speaking guests than others.

Hotel Esperanza was a lovely hotel. The rooms were very nice, updated and clean. There were some minor finishing work issues, such as the small wall under the closet had holes and there was also cracking at the molding joints. I had a street view room, which doesn't have an impressive view, but I didn't want to pay the extra money for ocean view. The only issue with the street view was the amount of noise coming from the roadway. My biggest issue with the hotel was the noise from the neighboring rooms. The walls were very thin and you could hear everything, babies crying, music and tv playing, people talking. What really made this hotel stand out was the staff. Every single employee was helpful and friendly. They all spoke multiple languages, Spanish, German, English at a minimum, making communication easy. The restaurant staff were extremely attentive. And the food was decent and the selection varies depending on the day. The after dinner entertainment was also pleasant. The grounds of the hotel had much to offer, three outdoor pools, an indoor heated pool, many lounge chairs and outdoor beds, multiple restaurants/bars and a small supermarket. The beach was also just steps from the hotel, however to use those chairs and umbrellas, there is a fee of approximately €15 for the day. The only downfall to its location was its proximity to many attractions. If you are looking for a beach vacation or just a relaxing time, this is the place for you!

We have recently returned from our 8th stay at the hotel. Again I could not fault the accommodation. The staff as always are friendly and helpful and will be missed. It would seem that from next year that the hotel is not going to be as readily accessible for us. I have tried booking dates and nothing is available for the dates I require. I have looked on the hotel website to book direct but there are few vacancies and the prices for the type of room that we usually book are now quite expensive (appx £3.5k for half board…before booking flights and taxis) So its time to move on…. The hotel offers so much and is right on the beach. If there are similar alternatives out there let me know.

The hotel was chosen the year before we left and we were not wrong. The main reason for choosing this is direct access to the beach (5-6 km to the right and left) - great walks, and it was most important to us - a lot and a long walk. But today I can say that apart from the proximity of the beach there is another great attraction across the street - Parc Naturel de A'lbufera - a great place to meet nature. Hotel: The front desk greeted us very warmly (although we arrived around 2am and the receptionist was snatched from the nap) and we probably got a better room (with a side sea view rather than a street view) - great thanks. Hotel facilities - everything was what should be (indoor and outdoor pools, spa, gym, bike rental, including for more advanced riders - the hotel provided a base for them) Food: best ever Maybe someday we will come back Best regards

Perfect location: beach on the door step, easy access to many places and local amenities were good. Hotel was fab - lovely interior and very spacious - no maze of corridors and rooms. Hotel grounds were spacious and loads of beds were available for sunbathing - poolside and gardens. Staff were very polite and dealt with any queries/issues efficiently. Room tidying etc. was very good. The restaurant (choice of dining inside or out) offered everything you could possibly want - we were advised to miss the opening times as this could be busy but we never had any issues. Eating breakfast on the terrace with views of the Med was fab. Only disappointment was the entertainment but we were happy to make our own. Special mention to Felix - great service - he was fun! Children weren't all that visible except at the mini disco.

Stayed at the Playa Esperanza for a long weekend on half board basis, through it was a good, solid hotel. Food was good, well organised (although I would recommend not being there bang on opening times as it is very busy - leave it 30 mins and then go), swimming pools were clean and you can walk straight onto the beach. For what we wanted, it was perfect. There's a supermarket on site and one opposite, not much really within walking distance - just other hotels, so recommend getting a car. All in all, was good for what we wanted from the break.

Stayed in a Family room (suite). Room was nice, bright and spacious. Had some sea view. But... nothing else is nice in this hotel. First of all, my request for a higher floor I sent by email two weeks before the arrival was acknowledged but totally ignored at check in. When we arrived to the hotel, no one helped us with the bags and reception staff was really unfriendly. Second of all there are so many strange rules in the hotel. We were given a specific timing for dinner without even been asked what our preferences were. Table number (!) was also given to us later on at the restaurant and we had to sit at that particular table during all our stay. Breakfasts and especially dinners were really busy with people queuing for food which wasn't tasty. Restaurant staff was ok but one waitress shouted at me in Spanish looking at her watch, when I arrived for breakfast at 10am (breakfast closes at 10:30). Sorry but I was on holidays and had no intention to wake up at 6am. More upsetting news - there is no drinking water, no tea or coffee, no kettle, no iron or ironing board in the room. Safe deposit box is there but you have to pay to use it. You would need to pay to use tennis courts. Beach towels and sun beds at the beach are for rent, too. Towel would cost you €15 deposit and you have to keep the ticket to get your money back. Iron would cost €8 per day + €10 deposit and you won't even get an ironing board with it. Evening entertainment was loud and absolutely not interesting but other hotel guests seemed to like it so it was impossible to get a table outside after dinner. Another thing is that 90% of hotel guests are Germans. So don't expect to have a conversation with someone by the pool or at dinner. My daughter couldn't play with other kids because they didn't speak any English. And hotel staff speaks either Spanish or German. So think twice before booking this hotel, it is not what it looks like on the pictures. And please don't forget any clothes at the pool, you will never get it back. I left my denim shorts on the sun bed by the pool, had to ask reception, bar staff and lifeguards for it but it was nowhere to be found. Must have been taken by other hotel guests. Overall it was quite a disappointing stay considering amount of money paid for it.

Still a week to go at this Hotel and My excitement about the holiday at this place has gone so much down. We have a constant feeling of being unwelcome by the staff (we are two families) and it seems like we are all the time guilty of being here. The staff members are unpleasant (not all, but most) and we are trying to avoid ANY questions. Today was refused to take food to go for a child from a pool bar without a reason, tried to ask why but the gentlemen kept saying 'no'. Yesterday were refused to move a sun umbrella at the breakfast, which nobody else was using. So far the feeling the staff created is unwelcome/unfriendly. Too sad, as the location is amazing.

Hotel is located right next to a clean sandy beach with beautifully warm water. Room had great views of the bay with a nice balcony. Friendly staff, very varied and tasty restaurant food. 3 pools, one pleasantly large. The 11km wetlands right next door were fantastic for birdwatching, remember the insect repellent to avoid bites! Very fun watersport activities available on the beach - wind surfing, kite surfing, stand up boarding, sailing. Good and varied evening hotel entertainment acts and music. Some helpful instructions - on arrival hire the room safe immediately, this isn't included in the price. You will be handed a leaflet allocating you a restaurant table, remember to take this down to dinner the first time. Queue on the right to register for your table the first time. You will also need to pay to hire the umbrellas and beach chairs on the beach (14 euros per day) but not for the ones on the hotel grounds. You can also hire a safe on the beach umbrella!
