We stayed in a sea view suite, half board. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were made to feel welcomed. Reception staff were incredibly helpful, suggesting bus rides and trips. The hotel was spotless and all staff very friendly. Our room was lovely, with a beautiful view from the balcony. Great choice of food, all fresh and hot. Sebastian in the bar made the best mojito ever 🍸 We will definitely be back.
Ok so let's quantify my review. Single traveller on a cycling holiday and annual visitor to this area of Majorca. I have long admired this hotel from afar, the amazing reviews it gets and the fantastic seafront location when I have cycled past in previous years so I was thrilled to get a single room within budget for this year's cycling trip. I was so looking forward to my stay, but I will be honest I came away slightly disappointed but I a don't know exactly why, I know this is subjective. Maybe the atmosphere and customer service, it didn't quite feel right, it didn't ever feel welcoming and as a sole traveller you need that. The Good: - Clean, spotless hotel and room. - Superb location for walking to the port after dinner or cycling to the mountains or inland for the flat. - Large, seemingly secure, bicycle storage with fresh water fountain for topping up water bottles and track pumps and a washing machine (although I never saw it being used). The lights on a timer though, so if building bike up may be easier to do it outside. Whilst I don't have any complaints, there were a few things that I feel could be improved. What I didn't like so much: - Food ok quality, but felt very samey in the evenings. Hardly any variety at all for Breakfast. - Single room fairly small (room 365), and no view at all so as a result always very dark and dull room (but spotlessly clean). If cycling and need a balcony for drying bib shorts the single rooms may not be suitable. I struggled drying clothes. - The lift going up and down was audible from room 365. - When checking in I was not shown where anything was, despite asking for help to find the storage area for the bike. I wasn't shown where the bar was or anything, and this is unusual for Majorca hotels in my experience. Generally I found the reception to be very unwelcoming, and whilst not unhelpful they were not helpful either. For example when checking out I wasn't asked if I enjoyed my stay, it was simply here is your bill, they took payment, handed my payment card back and thank you, that was it. Also be warned. When you arrive they give you a card voucher for a pool/spa towel. Now I never use the pool or spa so could have easily thrown this away. But when I was reading the welcome later it says failure to return that card at checkout will result in a 10 Euro fine. Very naughty, this should have been made clearer when handing it to me. Would I stay here again? Yes, but only if all my other favourite Majorca hotels are full up. Reviews are subjective and I can see others like the hotel, and like I say, there's nothing really wrong with this hotel, I got value for money, a single room with evening meals for 310Eu so I can't complain but it just didn't feel welcoming for solo travellers, not like I have been made to feel at other Majorcan hotels.
Have just spent a week here over Easter 2018. Had room 310 in the Annexe. Stayed half board. Food excellent. Service really very good. All staff were very friendly, and eager to please. Weather could have been warmer. Strong sun but quite a chilly breeze. Location is stunning. Puerto Pollenca is very beautiful. Well worth a visit. Hope to return quite soon.
We’ve not stayed here as yet - however - we will be doing so in the future. So far we’ve only had lunch - a couple of times - and several stops for coffee or a cold drink. The location is perfect. Away from all the bustle of the resort, and with lovely views across the bay.
Had booked the sister hotel the Pollentia late booking in October. When we arrived we were told we were staying at the Uyal as the Pollentia was closing early for refurbishment. I was disappointed at first as I have stayed in the Pollentia for many years. We were put in the annex. the rooms were spacious and had a balcony and seaview. The staff were friendly (some I knew from the Pollentia) and the service very good. The food was good and lots of choice. Have already booked for next year and would certainly recommend this hotel.
