Please note, we visited in October, so it was past the height of the tourist season. We originally booked another nearby hotel, but found the rooms there lacking and unclean when we arrived. We immediately booked another hotel (Las Arenas) and got a refund for the nights not spent in the other hotel. Las Arenas: The hotel has very few down sides and a lot of upsides. - The hotel is a bit dated when it comes to the hallways. - There is a pool, it is clean and usable, but somewhat small and doesn't get all that much sunlight. (But good on a very hot day if you have kids) - It is not in the city center, but more on the outskirts (a problem for some I suppose) + But saying that it is very clean, the rooms are up to date and ours was spacious + The staff are welcoming, competent and professional + The location is amazing. It is right on the main promenade next to the beach. If you walk in a straight line from the front door towards the sea then in around 100 meters you will be in the Mediterranean. + There are 2 busses going directly into Palma city center - one is an express one that takes less than 15min, the other takes a longer route with more stops. I think it was 2euros per person. + The beach is wonderful - clean, sandy, spacious + There are plenty of restaurants around. Some less than 20 meters from the front door (including Italian, German, Spanish, Cuban, etc) + The food in the hotel is amazing. Surprisingly so. We didn't even notice we had booked full-board, but we didn't regret it. On two evening we actually stayed in the hotel to eat dinner, as it was restaurant quality, but in the form of a buffet. Horrible if you are on a diet though. + Our double room was spacious, modern, clean and had a balcony overlooking the pool and out towards the sea. + Finally, a terrific price for what you are getting. I go on vacation abroad around 1-2 times a year and nothing has surprised me more (in a good way) than Las Arenas. Usually I forget my hotel experiences in about a week or so of returning home, but even as I write this review now three months later, the experience is still quite vivid in my mind. Despite recognizing that the hotel has a few drawbacks I can't give it less than a 5/5, as I never wished to change anything while I was there. I truly hope to go back there in a few years

On my 3rd visit to the hotel at the end of October I had a wonderful time yet again. Room was spotless, food was good and staff were all pleasant and helpful. A massive thank you to Juan who worked in the bar as he went well beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome. I look forward to returning in the future.

After a whoopsey with our October booking (Monarch flight!) we managed a booking in November. Great room, first floor front sea view couldn't have been better. Even though the hotel was closing the day after we left the service was its usual high standard right up to the end, think it speaks volumes when the staff are happy and energetic at the end of the season. Food to die for, breakfast definitely my downfall! Roll on 18th February when it reopens.

So 12 months on I revisited the hotel and again didn't disappoint. Yes it still needs some work to bring it up to date but everything is clean, tidy and the staff are great. Ideal location with great food, you really can't go wrong. A few English channels needed on the tv and more plug sockets in the room (same gripes as 12 months ago) but again lovely clean and comfortable room. Dining room staff , cleaners and reception staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. Without sounding like an old grump, the major thing that needs addressing are the bar staff. Grumpy men, never smiling, not welcoming and it seemed that the life guard was even serving (as it was low season) one of the most important parts of the holiday is customer service and it isn't the best here. Don't get me wrong they did the job but a few smiles and welcome conversation would make the holiday. Will I be back next year? Yes, certainly will.

Having just returned in the middle of November this hotel was a perfect last minute getaway! The food is very good, staff are very polite and the hotel is clean! My partner is a Celiac and vegetarian and there was a lot of variety for her thought our trip. The hotel is dated but spotless, the beds aren't amazingly comfortable and for some reason didn't have quilts/duvets, only dust sheet blankets (this will probably change when they close for a remodel) The hotel itself is about 30 seconds from the beach with an amazing view of the Marina and open sea. The food was of decent variety and catered for all needs hosting something for everyone. We went for a last minute getaway for 4 nights and got some amazing weather (20 degrees in mid November) much better than staying in the UK. It's quite a touristy hotel with not many residents from the UK but more locals visiting; which means its good! Hotel is around 10 minutes from the airport so you don't waste any time getting to the beach. Would definitely recommend visiting this hotel to someone looking for a quick, easy and cheap getaway.

