Just got back from this hotel today. Absolutely exceeded expectations and would recommend to people looking for a peaceful break in 20/30 mins walking distance of Palma city. To be specific, it's 5 mins walk from Santa Catalina and its restaurants, and a further 15 or so to the old town (La Lonja) area of Palma. There is a supermarket across the road and so many options for eateries. The rooms were spacious clean and modern. Flat screen TV on the wall with loads of British channels! BBC 1&2, channel 4, Nat Geo, Paramount and others. Amazing. Powerful shower and good air con (super cold actually!). Only minor complaint as others mention is a lack of full length mirror, or indeed a mirror at all in the bedroom. Pretty annoying to share the bathroom mirror between us and have to put make up on in the bathroom. Loved the fact they didn't open the pool til 9. This meant no annoying sunbed reserving behaviour - and there were usually beds available as late as 10.30am we found. Breakfast was fab, 7 -11am and a huge selection of hot stuff, bakery, cakes, waffles and omlettes etc. Literally something for everyone. Definitely add it on as you won't find it cheaper elsewhere. We found Palma to be expensive. We felt pool drinks were excessive too - €2.50 for a Diet Coke ?!. Not even a pint at that. We just bought one from the nearby shops at a third of the price. Taxi to the airport was around €25. Can get the bus but it means changing and we didn't want to spend time doing that. Also went to Cala Millor beach in a taxi for around €12. The hotel told us it was €7 so that was slightly irritating as we could have got the bus cheaper. It's a lovely beach, gently shelving and nice to swim at. Only 20 mins or so away. Service here was friendly and efficient. Our hairdryer broke and within 5 mins they sent someone with a new one. Just what you need. We plan to come back next year.

Excellent value, spotlessly clean, good location for city, great pool, good food, friendly staff and sophisticated feel. no sea view. But cannot fault hotel for value. Would recommend for a sun filled, relax city break.

Stayed at this hotel for a 2 week break July/August. We had a room in new building which was ideal. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety of foods. Staff in all areas were always very friendly & helpful. Pool area small but on the few days we wanted to relax there we had no problem getting sunbeds.

Great location and good friendly staff, had a lovely quiet room and the rooms were very clean and newly refurbished. BBC 1 hd to keep in touch with the world back home Drinks round the pool were good value for money

I have stayed at the Isla Mallorca twice now, a year apart. On return, I was slightly worried that it would not be as good as on my first visit. I needn't of worried. This time me & my partner stayed in an "urban room with terrace". I would highly recommend this room choice as the pool area is actually quite small for the amount of guests and it is common for all the sun beds to be taken! Having the terrace equipped with comfortable sun loungers meant that although not by the pool (although you overlook it), we could lay out in the sunshine. The hotel is in a good location. A 10 - 15 minute walk to the town centre. Taxi's are also very cheap just incase you're feeling lazy! The centre of Palma itself has beautiful bars and restaurants (It's also ideal for shopping! Be sure to visit El Corte Ingles Department Store) Breakfast at the hotel was good with a range of choices to suit all. Reception staff are very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Returned for a couple of nights this year ... prior to picking up a villa in Pollenca it's a great stop-off as we like Palma. Hotel is in a great location ... within walking distance of Palma but quiet. Room was clean and spacious just over the spa ... much better than the Urban Room that we had last year. Breakfast was good ... but maybe not quite as good as last year ... not as much choice ... no fresh orange and member of staff doing the eggs was not always there ... so queues built up. Regrettably couldn't use pool as no sunbeds left due to people leaving towels on sunbeds first thing in the morning when they're not even there! However got the bus to Illetas instead which was so much better than the pool!

I stayed here with a friend for 4 nights and it couldn't have been better! All the staff we're lovely, rooms were faultless and despite the pool looking small for the amount for people it was plenty big enough and we could always find a sun lounger no matter the time! Only a 10 min walk to the centre and once you know the way it's easy peasy! I will definitely return to Hotel Isla :)

The hotel is quiet and peaceful. The food is very good and the service fine ( I would say typically Spanish, there's no rushing) with very helpful reception staff. The room was very nice, modern and clean, all as expected in a 4* hotel So all good so far but the pool area that served 153 rooms has 42 sun beds, which were full most days and although not noisy that was irritating as the advertising photograph of the pool was deceiving. The hotel could easily expand the pool utilising the spare area. We went out every day to different beaches by bus ( ridiculously cheap) and by taxi, still very good value and efficient. The only day we needed the pool are was our check out day and were lucky with sun beds and we used the spa to shower and change as had checked out of our room. The spa was lovely, had fresh towels and for which no charge was made. I would definitely recommend the hotel for those who like to walk as a good base position

2nd time spending one week at this hotel. Friendly and professional staff. Going to town takes you 15 minutes or 3 by taxi (4 EUR). Parking around the building. Can recommend this place, but you need to rent a car.

Visited hotel as party of 6 ladies, enjoying a long weekend break in Palma. Hotel location to the promenade and Palma old town in great, about a minute walk or approx. 7 euro taxi ride. Hotel is very tranquil with no music or entertainment, which was exactly what we were looking for. We had booked b&b, the selection and quality of the breakfast buffet that served from 7:30 to 11:00 was fantastic. We didn't dine in the restaurant in the evening, but it did look very busy. We made use of the pool bar for lunch at drinks, food was good but in the busy lunchtime rush they seemed understaffed and we had long waits to eat. Pools aren't huge but they seemed to be busy. We booked standard rooms but when I stay again I'd book an exec room to ensure I had a balcony, the standard room didn't have a full length mirror, was lack of hanging space and the frosted glass walls between shower/ toilet and bedroom wasn't very private. That said the room was very clean and comfortable and I will defo stay here again.
