We read all the reviews before booking our stay and weren't put off by the prospect of bad entertainment or few English guests because we didn't think either of these would bother us. And to a large extent it didn't although the Entertainment team spoke predominantly German and so sending our 5 English speaking 5 year old to the kids club proved a bad idea. Most nights the 'show' consisted of the 5 strong entertainment team miming to music and dancing. The biggest draw back to our stay was the room. Our party included myself, my husband, my 16 year old daughter and a 5 year old. When we arrived we were opened our hotel room to find a double bed, a single bed and a cot. I don't know who they thought the cot was for but we went and asked for a bigger room only to be told all the rooms in the hotel are the same size. I suspect that there would have been enough room in there for a family with two small children but as one of our children was adult size it was a real squash when they replaced the cot with a folding bed. Therefore, my advice would be to choose a different hotel if you have bigger kids and want space to move around in your room. Another negative was the food. We are not fussy eaters and can generally find something everywhere but we were disappointed at several meal times. What I found most disturbing was that meals were often labelled as 'fish and meats' - well what meats and what fish? There was lots of repetition and we found that whatever vegetable was left over from the night before was fried in batter for breakfast! Mmm battered broccoli with greasy sausage, baked beans, hash browns, fried rind (meant to be bacon) and rock-like croissants. On the plus side the splash pool was perfect for our 5 year old. The splash pool is located across the road from the main hotel and we found that it was much quieter than the main pool, always easy to find beds and although the pool bar there only serves soft drinks and beer it was a lovely way to spend the day. Whilst I wouldn't slate this hotel because it did have its plus points and we managed to enjoy our holiday, we loved Majorca and cala d'or, I also wouldn't go as far as recommending this hotel to any of my friends or family.
Booked this hotel at the last minute for 3 nights, we weren't expecting much due to the price but was pleasantly surprised. Check in was quick, rooms are nice and cool and clean and newly decorated, with a large bathroom. The reception and corridors could do with updating to match the rooms however. There isn't a lift which wasn't a problem for us but could see it being a problem for people with prams/wheelchairs etc. Food was hit and miss but seemed fresh, worst part was the hit breakfasts which didn't have anything we liked but they had plenty of pastries and fruit. Pool was a great size. As other reviews state this hotel is aimed at germans regarding the entertainment. All inclusive drinks included a small amount of cheap spirits and cocktails out of a machine which weren't the best tasting. All in all we had a great time here but can't justify giving more than 3 stars after doing other reviews of better hotels.
Reading the reviews before I was so worried about visiting but this hotel is so lovely , I haven't stayed in a three star hotel for a while and was concerned about the standards of food and stuff but how wrong was I .. The food was so lovely I couldn't fault it there was always fresh food being cooked and the standards of cleanliness were so high all the staff worked so hard keep it all clean. The children's pool was the massive highlight for me and my 19month old it was so amazing. Excellent location to the Cala egos it's 2 minute walk to lots of supermarkets , shops , bars and restaurants. Take the opportunities to have photos with the photography team they are so lovely and the prices of photos are so reasonable 4euro per photo Everyone said that it being a German hotel was a negative but they were all so lovely and friendly , the children's club was mainly German based but my little one wasn't interested anyway .... Overall a lovely hotel , I would Say close to a 4star more than 3 star with the standards of food and the surrounding areas with the pool ... The rooms were lovely cleaned every day and couldn't fault them at all. Excellent work everyone keep up the hard work xxx
My husband and I took our two kids (4 years and 7 months) for a week in May. The hotel was very clean, lovely rooms and very family friendly. My 4 year old loved the splash park so much. Rooms Before we arrived I emailed and asked for a ground floor quiet apartment and that is exactly what we got. Block 7 and 8 are the quietest and next to the car park. We hired a car so this was convenient. Clean and modern. There was a TV, fridge, shower, hair dryer (small). Bath towels (bring your own beach towels). We brought our own travel cot for our baby. We booked 2 adults and 1 child - there was no additional cost for our baby. Entertainment Great facilities - this is a German hotel so everything was in German but there was an effort to translate to English too. Our 4 year old did get a little lonely as he found it hard to make friends and communicate. Not an issue if you are going with friends or in a group. Food Fantastic for an all inclusive! A wide range and tasty. The staff work really hard and we always found a clean table. Location Right next to cala egos centre where there are bars, supermarkets, restaurants and 2 beaches in walking distance. We hired a car and went to playa Mondrago beach - was lovely just bring a pack lunch and walking shoes. Great holiday, perfect for kids and very reasonably priced. More like a 4 star hotel not a 3 star.
