Just returned from a week all inclusive at this hotel and can say it was lovely. The hotel was clean, the food excellent and the location perfect for us. Within walking distance of Cala Bona and Sa Coma so plenty of strolling in the sun as not warm enough to lay on a sunbed. The pool area is very small and I imagine a nightmare in high season so glad our stay was not in August. Our main issue was the building work going on next door which started at 6.50 every morning and continued until late. No lie in for us and was noisy when sitting on the Bar terrace in the afternoon.
Our room was large enough for our party of four. We had a double room and our boys had two made up beds in the lounge. We overlooked the the wooded area at the back. Which was pleasant to sit on the balcony, watching the sun go down in the evening. Loved the varied selection of food. You need to get down to breakfast before 9.30 or you may find yourself queuing to get seated (but it was Easter weekend holidays and it was very busy). The only downside was parking, as we had a hire car.We did struggle at times to get a space close to the hotel. Also there is building work going on at the hotel next door at the moment. So it was a little noisy. Over the road is a smashing bar restaurant with a game and crazy golf area. The food is great, staff all so friendly.Hope you find this review helpful..
Nice hotel close to the beach. Room was a bit older design but in perfect condition. Hotel is very clean, the food is good. Only the serving staff may be a bit more smiling, although the service itself is perfect and even speaks fluent German. Would not mind going back there.
Really enjoyable stay at this hotel. Very clean, comfortable rooms, pleasant and helpful staff. Dining room light and airy with excellent choice of food at every meal. Lovely views from rooms overlooking pool and Sun terrace very pleasant if not wishing to sit around pool. Would certainly return.
I don't know if there are enough superlatives to describe this hotel and I know reviews are subjective but we absolutely thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of staying here. Having looked around the area at length the Bahia Grande most definitely boasts the best postioning for the sun.. beach. . Access to both Cala Millor and Cala Bona as well as any of the other resorts. We requested a sea view and boy was it worth it I got up every morning at 6.30 and watched the spectacular sunrises just in front of our room. We chose the Bahia Grande for our 20th anniversary having stayed in Cala Millor/Bona many times since our honeymoon and we weren't disappointed in any way. Late arrival meant they had put picnic boxes in our room for us and red roses were waiting for me x the apartment was generous with loads of storage and a fantastic shower! The kitchen area was well stocked. The beds were very comfortable and both my teen children had their own full single bed so they were instantly happy. The pool was cleaned daily and there were ample sunbeds as many guests make full use of the location and go through the gate onto the beach. There's pool showers and loos and a brilliant pool bar looked after by lovely staff including Angel.. Ana-Belen.. Patricia.. Papa Elence and Benjamin they really get to know you. I did have to get up early to get a bed but with 6 floors and many guests that's standard in Mallorca I just watched the sunrise anyway x The cleaning staff all worked around the clock to keep the hotel immaculate and really took pride in their work we very much appreciated all their efforts so that wherever we went in the hotel it was so clean and tidy. There was an indoor swimming pool and spa but we didn't use it as we were busy every day there is also a private sun terrace away from the splash pool etc with luxury beds and showers .. I liked it up there it was peaceful great for reading etc. Reception staff (Julia Sharon Rodrigo Kim and Maria) were exceptionally friendly.. helpful and knowledgeable too.. we had some great recommendations on places to eat or visit and they were always smiling no matter what else was going on. There's plenty of activities and entertainment for little ones. But ours are teenagers so we didn't use any of it however the entertainment team work hard to provide as much as they can. We often went out in the evening so can't comment on the nightly shows. Food in our opinion was outstanding.. such a variety of choice daily and all made fresh.. given how many guests they have to cater for 3 times a day we were absolutely impressed with the standard of food produced consistently. The servers are so warm and friendly and we made a few long term friends.. if you need to know ingredients eg nut allergy or gluten free.. seek out José he will gladly assist you.. Everyone is welcoming and great with the kids if you make an effort to master some of their language you'll be