Hipotels Hipocampo Playa4.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is located in a more quiet part of the Cala Millor resort, surrounded by mostly other 4* star hotels also owned by Hipotels. We were upgraded to a sea view room free of charge which was nice of them. Beach is a minute walk from the hotel. Staff were helpful and room was clean. Breakfast was okay (it is really hard find good breakfast in Mallorca and this was my 6th visit). Dinner is 24 euros per person so we chose to eat out instead. We previously stayed at Hipotels Flamenco nearby so knew what to expect. Had we had the choice, we would have stayed at Flamenco again as it is closer to restaurants and shops but it was fully booked so we went for this hotel. As many have pointed out, there are no tea making facilities in the room. Toiletries are only provided on the first day. Overall it's a good hotel and I would definitely recommend staying in this area but would perhaps try another 4* hotel nearby - just a personal preference.
I have visited this hotel several times now and have never been disappointed. From the moment you arrive the reception staff are courteous welcoming and very helpful. The rooms are well furnished and comfortable. There is a good selection of food available at breakfast and dinner and offers something for all tastes. As a solo traveller I felt particularly well looked after by all the staff and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Thai hotel for all solos. I used the indoor pool several times which was lovely and as it was early in the season very quiet. Perfect for a relaxing break. Coffee on the terrace even on very windy days was beautifully served by friendly and efficient staff. The only improvement I would suggest is that tea and coffee making facilities are available in all the rooms not just the upgraded ones. Having said that I will definitely stay here again.
We have just returned from this wonderful hotel. We loved this hotel from the moment we arrived, although there was an horrific downpour and the sky was dull and cloudy. From the time we booked in to our rooms by the efficient Reception Staff, Eva and Adrian, and the help we received with our luggage, we knew that our stay would be 'something else'. We had rooms with the facilities we requested when booking and the hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were all very smartly dressed and courteous. The surrounding area of the hotel was exceptionally well kept and the gardener (only one) was constantly seen carrying out his duties to a high standard. The other staff, cleaners, particularly Maria Jose and others who tided our room were very professional, courteous and a credit to the hotel. All the bar staff, Ramon, Antonio, Leo, Alberto and Packo (if any are missed by name I apologize) were extremely efficient, clean and hard working and most of all very polite to customers. There is no doubt that Ramon had a great team and service was superb. The other Reception staff, Catrina, Margara, Toni and Carlos (nightshift) were all very approachable, helpful, pleasant and nothing for them was too much trouble. The Restaurant Staff under Gregory were all very efficient and the food was served to an extremely high standard and the Chef and his staff made sure that it was all very well presented and extremely edible. Finally and in conclusion the Sub Director Maria and Director Theo were visible throughout our stay and made sure that the hotel was operation to a very high standard. If I have missed anyone please excuse me but you all deserve the highest of praise and we will certainly be back at this 'Wonderful Hotel' in the future. If anyone has anything detrimental to say about the hotel or it's staff, then they must be very hard to satisfy. !!!!!!!!
Room near top of building with angular view of sea. We slept with windows open as was too hot with the centrally controlled heating. This was a bonus as the sound of the breaking surf gently sent us off to happy sleeps in very comfortable beds. Lovely and clean. Food had plenty of variety and as much as you wanted though all the walking around the serving area difficult if you have limited mobility. Attentive staff. Beach just across the way and lovely area to explore in a car at this time of year as nearly everything closed (we like!) and plenty of space and not having to avoid people on pavements. Great if you're a jogger - lovely front. Outdoor pool was closed but small indoor would do at a pinch. Gym acceptable if small. Entertainment was not to our taste and slightly juvenile. Good, separate games room for anyone inclined to chess, cluedo etc. Word of warning, we parked outside near the front door (my mobility) and our rental car was keyed and back wiper broken off! We then noticed the taxi's use this area and presume we must have disgruntled a driver. Didn't make us feel very welcome and couldn't see anywhere else nearby to park, even though I have disabled badge. We ended up parking as near as we could with me taking breaks several times on the way back to hotel - not ideal.
You can't go wrong if youve booked this hotel great friendly staff, great animation team. Great food. No problems even Round and to get into pool if a wheelchair user. They do everything they can if you need anything . If you've booked this hotel, sit back and relax, a fun, great holiday, with help on request for Anything . A holiday you will have 👍no more worries because they really do care .
Standard 4* hotel with all facility and hard working stuff. Room was clean and with side sea view. Location is great. Special mentioned about food, it was one of the best I had. Entertainment needs some improvement. One disappointment was the aircon. It seems they don't have setup for individual room. Its either heater or aircon controlled centralized. Not ideal for sparing weather. we couldn't sleep first two night.
The hotel has well designed rooms with lovely sea views and balconies. The choice at breakfast is extensive and the quality good. The evening buffet also gives much choice and some of the dishes are cooked freshly on request. If you can be there on a Friday, the Gala dinner is really excellent. It is disappointing therefore, in an otherwise super hotel, that there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms and they refuse to supply a kettle.
This was a nice hotel with clean rooms, well maintained and nice staff. The hotel had a restaurant, but we were denied access as we had not ordered dinner with the room. Instead we could have some not too nice pizzas in the bar. We enjoyed the stay anyhow and would return if we came here.
Great weekend away. Room good service. Shops nearby. Beach was ok. Indoor pool was lovely. Food was good drinks reasonably priced. Worth a visit not much for young children. Good for weekend trip. Love majorca
The hotel was lovely- We went for 5 days in December straight after Christmas. Breakfast was plentiful and had enough for everybody lots to choose from lots of variety in all possibilities from drinks, eggs, sausages Mediterranean and more. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and hard working. The location of the hotel is nice- right on the sea front - you must have a car for this area in general though so we felt happy with the location. We found parking on the side roads for free. The reception was nice- however not the best for asking for places to go.. we had to work this out ourselves pretty much, The room was clean, tidy nice shower good pressure double sink. The only problem We had was with the TV- all the channels except two news channels were English- yet there was plenty of German, spanish and italian channels. It made time in the room sort of depressing with all the bad news that came on! The hotel had FANTASTIC WIFI- all over the hotel- finally a good hotel with good wifi. I run a company so internet is very important. Overall I am pleased with this stay and if we go back we would book again!
