We stayed as a group of 4 friends at Hotel Mirador at the beginning of the spring season. The hotel was easy and quick to get to from the airport and the staff were friendly and courteous upon check in. We had a family room which was basically two rooms (with twin beds in each) joint together which was ideal and each room had its own bathroom so no queuing! The rooms were a good size, quiet and very clean and tidy. The bathrooms were also large and clean with lots of towels, hot water and complementary toiletries. The Wi-fi was good and the view of the harbour from the balcony was lovely. The hotel décor is a bit dated, but clean and tidy. We never saw the swimming pool or spa so some signage would be a good idea. The location of the hotel is ideal as you’re close enough to all the sights and bus routes, plus there were always taxis just outside. The old town is a leisurely 10 mins walk away and there are lots of lovely cafes and restaurants close by so we didn’t bother with the breakfast at the hotel. There was a nice terrace area which looked like it might have a bar during high season and it would have been nice to be able to order a drink or coffee and sit outside overlooking the harbour. The hotel seems to have lots of facilities that they don’t put to good use or advertise, at least not in low season, but overall we had a pleasant stay and would recommend the Hotel Mirador.
Pleasant large room with balcony overlooking the marina. We stayed in room 203, and I have to add a word of warning: we booked a 'double/twin bed' room. Everywhere else we've stayed, this has meant twin beds that can be zipped together to make a double, or unzipped according to taste. Not here. These were twin beds, albeit wide beds. This required a certain amount of creativity with bedding. Apart from that, this is a well-situated hotel, ten minutes walk from the old town, and very conveniently placed for the bus from the airport (5 euros). Fun watching cargo and cruise ships come and go.
Interesting hotel that seems to have been two buildings joined into one on a hill going inland. From reception you actually go along a tunnel to some lifts. The basic room was very well maintained, very comfortable and clean. Nice touch having two small bottles of water for free in the mini bar. Breakfast included hot and cold food, croissants etc. there's more than enough choice, though one surprise is that it costs Euro 15, so do check your booking. After a days outing we were all looking forward to using the facilities however the two hot tubs on the roof of floor 5 were cold tubs at an unusable 20°C. There are other indoor facilities that are well hidden. You’ll find them if you follow the sign to something like TV suite. There you find a flowing exercise pool, a spa, a steam room and a sauna. When we were there the steam room was off and there was no water tub in the sauna. These spa facilities seem a secondary consideration. The suites/upmarket rooms at the front have a great view over the large marina and the strip with the cathedral on the far left. Big thanks to the front desk staff for lending an umbrella on a surprisingly wet day. Yes, I'd opt to stay here again.
We stayed in the Hotel Mirador for 3 nights (Thursday to Sunday) and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, we did feel it a little overpriced for what we got; good room overlooking the harbour so wonderful view but there were no tea or coffee making facilities and no mini bar save for 2 small bottles of water which, admittedly, were free; breakfast wasn't included and we didn't eat in the Hotel due to it being 15 euros per person for breakfast which, again, we thought was too much considering we were paying approximately £145.00 per night for the room! The hotel is very clean throughout, maybe a little dated, but very clean. Part of the enjoyment of our stay was the 'Faulty Tower-esque' way the bar was run in the evenings! I requested 2 glasses of port but all they could find was a bottle containing hardly anything and when we had decided on an alternative, suddenly another customer laughed saying 'You're in luck - they've found some port'!! To add to the pleasure in the bar, the measures are enormous! The only down side really was the gentleman on Reception in the evenings who had no personality whatsover to the point of being rude; I requested a city map which he produced, placed it on the desk and without a smile or even one little word, that was it! He never side good evening, goodbye or smiled - we felt as if we were intruding in his space if we requested anything. On our last night, our room key wouldn't work and he had to come upstairs to let us in - that went down like a ton of bricks! It wasn't our fault but you would have thought it was! However, we didn't let him get us down but I really do feel The Mirador Reception staff need some lessons in courtesy!