It seems such a long time since we returned from our second visit to the Uyal but is actually less than a month. We had a wonderful time yet again and it is hard to believe that a mere few weeks ago we enjoying all that the Uyal and the resort had to offer. Our junior suite was really spacious and the bed was absolutely enormous. We really appreciated the convenience of both the fridge and the safe in our room and the use of bath robes and beach towels. New this year is a spa with jacuzzi, plunge pool, sauna and steam room. All spotlessly clean and very quiet. A great addition to the hotel facilities. We really enjoyed our sunshine breakfasts on the the terrace - definitely not an option once we were home! Great choice of both hot and cold food, omelettes cooked to order and delicious freshly baked rolls. The evening meals were also buffet style and were absolutely fine but not quite as good as last year. You certainly wouldn’t go hungry though. The day we left we had a snack lunch on the terrace and it was really excellent and very reasonably priced. The staff, especially the waiting staff, were unfailingly friendly and efficient. As soon as a table was vacated it was cleared and reset. We liked the fact that we were not restricted to a particular sitting or table for our meal. After dinner guests could get to know each other on the comfortable sofas (complete with blankets if you felt chilly) at the front of the hotel under the arches. The beautiful beach is just a few yards away across a one way street. Remember to look both ways when crossing though as there were bikes galore on the bike lane. The beach was fairly quiet in October so no problem getting a sun bed. We loved feeding the fishes every day. We did miss the wee beach bar which is no longer there but the nearby Spar did sandwiches, cold drinks etc. The hotel is at the quiet end of the town but it was a pleasant 15-20 minute walk to the main part of the town and a little further to the Pine Walk. There is a Spar a few yards away and several bars nearby for an evening drink. It seemed that the majority of the guests were there for a repeat visit - some had been coming for twenty years. We will certainly be amongst those visiting again and again.
This was our second stay at the Uyal, we love its location right across the road from the beach. The staff are vey friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and always immaculately clean. New for this year is the small spa complex in the annex, the garden outlook from the spa could do with some attention very sparse, however I am sure that will be done for when we go in 2018!!!
Smart, quiet beachfront hotel in heritage building with a deep, attractive terrace on two sides. Delightful in late October, and then good value. Private parking nearby. Excellent, varied breakfast and thoughtful ‘snack’ menu at lunchtime. Fine beach just 50m away. Within walking distance of Port de Pollensa centre with its many restaurants and bars. Pleasant staff.
I had a very enjoyable stay in the Uyal hotel from 22/ 28 oct...the Uyal is understated and elegant, with tradtional majorcan charm..room 151 was very comfortable with beautiful views of the sea and lovely palm trees and garden..A luxury bathroom and spacious entrance with a small balcony made the room a very uplifting place to be. The terrace and pool areas were delightful and relaxing..There was an extensive buffet each evening which was excellent. It is amazing that the staff could maintain such enthusiasm for the guests after such a long season, they were so friendly and helpful..there are lots of chill out zones with a modern twist which blend seamlessly with the essence of the hotel. The weather was magnificent and without the summer crowds oct. is an ideal time to visit...the friendly guests who stay there add to the enjoyment....5 stars+☆☆☆☆☆ to the hoposa group for maintaining such charming hotels.
Most enjoyable stay in an elegant, comfortable and clean hotel in an great location directly across the road from a lovely sandy beach with fantastic views of the bay, port, and mountainous headlands on both sides, with not a high rise building to be seen. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the port and centre of Port de Pollenca, and a couple of restaurants, bar and a supermarket are within about 100m. The room was modern, bright, well furnished to a high standard and comfortable, with good facilities, ie tea/coffee making, small fridge, safe (with no charge for use), hair drier, toiletries etc, and beach towels are provided at no charge. We had a sea view room on the top floor, which I feel was well worth the small supplement for the great views from the balcony. And, there was never any problem with getting a sun lounger around the swimming pool! There was easy free parking in front of the hotel or in its own car park at the rear. The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly, and provided luggage storage and the use of a room for showering and changing after check out on the last day as we had a late flight home, all of which added to the sense of outstanding customer service. The breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choice, with the option to eat in or outside on the terrace. We didn't use the restaurant for other meals. All in all an ideal spot for a quiet, relaxed holiday, in an area unspoilt by mass tourism, although as we stayed in mid October, the resort clearly wasn't as busy as it would be in the height of summer.