We came on 3/6/17 for 10 nights. We were put on a 3rd floor pool view room which was lovely, modern and spacious (I am very picky) the only downfall was the air con it was terrible it really does need updating I wouldn't of like to have stayed July/August when it's even hotter. The food was nice I enjoyed every meal. There were chips on every lunch snack and evening meal which is good I think especially if you have kiddies. I didn't think the desserts were all to good and there wasn't much fresh fruit available. The pools were lovely and the splash park for kids is fantastic especially now they have added a pool bar and toilets there (I think pool snacks would be brill instead of walking to the main area) we didn't go to the splash park the last 2 days as somebody had poo'd in the pool and the pool guy said he was going to close the pool for treatment but instead they fished out what they could see with a net.. we went back the next day thinking it was all clean and there was more but it was stuck to the slides and floating around so we used the larger pools. The sunbeds are ok although round the larger pools it was a fight to get the reclining ones in a morning and they were just solid plastic no cushion or anything so many people including my family of 7 brought lilos to put on top of them. The drinks were good and they did slush puppies in the all inclusive which was good for kids and ice cream during meals times and 4-5 in the afternoon. The entertainment was quite poor we thought it was mainly aimed at Germans and my 4 year old daughter found it difficult to understand so I didn't take her to the kids club. The Cala egos area was about a two minute walk from the hotel. Plenty of little shops, spar shops and bars. Sparkles bar was good the cocktails were nice and there was karaoke on every night with a free soft play area for kids and the steak house was lovely especially the surf and turf that we had one night. Cala d or was lovely the town had plenty of shops bars and restaurants and was 6-7 euro in a taxi there and it was about 5 mins in taxi the marina was closer but there were only restaurants there no shops so we didn't go although it did look lovely driving past. The mini train was £4.50 return per adult and that was nice to have a ride on but for us the taxis were cheaper. The beaches are very small in little coves but didn't seem to busy which was nice. The transfer to the hotel is 45 mins. All in all good holiday and if we got a cheap deal we would return.
I don't usually do this type of thing but felt like I needed to, in the hope that families do not do what I did! A week before visiting this hotel, my partner and I took a look at the reviews and set into panic. There were a few that stated there were a lot of Germans (which didn't bother us) but there was one which advised don't go unless you can speak German. Also a few more commenting on the poor food. For the rest of the week then we were worrying and not really enjoying the lead up to the holiday. However, there was no need to worry..... Granted, the hotel is mainly occupied by German people but this was not an issue. All the staff could speak English (better than I could speak Spanish/German!) and the food was fine. Some of the food is catered towards the German people but there was more than enough even for myself (a fussy English eater). The entertainment was ok. My partners daughter attended the kids club most days which she really enjoyed. The team were great with the kids and even as the only English child for a couple of days, the others still spoke English. A few people have commented on the 'Sundowner quiz' which takes place every day at 5.30. It can be a bit difficult to understand a couple of the questions but its still good fun and didn't really bother me. The hotel itself had more than enough things to go. Mini football pitch, tennis court, volleyball court, gym, splash park. Was only a 2 minute walk from Cala Egos which has shops, bars and restaurants. It isn't huge but is enough to stop you having to go to into Cala D'or every time you fancy a change of scenery. Please don't be put off by the reviews, judge it for yourself when you get there!
