Situated right on the beach, this hotel is the perfect gem in Cala Sant Vicenc. No through street with traffic, just peace and quiet and the sound of waves through the balcony door. Hotel staff was very friendly. Breakfast had everything we needed and was of high quality products, including a large range of local foods. And even though we often arrived late for breakfast, the buffet was replenished. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant almost every night, and the quality was very high. Excellent fish and sea food and a good wine selection. The beach is pebbles and our first purchase at the local supermarket was bathing shoes - the rocks are slippery and further out, we did see a few sea urchins. The water was perfectly clear and excellent for snorkling. The larger beach in Cala Sant Vicenc, just a few minutes away, is sand. There is a large resort right next door (adults-only) which was quite noisy at times, but since Cala Sant Vicenc is a small town, it didn't seem to attract "the party crowd". We were lucky as the water was very quiet during our entire stay. We did come back a few days later, though, and the waves were huge and there was no swimming. However, in the Pollenca bay, a short drive away, there's (almost) always quieter waters. We can't wait to come back to this little gem.
Wonderful hotel, wonderful staff and wonderful food in an idyllic setting! The hotel is small and intimate making you feel welcome. Facilities are excellent, rooftop swimming pool and first class restaurant.
MONICA and the entire staff made us feel welcome. Great setting in a secluded family friendly bay, pure food without being posh and very personal service with great sense of humour. I would highly recommend this place and. Hotel
very nice little beach hotel decorated in white & beige. Very clean, nice view on the cala. Restaurant has a nice terrace and good food. Unfortunately there was a wedding at the hotel and after the official diner, the drunk people shouted very loud until 4 o'clock in the morning.
This is a decent hotel in a splendid location, but it has a few shocking defects. It's not visible from the street, and the small sign is nearly hidden -- I drove past a few times without seeing it. There are no signs for reception, no parking lot, and so, if you have a car, you're in a bind. I parked illegally, found reception, and the receptionist seemed entirely unconcerned with my situation. When I came out, a laundry truck with an angry driver had blocked me in. It was a terrible beginning. Fortunately, everything else about my stay was fine. The hotel truly is right on the beach. The rooms are modern and well-maintained, comfortable but nothing special. The buffet breakfast was very nicely done. The town is lovely. While the Niu is small, it adjoins a large resort.
Stayed there July last year for 4 day surprise romantic break, room super comfortable and quiet hotel recently refurbished and totally updated with plunge pool and sun terrace on roof. Went back twice earlier this month to eat on the super gallery overlooking the bay. Service a bit slow but food, snacks at lunch or a high end dinner really worth the sometimes lengthy wait. If you have the partner you love and a bottle of chilled cava who is in a rush just soak in the atmosphere and then enjoy the chef's great food. Really worth a visit to eat and highly recommended to stay. Enjoy !
This is a small hotel placed basically on the beach. You are literally having breakfast, lunch or dinner just a few meters above the sand and beautiful sea. The staff is incredibly helpful, friendly, attentive and professional. When we arrived (at 6 p.m.) the kitchen was closed until 7 p.m. We were very hungry and they opened the kitchen for us and let us order whatever we wanted from the menu! I was so grateful! The premises are very clean and comfortable. I liked that they do not use very perfumed detergents and/or fabric softeners. So the sheets and towls smell like cleanness and not some weird industrial perfume. The parking is just across the street and it is free. We left our rented car there for a week and nothing bad happened. In case you want to try something new, there are quite a few other restaurants nearby (just a few minutes walking), as well as another beach. The beach near the hotel is a public one. Two sunbeds, an umbrella and a safe case cost 23 EUR per day (public tax). There are lifeguards who evaluate the state of the sea each morning and flag and potential dangers (e.g. jellyfish). The breakfast was OK, not fantastic. There was variety but I expected more season fruits (fresh, not canned). The lack of fresh high quality season fruits was a general problem in Cala San Vicente. Not sure why. The coffee was very good! One thing I regret I did not do, was to book a room with a balcony. For some reason, I thought it had one, but it was just my naive assumption.
Had booked two rooms to be close to children. One of the rooms booked was a sea view room, the room we had been allocated would have had passing view of sea via restaurant although it would have been close to our children as we asked. Reception staff all extremely helpful and gave us an upstairs room instead although further from children. If booking a sea view make sure you are getting one. Ground floor won't work. Nor will room numbers less than 106 at least. Check if you want a sea view. And... worth having as the hotel is right on the sea and you can lie in bed in the morning and watch the sun rise and hear the waves. It's wonderful from that perspective. Some of Bar staff and restaurant staff surprisingly slow and unfriendly. After one meal we didn't eat there again apart from breakfast (which is first class). Took over 30 minutes between asking for bill and eventually leaving. Nice pool on roof. More a large plunge pool than anything you could seriously swim in but good to have. Roof nice quiet space. Bus into pollensa etc right outside hotel. Beach nice but bring shoes as extremely stony. Great location and liked quiet setting.
Splendid hotel with the most beautiful view. Located directly at the beach. Wonderful and very helpful staff. Would definitely go there again next time I'll go to Mallorca. Just try it - you won't regret ;-)
We have just returned from a 9 night stay at Niu. I must say we had a wonderful relaxing time at this now modern hotel which is situated right on the Cala Barques beach. The rooms, amenities, food etc are first class but the outstanding feature of Niu is the staff. They all work as an obvious team ,based around the young manager, and go out of their way to make your holiday one to remember.
