We arrived around one o clock in the morning and we're made welcome by a night receptionist. Our room was comfortable but we had problems with very noisy neighbours who started arguing loudly and sound proofing did not seem too good. I went down to reception as knocking on their door didn't help. Fortunately a visit from receptionist did solve problem. Breakfast in the morning was served in a bright ,cheerful dining room with many people present. Great selection of breakfast items. After breakfast we walked about 10 minutes down to the beach and visited the tourist office. For the price, by Palma standards this is good value, but we preferred to spend our time in a smaller resort area, renting an apartment in Port Pollensa. The Hotel has an attractive pool and our room was comfortable.
Superb price per quality! Food is delicious. Every day different things. Stuff was helpful. Everything was clean. Host was superb. Just didn't liked that we needed to pay internet per device 3 euro 1 day (you also have package, something like 18euros 10 days... we pay less at home for 1 month). Guess they could put it into the whole price of the room. It's not first class of hotel it's regular. It's few streets from the seaside. Beautiful beaches nearby. They have pool (cleaning eveery day) but we didn't use it beach was better choice.
Was a little apprehensive after reading some reviews but needn't have worried. The staff were very helpful. The Manager and the young chap and the serious and professional blond lady. Any questions or requests were dealt with quickly and effectively. Maids and other staff all friendly. Rooms were great. Air conditioning was fantastic once we realised the remote control was with the tv. We could adjust the temperature down to very cool. This allowed for the balcony doors to be closed so little night noise even from the hotel round the side which didn't last to late anyway. We found a way to leave it on so we came back to lovely cool rooms. We paid for the fridge and safe and of course local tax on arrival. Fridge and internet extras (per gadget) but worth every penny. We took a little kettle. Various supermarkets next door or near and a short walk down hill to sea front. Plenty of cafes and restarants in area and on sea front. Suggestion tourist road "train" along front for a few quid per person same price to get off any where upto can pastilla and return. Bus to Palma easy to find. (Take water on journeys of course). We did the Soller train journey again. Always worth a day. Breakfasts always a good choice and evening meals good. If we go to this part of Mallorca again would certain use this hotel.Marie, Stan and Jess.
Hotel is nice and quiet during the day..however at night there is music at hotel next door and it's super loud ..not great when u have small kids..also no kettle in the room...we found it strange...we booked a family room..got free cot but it was a shower not a bath..found washing our son who is 12 weeks a bit challenging...
The food is great. Stuff is great, polite and willing to help. Hygiene excellent. It's a bit up the hill from the beach, but not too far away. It's in peaceful area, no loud music and drunk Germans throwing out around hotel. The only thing I'd complain about is that you have to pay to use the internet in the hotel. Everything else is just great!
Had a fantastic family holiday. Yes the hotel is basic and in need of some updating but for a 3* hotel it was great. Immaculately clean the pool was lovely and the food was a good standard. For us though the thing that made this hotel was the staff, they work so hard and were so friendly and lovely with the kids. Would definitely reccommend for a family with kids on a budget.
short 4 night stay for me, my husband and son, would have given the hotel 5 stars but we had to pay 39 euros as soon as we arrived, luckily we werent on a budget. 10 euros for the fridge? 9 euros for internet for 1 device as no signal in hotel, safety deposit box and then green tax? never ever paid this in Majorca (been 20 times) and we are going to Santa ponsa in 3 weeks and I bet we dont pay this here....All the staff are excellent, the 2 ladys that run the bar and also in the restaurant do an excellent job (muchas gracias) the only miserable and rude staff we found was the blonde young lady on reception, never ever said morning to us and quite curt in her manner! Breakfast is basic, no english breakfast but as mentioned this is a german resort so breads, cheese, fruit, yoghurts, lots of cakes, chocolate, very sweet juice, fried eggs, funny sausages and fatty bacon and beans. Loads of lovely restaurants which serve lovey food, tapas and cocktails. Found the hotel quiet, basic small rooms but the cleaners cleaned and left fresh towels every day and there was free air conditioning. Ive been to a lot of resorts in Majorca, personally I wouldnt come here with young children as simply nothing for them to do on an evening, no live music or entertainment and a lot of people drink in the street..no rowdiness but you can just buy a bucket of beer, cocktails etc and sit anywhere to drink them. The beach gets very busy and its a lovely beach, again Ive never seen as many people trying to sell you stuff..or rip you off..ASK and haggle before you buy, saw loads of people not doing this and they make a packet selling 1 piece of melon for 10 eurors or a can of pop for 5 euros? or buy your own bucket, water, drinks from the local spars. Teens and young groups of girls and couples would enjoy as lots of bars underground and clubs and a very nice european experience....dont steer away from the from the main strip though, we did and went into a red light area, not somethng you want your 15 year old to experience...a girl off her head and with no clothes on..eeek. Enjoy!!! a different area of Majorca and the food and drinks are excellent value for money and the lilos are the cheapest!!! the sea is nice and shallow and goes out for ages like that so great for the little ones but I have enjoyed more livelier resorts on the island.
