I returned to the Hoposa Uyal Hotel with my daughter last week, having stayed there with my sister last year. On checking in we were informed that we couldn't have the room we had requested, (despite having made the booking over a year ago!), and had been allocated a room in the annexe. We were slightly disappointed but I assumed that the room would be of the same standard as the one I had stayed in previously. Wrong! Our room was almost at the back of the annexe with a side view which looked over the wall into the hotel swimming pool and toilets. A small glimpse of the sea, which is literally metres away from the front of the main hotel building, could be found if you strained your neck out over the balcony railings. Never mind, we thought, we hadn't come to spend time in the room, which we couldn't fault as it was spotlessly clean and well equipped. After quite a long day we decided to eat dinner in the hotel rather than walk into the town. On arriving at the restaurant door we were given a cursory greeting by the restaurant manager who asked our room number and then disappeared. We waited to be sat by one of the waiters and then that was it! We had to follow the lead of other guests to find our way to the buffet and the food! No service at all ! The food was OK, nothing special, but we would probably have eaten in the restaurant again had we not been treated so shoddily. Breakfast the following day, and for every day throughout our stay, gave a wonderful variety of fresh fruits, cakes, meats, cheeses, cereals and a full English breakfast too, but again, the service was non-existent. Not once were we greeted by a member of the restaurant staff. The hotel itself is in a beautiful location however location does not make up for poor service. We will definitely not be returning.

We spent 10 wonderful days at this hotel near to the beach! Comfortable and quiet room with a splendid view in front of the Sea!!! The service was perfect and a special reward especially for MIGUEL at the bar and at the service was wonderful, very Professional and very friendly too and also to the Chief who was friendly and with always good advices! We recommend strongly this address for a very relaxed stay if this is what you are looking for...

We have just returned from a week spent in the Uyal. This is our tenth year and this lovely, characterful hotel never disappoints in terms of quality and service. It's excellent location across the road and and a ten minute walk into town is ideal. I would have to really praise all of the dinning room staff this year who were so friendly, humorous and really helpful. The choice of food at meal times was extensive and of great quality, with the opportunity to try some local dishes as well. Looking forward to next year.

It's difficult to describe, but there's something rather special about the Uyal. The hotel is superbly run. The staff members are always friendly and helpful. The food (particularly breakfast) is excellent. And the public rooms and bedrooms are spotlessly clean. Add a glorious beach across the road and the resort centre just a short stroll away, and we believe the Uyal has all the makings of a great holiday. Just a word of caution though: if you want lively and rowdy this isn't the hotel for you. But if you want a wonderfully relaxing holiday base, attentive service, breakfast on the terrace (in summer) and dinner in a gloriously air-conditioned restaurant, the Uyal could be just the tonic. Unpretentious and friendly, this is a great hotel. We have just returned from our fourth holiday at the Uyal and hope to return next year. Our tip? Pay the little bit extra for a sea view and half board. And at night, maybe stroll down to the poolside Lemon Bar at the Hoposa Daina Hotel. We've stayed at some super hotels and always shied away from writing reviews. So in writing this, we've broken a rule. But the Uyal genuinely deserves a great review. Not that it needs it, as the glowing comments on Trip Advisor prove.

Yet another year in a fantastic hotel with the most stunning views - perhaps the reason we keep returning. Delightful friendly staff who are always willing to help. The hotel is in a great location offering a wonderful beach or hotel pool. The two beach bars offer a change to the hotel, both with good menus - Tamarells is our favourite. We enjoy beautiful morning walks in the lovely countryside with wonderful sunrise and sunsets. A trip to nearby Pollenca town should not be missed.

1st rate hotel & staff this was our 3rd visit & not disappointed at all food was excellent such a choice rooms very light & airy very clean staff was very friendly & helpfull great location getting ready to book for next year even meeting up with other guests who have stayed there before higly recommend

Porto Pollensa is a great resort, it has everything. The Uyal is in a very good location, on the quieter ned of the sea-front, but an easy walk into the town, only 15 minutes at a snails pace, but who wants to rush about on holiday, especially in 35 degrees. Right across the road from the beach, traffic is light as well. Very nice hotel, rooms spacious, a sea view room is a must. The hotel staff are very helpful & pleasant. The Uyal is very clean & tidy, especially from being next to the beach. The breakfast were excellent, great choice, the pool bar well positioned, as is the out side area. The evening food was also very good. All in all this is an excellent hotel, well positoned. You certainly will not be disappointed.

Our second visit here - everything you want in a hotel - just quiet enough but within easy walking distance to the busier area. Perfect if your a cyclist - all abilities. The new spa is a huge bonus.Staff always polite and helpful. Already booked for next year.

Many times in P.Polenca first time at Uyal - it is certainly one of the better hotels in the resort. Buffet food was good quality with service friendly and professional (gents wear trousers at dinner which I prefer in any case). Location is spectacular , situated at the quieter end of the resort with a 15-min saunter into the busier areas. The main attraction is the long sandy beach opposite for which the Uyal provides daily FOC towel rental. Our junior suite facing the sea in the main building had everything we needed , the maid was fastidious but the view absolutely outstanding. I would recommend to couples and family alike. The resort was very busy but a behaviour I have never seen before was people reserving sunbeds early in the morning in prime position on the beach with the hotel towels - returning later and then paying the normal 15EU fee.

Just home from a lovely stay. We are a family of 8 (including three children under 10) and we all had an excellent time. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, it's right across the road to the beach and our three seaview rooms were all lovely. I was travelling with my daughter, 15 months old, the room was very child friendly with a very comfortable cot with a decent mattress and a nice bathroom with a large bath. The balcony was very tiny, just room for two chairs but no room to walk about but it was fine for us. There's a nice pool and a small baby pool and there was live music at the hotel every other night. Breakfast and dinner is buffet style with a good choice and I found plenty for the baby and children to enjoy. The location is good, nice and quiet in the evenings and just a short walk to lots of cafés and restaurants. Great service, lovely hotel and I'd definitely go back.