Visited for the third time after being here in February this year and November 2016. I can't imagine a hotel anywhere that gives better value. The food is of a good variation and well presented (Looks lovely when you eat early). The room was cleaned every day and the corridors rang with the "Holas" of the cleaning staff. When we arrived at the restaurant the first time we were smothered with kisses and handshakes from the staff. We were surprised by a german couple that we met last november and two more couples from UK that we knew from previous visit. It is idealy located for beach or local bars and buses to Palma. I doubt whether it could be described as a sunbathing hotel as the pool is partly shaded but the terraces around the entrances are ideal to sun yourself and watch the passing people. I was reserved a table with candle and paper flowers and bottle of Cava "on the house" and was both delighted and embarrassed. Bit sad it will not be open next november as I hear it is being closed early for huge alterations. Memories of this place are smashing and I shall never forget a chorus of Happy Birthday sung by several different nationalities. The entertainment was not to everyone's taste but plenty of scope for making your own fun

I have just been killing some time browsing through the reviews whilst looking forward to my umpteenth return to this hotel. We only live around the corner believe it or not but we love coming here whatever time of year just to have a chance to re-charge our batteries for a few days. I cannot believe some of the negative comments I have read! I sometimes feel that holiday makers go on holiday with a hotel inspectors head on and an A4 pad! The hotel is situated front line from the beach, central to local amenities. Some comments I have seen from some reviews that I have to answer on behalf of the hotel, who I do feel sorry for because they must want to pull their hair out sometimes. Food not good enough - Seriously? This is an all inclusive hotel with buffet service, not once have I gone where there is not enough choice for anyone and believe me, I have dietary issues so I have to be careful what I eat. Cold food, this is a problem for all hotels that provide buffet service but can be soon rectified by having a little word with the restaurant staff or at reception. Or put it in the microwave provided. Too many Germans! This hotel provides accommodation for all denominations, sometimes there's more Germans, other times there's more English and sometimes more Spanish (the Spanish is more so at the end of the season we find and as regards to them being rude - we look forward to going at the end of the season, we have found them nothing but friendly, always smiling and inviting us to dance with them. Entertainment lacking - Fully Inclusive hotels around the world are not noted for their top entertainment but the two girls this year have been a vast improvement and I cant wait to see them tomorrow!! Hotel for the elderly only! Rubbish, this hotel caters for all ages, it is very difficult for them to plan activities during the day for all ages but I have seen they do their best. Small pool - use the beach - it's right in front of the hotel! Sea view - you buy it you get it. You request it - not guaranteed, only if available. Cleanliness? I've never had a problem, always spot on! Staff friendliness, I've never had a grumpy waiter, receptionist or waiter they have always been friendly and helpful. Tip - just try a little Spanish, just one word works wonders! If any problems whilst on holiday, just go to reception before you let it steam, they will endeavour to put things right for you. Hotel Las Arenas - YOU ARE AWESOME - Keep up the good work and don't let the negative ones drag you down! See you all tomorrow - can't wait!

Here at the moment ...8th November and the sun is blazing down. I've stayed here before and wasn't too impressed but much improved from last time. The food is 100% improved, I always find something and I'm quite fussy. Lots of hotels closed in Can Pastilla now but the resort is still busy enough. Some bars and shops closed but enough still open to potter around. No sun beds on the beach , they're all in for the winter , which is a shame given the weather this week. Very nice seating area at the front to enjoy the all inclusive drinks. Yes it's a bit dated inside but given the price we paid we are happy. Pool is small and in the shade but given the gorgeous beach is right outside you can't really go wrong!

What you pay is what you get, a budget hotel in central location. Nothing specific to note, some of the rooms could benefit from a refurb. Breakfast in line with the overall level. Position is great though.

A lovely little getaway with my family , Stayed here for 4 nights, when we arrived they had dinner waiting for us. Breakfast and dinner are amazing and full of choice. The hotel is also on the beach and a short walk from the supermarkets and bars. Rooms have balconies and are kept very clean I felt very safe at this hotel and would go here again.