enjoyed my 3 day stay at the hotel. with my girlfriend. room 812 was really nice so big too with a wonderful view of the harbour marina. close to everything, really clean, good staff good breakfast. we enjoyed the stay throughout. i asked for a kettle via email prior to our trip.. 2 minutes after putting our bags in the room.. a kettle arrived. great service. i would recommend this hotel.. the only little thing which i didn't like was the TV channels.. only CNN news was in English.. maybe sky or BBC news could be added... not a big problem..we would stay again without doubt. the shower pressure was great.. it was a pleasure to stay at the Mirador.
small cosy traditional not corporate at all. Very old school but also charming in that way. Free wifi easy social staff bed is firm. What more could you want. Great thing is taxis are always there on the corner so happy to jump in one to get to meetings.
The Hotel Mirador is a lovely clean hotel - with rooms overlooking the Marina and an excellent roof top terrace. It was only a short walk to Palma city centre and there were many places to eat both inn the hotel as well as up and down the road.
Stayed in a large family room after booking at the last minute. Staff very friendly and helpful, with a clean spacious room and two bathrooms and a lively rainforest shower. Great breakfast and evening meal. Would recommend for families.
Good points: - Clean rooms - Sea view room had great view over harbour with balcony with table & 2 chairs - Friendly staff - Lovely roof terrace with sun loungers, never really anyone up there - A giant bed, toiletries, hairdryer, TV, minifridge & safe provided in room - Good breakfast buffet - Lovely art around the hotel - Brilliant location, 20min taxi to airport, 15-20 min walk to centre of Palma/cathedral, 5min walk to Santa Catalina full of restaurants & bars & lots of vegan eateries, 25-30 min walk to Palma beach Not so good points: - The indoor pool/jacuzzi/gym is very dated and barely usable. There's a spinning bike, a very wobbly cross-trainer and a treadmill. - The rooms are very noisy if you're in the sea view rooms on one of the first 3 floors. You're directly above a 3-lane dual carriageway. - Minibar in the room which contained 2 very small bottles of water. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room sadly. - I'm not sure I could call it quite 4-star hotel... Tips: - If you're getting a sea-view room, ask for a room on the higher floors, (I.e. above floor 3) so that you're set further back and not directly above the busy road. - They pour the best, giant gins so be sure to have a few drinks at the hotel bar! - Spend sometime on the roof terrace, fairly quiet as set back from the road, loses the sun in the afternoon but it's very pleasant - Don't overlook Santa Catalina and all it's lovely eateries!
Stayed here for a short break but where disappointed with our stay. This hotel to us looks as though at one time it was a top hotel but it now looks as though no one cares about it and its lost its heart. The room itself was large and clean with a marina view although the noise from the traffic below was very annoying. The rest of the hotel we found very puzzling we went up to the terrace which was a disgrace not looked after at all sunbeds and chairs where old and worn plants in pots where overgrown and not looked after a small pond was dirty with dirty water in it with overgrown plants, cant understand why this area was not looked after.Back in the hotel on the third floor was a large room full of chairs that no one used?. The pool and spa was only big enough for about 4 people. In reception the tour operator books are covered in dust and dirty. The food at breakfast and evening meal was not very good one evening the food was cold we complained and was horrified to see that the heaters to keep the food hot where not even on and a waiter put his fingers in the food to see if it was hot!!! when we said this was not acceptable it did not seem to register with the staff or reception staff that you cant serve food like this no offer of replacement food was given until we said we wanted something else at which point we where offered some other food we only got a salad as we where dubious about eating the food the next night we never ate in the restaurant., we where told to see the manager in the morning we did not seek him out the next day but would have expected him to approach us or at least put a note through our door. We also did not like how waiters etc kept disappearing or grouping together talking. From what I can see on TripAdvisor there is a lack of reply's from the management to comments which makes me think that they dont care about this hotel or the people who stay there I cant see this hotel staying open in the future.
