Clean rooms and great facilities, I especially appreciated the fact that the spa and changing-rooms were always spotless. The serving staff are all fantastic and seem to be happy to work there. Also, the wi-fi never played up.
This hotel is located in a residential area that has parking in the surrounding roads (although hotel also offers parking at a cost if you cannot find a space). It is within easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and all the main sites. We had a lovely room, as we went in Oct, we got a free upgrade to a huge room. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even loaned us an adaptor as we forgot ours. The breakfast was great, with a huge selection and the chef would make fresh omelettes on the spot. The pool area was lovely too, although bit cold in Oct for those brave enough, but the lounge chairs were great to sit in the sun and the pool bar was great too for drinks and snacks while enjoying the sun. Did not try the spa area, as the indoor pool did not allow kids (my little one was 3yrs old) which was a shame and she really wanted to go swimming and outside was too cold. Would definitely recommend!
Isla Mallorca was a pretty decent hotel. Nice spread for breakfast, nice sized rooms with ‘ok’ toiletries and in a good location (20 mins walk from Old Town). Their service on the other hand was pretty inconsistent. Poached eggs were delivered promptly, as was the requested iron however housekeeping was questionable. We stayed for 3 nights of which 2 nights they left us feeling disappointed. Night 1 - fine. Night 2- missing toilet rolls (was replenished upon request). Night 3- dirty coffee cups not replaced or removed and a rubbish bag (filled with our food waste) left beside the bed. We rang reception to complain, they said they would call us back. They of course didn’t. On our way out to dinner, we raised the complaint again when we were promised that the manager would be in in the morning to speak to us. The day after, having not received a phone call from the manager, we went down to speak to said manager. His response in return - “What do you want me to do?”, with raised shoulders. Helpful! Having had breakfast, we returned to check out and receive an explanation for the mistake they had made. Unhelpful receptionist Carlos reiterated his manager’s words and then called the Housekeeping Manager to confirm the happenings. Previously the Housekeeping Manager had said that they had spoken to us to check if we wanted the room made up or not (lie no. 1!) and then had the audacity to say to Carlos that they had only left the bag 40cm away from the bed (lie no.2!). Why did they leave it knowingly in the first place?!! As you can tell, our problems were not resolved and overall we left with a sour taste in our mouths. We left feeling ignored, annoyed and cheated. We will NOT be returning and unless you are prepared for mediocre treatment, I wouldn't recommend!
The hotel is situated in an urban area just set back from the harbour. I have to start by saying that I didn't feel the welcome as reception was all it could be. However, because we were early, they speedily provided us with provision to store luggage until the room was ready. Our room was fine - small, but perfectly ok. The bathroom was starting to look a little tired with black mould around the seals of the shower unit and a badly marked toilet seat. Plenty of storage for clothes but very few hooks to hang towels and wet swim wear. A really nice touch was the robe and slippers - and we used these a lot. The breakfasts were excellent with a fantastic variety of foods and juices. The pool areas were lovely and the adjacent pool bar was great. We used the spa and really enjoyed our 2 hour spa experience - at 9 euros each it was good value for money. On the whole I would recommend the hotel but felt the staff weren't altogether very happy and communicative. I think certain areas of the hotel are in need of refurbishment - hopefully that will happen soon. The harbour was only a 5 minute walk and the fantastic restaurants of Sta Catalina only a little further away. We could walk everywhere from the hotel. We really enjoyed our time in Palma and will definitely be back.
Stayed here for a long weekend at start of October with my wife. We were in an urban room which was spacious, modern and very clean. The hotel throughout was modern and clean, staff were all friendly and helpful. The pool is not huge but despite the hotel being fully booked we never had a problem on any day getting a sun lounger which seems to be a common complaint in other reviews. The location is great, 10 mins walk to the old town, yet set in a quiet residential location. Had breakfast in hotel one morning and it was tasty and with plenty of options, beer and cocktails by the pool are €4 large beer and €7-8 cocktails which is fine. If returning to palma I would definately stay here again.
Modern hotel in a quiet location, within easy walking distance of restaurants and bars, the promenade and Palma centre. Average sized pools (2) with a handy pool side bar that sells good food and drinks at a reasonable price - see photos of pool menu. Sun loungers were all taken at the weekend, but during the week not a problem. Free onsite gym and bike hire (10 euro a day) and strong wifi (free) are all bonuses! Friendly and helpful staff on reception and at pool bar. Complimentary bottles of water in the mini-bar are a nice welcome. It would be nice to have a a kettle or Nespresso machine in the room.
Booked this for a short break which was then extended due to cancelled flight. The hotel reception were extremely helpful assisting us with changing flights and extending stay. Always pleasant and welcoming, nothing too much bother. Although we tried breakfast, felt it was a little hectic, then found a great place down the road two mins walk away on the next corner that did lovely breakfast and the guy very knowledgeable and you could even buy the red bus and boat tickets from him. We found the hotel very clean, well situated and all the facilities offered were excellent. Any negatives? Would have been good to have a kettle in room. Maybe that's an age thing!!! All in all a great hotel.
The hotel is smart and clean. The rooms are reasonably spacious and modern. The Pool is lovely but gets very busy with the usual ‘sun bed hogging’ going on. Couldn’t find anywhere to sit or lie yet many were ‘unmanned’. The restaurant offers good quality food. The main bonus of this hotel is it’s location as it’s just a short walk from Palma and the pretty marina.
I will start with the negatives, there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room which we were disappointed at as we like a drink first thing in the morning. The walk back at night from the nearby bars was a little dark around some of the quiet back streets. Everything else about the hotel we found excellent starting with the breakfast which had the largest choice I have seen in a hotel .All the staff we came into contact with were all very pleasant and helpful and the hotel was always quiet clean and tidy. For our trip the pool and terrace area always had sun loungers available and it lived up to it's name as the Urban Oasis ! We enjoy a couple of hours in the spa which we thought at 9 Euros was very reasonable. On our last day we were a little concerned that check out was at 12 ,but our taxi wasn't coming until 1930 ,but the reception staff said we could use the facilities all day and shower in the spa before we left. We really enjoyed our stay here and we wouldn't hesitate to come back or recommend it to others
We loved staying at this hotel, they upgraded us to rooms with balconies which was delightful when the sun came out. We hired the bikes every day to get down to the Marina, which is no distance to walk and to cycle to the nearby beaches. Very comfy beds and big showers. We loved it. Thank you to the staff too for a lovely break.