Two years ago we went to this hotel and had a great holiday, also due to the nice peopme we met - a couple with a boy with the same age as my son. And speaking the same language. So when I started looking for a holiday this year I thought, why not go back ... unfortunately it did not turn out so good as in 2015. Why? 1) When I booked in January I specifically asked for 1st floor poolside room. We ended up in a room on the second floor, above the hotel lobby, looking out at the back of our hotel and the back of the hotel next to us. I immediatly asked if it was possible to change, but due to heavy rainfall 30 rooms were effected so they did not have any rooms left. I could try again the next day. In the mean time new guest were arriving and they were directed to ... 1st floor poolside rooms. The next day I went to the reception again ... the answer: come back later today and we will see. More guests arriving in the meantime. When coming back later I said I didn't understand how that worked, I got a look (eyes rolling) and 'you don't have rp understand, we are the hotel and we do understand'. I started posing another question but the reception lady turned her head, rolled her eyes and walked away. I was stunned. Never treated so rude in my life at a hotel. After this I avoided contact with this blond "witch". Finally 2 days later I asked again if all the rooms were dry again and if there was a chance of changing. There was .. happy me. 2) The view was great, the room however average. It felt like they thought .. you made a fuss over the room, we will gice you your requestes view and nothing more! The airco and fridge did not work and the shower had been turned so often that it led it's own life spraying towards either the wall or the glass. Taking a shower was a challenge on itself. 3) The food in the restaurant was okay but no more than that. Lots of fried stuff (fried milk even), same rice everyday but with different ingredients. Fruit that did not look fresh. The watermelon we ate at the beach had more flavour than at the restaurant. Just basic all together. 4) The personel; really the was one guy who seemed to enjoy his work at the restaurant - he was friendly and kind all the time. His name is Sevilla. Chapeau to him! For the others .. they hardly made any connection with the guests. To me it felt like the hotel is busy all the time so the people who work there - especially behind the reception - do not make an effort (amymore) to make you feel welcome as a guest. Actually if feels more like; he is your key, please do not bother us any more. Arrogant with a smile. When we checked out they did not ask if we enjoyed our stay, if we had a nice holiday ... nothing. Not even wishing us good flight home. Before I wanted to advice this hotel to a colleague, but now I would say ... do not go there. We did have a great holiday, but not so much thanks to the hotel etc. There are better, friendlier hotels for the same price than this one for sure!
Having read the previous reviews after booking, I was a little concerned about what to expect - the reality couldn't have been more different. In my view, this is a really lovely hotel - its impeccably clean and has excellent facilities - the rooms, pool area, kids activity pool, sports facilities all exceed expectations and the shower area where we were allowed to get ready for coming home was absolutely beautiful and nothing like the usual skanky room hotels make available. The majority of staff are really friendly and helpful with the exception of the barmen who could do with a personality transplant and perhaps smile or try interact with guests on occasion! - to be praised are the staff in the dining room who dealt with a medical emergency with care and professionalism. I thought the food for an all inclusive option was really excellent - AI does get boring after a while but there was a huge choice of meals every day you would struggle not to find something and everything tasted hot and fresh - the bar snacks were of the burger/chips/pizza variety and these were also good. The downside for me was the entertainment which, apart from the usual kids clubs/songs, was pretty much non-existent and I would have been really disappointed if I had had to rely on staying there for entertainment at night. There was a quiz late afternoon but it was pretty rubbish and wasn't easy to understand the 'English' questions. As some of the other reviews state I think the majority of guests are German but so what - everyone had a good time - if you want an all English hotel then my advice would be to book through another company! All in all - excellent, lovely, clean hotel and wouldn't hesitate to return.
We have just returned and I am finding it hard to think of anything negative to say. So positives first; Location is Cala Egos, 2 minutes from beautiful beach, gift shops and bars/restaurants. 10 minutes taxi ride to Cala d'or at a cost of 6 euro. There is also a "train" bus that stops outside the hotel at 2.50 euro each which is a lovely way to see the sights. Hotel was clean and modern through out. The pools are great especially the waterpark which had slides to please my adventurous 10 year old and my more reserved 4 year old! Food was great for us. It isn't fancy, and some things are geared more towards German taste. We never struggled to find something we didn't like. There was always pizza, chips and pasta as a backup for my fussy eater, and hotdogs and burgers served at about 5pm. We have definitely all put weight on! Our room was clean and modern looking. The kids found Disney Channel was mostly in English so they were happy! The entertainment team clearly work very hard to make everyone welcome. We also found the other staff friendly and happy to chat. The other (mostly German)guests were friendly too. Negatives No lift up to room (this was only a problem when we needed to bring cases up and down). No bath just a shower in the room. My youngest hates showers! But honestly I'm being picky! Would recommend a ride out to Montreal Beach. 18 euro in a taxi there and back. Absolutely stunning!
widely spread 2storey hotel room around the pool Mostly german with kids, Food is ok drinks and service avarage wifi rate is rediculous.. better use your EU roaming ;-) Can't really recommend this place