Hotel Manaus offers a pleasant accommodation in classic style. Our room was relatively small for 3 persons (it would be fine for 2) and equipped in 3* standard. The room and bathroom were clean, the chambermaid was cleaning every day, changing towels and bed sheets. We had only breakfast, which is served in buffet style, also with warm meals (eggs, sausages, beans). The choice was sufficient, I personally would prefer more fruit and another supplier of juices, which were disgusting sweet, or at least the possibility to mix it with water in bigger glass. The staff was mostly friendly and helpfull, at the reception is possible to speak English or German, in the restaurant and for chambermaids is necessary to know several Spanish words :-) Hotel Manaus has a small swimming pool area with possibility to relax, if there is not too many people. There were few things I did not like: paid wifi and paid minibar - so if you do not pay, you have no chance to keep your drinks at least little bit cold. The air-conditioner was not possible to control manually, so we had the whole week 27-28 degrees in the room - very low sleep quality for me. I cannot rate our stay negative, I found this hotel for a good price in high season, but for my next holiday in Mallorca, I will choose another accommodation.
My daughter and I enjoyed 5 days here last week. Without exception the staff were wonderful: friendly, informative and professional. The decor is a little dated, but there are lots of public sitting areas and every place is spotless. The pool was fun..you need to be on your toes to get one of the 20 sun loungers, though! The pool bar was not always attended..perhaps a bell linked to reception might help? Breakfast was great every morning- lots of fresh breads cheeses fruit and a selection of hot food. We had the €10 buffet dinner one evening..well worth it and plenty of choice. Our balcony faced another hotel's pool - frequently noisy, so next time I would request a room facing the forest. Lovely relaxing holiday, thank you!
Just got back from a five night stay here. The hotel is a bit tired looking and could do with a spruce up. Having said that, it is spotless and well cleaned, cleaners in the room every day. The staff are very friendly and helpful, a special shout out to George on reception. I forgot to alter my watch on arrival and came down for breakfast after the restaurant had closed thirty minutes ago. George phoned through and organised coffee, sandwiches and cakes, very thoughtful, he was a great help many times so a big thank you to him. The room only deals, the rooms are quite small but comfortable with small veranda, although there are larger rooms available. We stayed on a bed and breakfast deal. The breakfast is the usual continental with a good choice of serials, fruit, pastries, ham, cheeses etc. Very good though. You can have the evening meal for ten euros each if you fancy eating in. Showers are very good and always hot water no matter what the time. Would have liked a fridge in the room to keep drinks cold. Our room had good views out over the bay and forest, but the rooms on the other side of the hotel had no view except of the building next door, so request a forest, sea view. Wi fi cost 9 euros for five nights per device and speed is very good. The usual hire is avIlable, safe etc. There are always sunbeds available and there was not the usual morning rush to reserve them with the towels which was a refreshing change. If you want drinks then go to the first small supermarket right next to the hotel, his prices are very good and won't be beaten. Can of coke there is 80 cents as opposed to 2 euro's in the hotel and all the cafes and bars. All his prices are the best we found there. The hotel is about a five minute walk to the beach down a hill, situated down the quieter end of the bay, it's an older area and parts of it are quite run down, although it is a gentle stroll up the promenade to reach the bars if that's what you want. Be careful of the bars, most of their prices are extortionate, they will get you in with free shot offers then charge a fortune for drinks, we got caught in one for 8 euros a drink and I could have peed stronger stuff. There is a british bar five minutes up the beach called the sportsman, cafe area outside from nine in the morning, they serve a great full english for 6.50 , drink prices are very good too, its run by a couple from Liverpool, although it shuts at 11pm . Further up, about ten minute stroll, you will find the other british bar, it's called Bogarts, run by a Glasgow couple, very friendly and excellent prices, that stays open till 4am, great bar. There are very few money exchange places there, one on the hill down to the beach,it's a small kiosk on the right going down selling papers drinks etc, it opens from 4pm onwards. Exchange rate is always 1.08 to the pound. Best place to change money if you need to is in the banks, there is a santander ten minutes up the sea front, all the banks close at 2.30 though. If you like quads then there is a hire shop just by the hotel which also offers three hour excursions for 70 euro's per quad, ninety if there are two per quad, wear old clothes though as you will get covered in dust, nice swim in a lovely bay though. The beach is beautiful and goes on for miles, sun beds at points all the way along for 8 euros each, or take your towels and pay nothing. Loads of bike hire shops around for six euros a day, if your feeling energetic you can follow the coast into Palma, mostly all flat and a good day out. Buses go into Palma for 1.50 euros from the sea front, well worth a visit. The further up the bay you go the night life increases, although the whole area is predominantly a German holiday area. You will see lots of groups, men and women walking around on booze trips, though they are no bother. I would stay at this hotel again.
