On check in the staff were friendly but there was a tourist tax payable on checking in you may already be aware of this as it is standard practice on the island. I rented out a safe and also paid a deposit on the key which was returned when I checked out. The room was pretty basic but clean. There was a TV but only one English channel which was a news channel. My room was at the front of the hotel facing what is a busy road but surprisingly I slept quite well but if traffic noise is a problem for you I would not recommend a room at the front of the hotel. Breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant and there was a good selection from fruit, cereals, ham, bread rolls and bread, omelettes, bacon, baked beans, cakes and a hot drinks machine and plenty of juice. Breakfast can get crowded due to fact that the guests at the two sister hotels also breakfast here so on a couple of mornings I found no tables available. There is a bus stop on the road outside the hotel and just up from the hotel making it easy to get in and out of Palma. The beach is only a couple minutes away and is a lovely stretch of sand that goes all the way down to El Arenal. If I return to Can Pastilla I will try a different hotel but this hotel is adequate enough if the price is right.
Hotel is very tired bathroom was massive but old you have to be a contortionist to reach the loo roll ! Shower curtain was hanging on by a thread of string from the ceiling. Cheap and not to cheerful is my description ideal for an early morning flight home as very close to the airport lucky we were out of season so flight noise was limits peak season I would think you wouldn't sleep much
Me and my son stayed for 2 nights only. We arrived quite early, at about 10am and expected to leave our luggage and come back later but we were checked in without even mentioning that check in should be at 2 pm. Our room was basic. Ok bed, tv, fridge. Nice and clean with a balcony and a good air con. It's not beach front but it is 2 minutes walking from the promenade. On the last day we checked out and left our luggage to be picked up later. They had a good shower available for use after check out. As budget hotels come, it doesn't get much better than that.
If you're just looking for a night's stay, near simple shopping and not too far from the beach, the Hotel Amic Gala is sufficient; however, if what you are looking for is a comfortable and relaxing vacation getaway, may we suggest you look elsewhere?
2 out of 5 since it fulfilled our needs, one night stay close to the airport. Ok price, but the hotel is old (don't have to be a bad thing) but really worn down. Mold spots in the ceiling, old and few power outlets, and we could not close the door to the bathroom. The walls are this as paper and we woke up several times during the night by people talking in the other rooms and walking in the corridor. Helpful staff for booking taxi to the airport. Good location close to the beach.
Its an older building and thats obvious. It is quiet tired in the bar, restaurant and rooms. Poor air conditioning that is little more than a blower really (at least thats what I had). Location is pretty good. 4-5 minute walk to the marina and restaurants and only 2 minutes from the beach. Typical over priced in tourist season buts per for the course.
We were a family of 2 adults and three children who had booked one triple room and one double. We arrived at 11pm at night after a late flight from Ireland to discover they didnt have a triple room. and they wanted us to split up into 3 rooms which would have meant the children sleeping in a room by themselves. I felt so very unsafe, as the bedrooms where located on the ground floor and the hotel is in an awful scummy part of Palma. Very basic hotel and an awful stinky smell walking down the hallway to our rooms which were very basic. Couldn't get my bedroom door to close without a huge effort. We were wide awake when we arrived and starving so we went out to see if we could find water and something to eat. The children spotted dodgy dealings and money being openly exchanged on the street. Awful area, at night. Maybe its fine during the day. HAd quick breakfast and left the hotel at 9am in a hurry. Charged 300 euro for the pleasure happy to get out safely. Have never been so ripped off.
This was my first time to Majorca, so I decided to find a resort that was close to Palma airport. The Amic Gala is part of the Amic group of hotels, with the Amic Micaflores across the road. The hotel itself is nice, clean and quiet. I booked the family into two rooms, which were close together. The first was a basic double, the second was a family room. Both rooms were similar, with the only main difference being the options available on the TV. We did not eat at the Amic Gala, so cannot comment on the food. Those who opt to stay at the Amic Gala, are able to access the small pool across the road at the Amic Micaflores. The hotel itself is approx 150 metres from the beach, which was ideal for us. It also has a few places to eat such Burger King, cafes, Kebab houses, within a 2 minute walk. There were a couple of down sides, which included dated balcony furniture, and the lack of wifi with rooms. I had to also pay an extra 25€ for a late checkout, but other than these, there were no major complaints. The staff are extremely friendly and will aim to help where they can For those who want to watch their pennies, this is a cheap and cheerful option.
Unless you have a proffesional interest i dirty rooms with non-functioning TV and aircondition and a bathroom swimming in mold, you should stay clear of this hotel. If you still do, try to hold your breath for the duration of stay
It's a very old room with a huge geyser machine in bathroom, ac machine in balcony. Feels like u have entered another era. Not value for money. Rooms are spacious though. Close to airport. Would not come back.