rewarded as they try really hard to ensure good communications. The beach is just metres away there's areas to snorkel you can hire beds or take your own mats etc you can easily walk back to get your unlimited slush and drinks and use the loo it's just perfect. We stayed at Bahia Grande in early July 2017. Immediate impressions were very good with immaculate gardens and a welcoming foyer area. We were given a room on the fourth floor overlooking the beach area and the views were lovely. The room was very nice, utterly spotless, finished to a nice standard with plenty of space for a family of four. I really couldn't praise the standard of cleanliness highly enough, every day the room was cleaned thoroughly and with attention to detail - the cleaners really do an excellent job. It was lovely to come back to after being outside to the pool or beach. The hotel itself is on the southern edge of Cala Millor and was nice and quiet. There are some shops and restaurants nearby but the main centre of Cala Millor is only a 10-minute walk away. (The nearby Amapola restaurant is worth checking out) There are bus stops right outside the hotel and the road train is handy if you want a trip to Sa Coma or suchlike. Very easy. For us, with two young girls, this hotel was perfect for a simple pool-and-beach holiday. The pool area, again, was very clean and the pool itself is perfectly adequate. Sun loungers were busy at times but we would always get one. No different to anywhere else I suppose. There's a shop attached to the hotel, which for us on self-catering, was ideal. Overall I'd definitely recommend this hotel. Nice staff, welcoming atmosphere and a quiet but accessible part of Cala Millor. Ideal peaceful, simple family holiday - would definitely return.
We have just booked to return to the Bahia Grande after visiting 2 years ago. The hotel is clean and has spacious rooms which have good sized wardrobes and a kitchen space with everything in it you may need. We were lucky to get a room with a sea view which was fantastic. The hotel is well situated, almost on the beach itself, and there is plenty shops, bars and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. The white, sandy beach in Cala Millor is endless and you can walk for miles along it. The service in the hotel was excellent, hence our return which is not the norm for us! the only thing I would mention is that the hotel is on the slightly small side for so many people plus it is not always easy to get a sunbed. Other than that, i would definetley recommend the Bahia grande. You wont be disappointed!
We are here from 26th July until 5th August. We booked this as a treat to ourselves, for our Silver wedding anniversary, which is in a few weeks. Room 201 is a lovely, spacious, one bedroom apartment, overlooking a quiet a road. The rooms are well equipped and the beds are so comfortable. The hotel is spotlessly clean, all staff are very kind and helpful and work so hard. Wish the restaurant manager would smile though, he looks so unhappy - I know he has a huge responsibility, overseeing such a busy dining area, but his staff work so hard, and are so pleasant, perhaps he could relax more and smile. His unhappy look makes me feel uneasy. The hotel is right next to the beautiful beach, and a lovely 10 - 15 minute stroll into Cala Millor, which has fantastic shops. We are All Inclusive, and haven't been disappointed by food, drinks or ice lollies, ice creams etc, yet. Our cleaner is such a lovely lady, always happy and smiling. To sum up - lovely hardworking staff, comfortable clean hotel, gorgeous quiet location, good food & drink. Really enjoying our holiday.
Just come back from a weeks holiday, hotel nice pool area very small though you are on top of the beach, dining area also small and food basic we did eat out at least once a day but for the staff they were lovely nothing was too much trouble and all from reception to cleaners were polite and helpful
We stayed from the 7th July-14th July, family of 4. In a family room, no issues with the room , clean , modern , hot shower. Swimming pool tad small, and quite deep all over , only suitable for good swimmers. Sun beds usually gone and as the area is quite small it would be difficult to get a spot. Luckily the beach is lovely and we spent all week there , otherwise it would have been frustrating. Food, ok but mainly geared towards Germans, and lacking any great taste, but average not poor. Big issue we went half board, but to upgrade to all inclusive was £100 each , but most annoying was that we could not get water with our evening meal , without having to buy a bottle of water , or other drinks. So instead we went out everything night in lovely Cala Millor and had drinks there , and tapas a cheaper and more enjoyable option. The Hotel is ok , but I would suggest bed and breakfast , and enjoy the lovely beach and busy Cala Millor.
