Nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful staff at this beautiful hotel. Breakfast on the terrace was very good with a great selection to choose from. Ideally located close to the main square, tram line and train station. We would go back in a heartbeat. Love this place.
Beautiful hotel located just a few minutes walk from the centre of Soller. We booked a short break with our 86 yo mother and the hotel was ideal. Excellent service, extremely well maintained and peaceful, with easy walking around the hotel and in the town. The restaurant offered very good breakfast in an idilic garden setting, although the dinner menu was somewhat limited and didnt temp us. The hotel has a smallish but lovely roof top pool with great views, although it can get pretty busy. We would certainly book the Gran Hotel again. Only one note of caution. We booked rooms based upon the web site description which suggested that they had walk in showers. This was important for my mother who is unable to use shower over bath. Our actual rooms didn't have walk in showers, and although the hotel did immediately move my mother to a suitable room, it is worth phoning the hotel to book. The staff speak excellent English.!
This hotel is perfectly located in the centre of a beautiful Spanish hillside small town. Soller still feels very typical Spanish. There is no large super market. Everyone still buys from bakers, market or deli. The smashing square had a big church as its centrepiece with lots of restaurants surrounding it. It all very traditional. You won't find a disco chucking out at 5am here! The hotel itself is very clean and the staff helpful and pleasant. The rooftop pool had the most stunning views of the surrounding hills. The downside is there are only 25 sun beds so if you want one with some shade be prepared to get up early to put the obligatory towels out. For me this was disappointing as I don't do mornings especially on holiday!! The pool bar opens at odd hours so don't expect to get a coffee or tea around 11am. I also asked about the lunch menu and got given a menu that had very large meals on and expensive too. I asked it they did just a sandwich and got told no! Again bit disappointing for a 5 star hotel. The breakfast is very good but the dinner menu never changes so be prepared to go in to town for meals. The dinner we did eat one night was excellent and worth the money. Travelling with a 5 year old and still wanting some adult time we booked a suite. The room was perfect as our daughter was able to have her own room. I would highly recommend upgrading to this if you're travelling with children. The pillows were a bit odd with one long pillow and one square It was hard to get comfortable. The air con was poor too. Overall I loved the location but hotel could do better around pool services, other than that there would be no reason to have any complaints about this hotel.
Good hotel in a great location. Staff are excellent and helpful. Small but God pool on the roof with places to sunbathe. The hotel is very close to the centre where there are some great restaurants. Also the tram to the sea stops only 50m from the hotel which is really convenient. Well fitted out but slightly tired in places. It is not a luxurious 5 star hotel but I would say it is one of the best places to stay in Soller and would highly recommend it.
We had a basic double room in the annex but was adequate with small balcony - very clean with lovely big bed and amazing shower! The breakfast was adequate and you could request anything extra you would like . Staff were all friendly - reception staff especially Christina who worked in the afternoon/ early evening . She was extra pleasant and helpful and nothing was too much trouble .
We spent 3 nights here in June. The location is great and it has a lovely facade, but is astounding in its poor levels of hygiene and it's cheap furnishings. Everything is done on the cheap, from flimsy bedroom furniture, plastic bathroom fixtures, vinyl floor, alcove wardrobe with stuck sliding doors. The previous occupants had left their underwear in a drawer! We spent the first night shivering under a duvet cover, they had neglected/forgotten to fit a duvet! There was a ridiculous fake 4 poster bed in our room, which was too small for it and we had to manoeuvre around the poles to get to the balcony. As for the pool...there are 18 sun beds, and 40 rooms...do the math. Unless you are prepared to rush upstairs to the pool at 7am, and many did, you would be left lying on a beanbag if you are lucky enough to get one. Which leads to the next problem: the ground around the pool was never cleaned so the same bird droppings etc remained for the duration. Breakfast and dinner were served outside, and the flagstones were filthy, food stains, bird poo, spillages remained, again the area was never washed during our stay. The breakfast buffet was presented in ancient plastic containers, one big pottery vat of yogurt-no choice- possibly just topped up daily. Awful coffee. The staff were kind, friendly and helpful: except for the rude French lady at reception, she was quite condescending. We paid over €700: very poor value. 5 star...no. Not even 4 stars.
A great value luxury hotel with a family run feel. The staff couldn't have been more helpful attentive and friendly. Fantastic rooftop pool with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Just five minutes walk to the centre of Soller with its fantastic restaurants, shops and sights.
Another fantastic stay at the gran hotel. The superb staff make the stay even more memorable. Rooms are comfortable, food very good and superb location within a stroll of the main town square Sun terrace very comfortable .
The hotel was luxurious. The staff were all helpful. The breakfast buffet was superb and although there were scrambled eggs on the buffet ,the kitchen would cook poached, fried and boiled eggs plus omelettes and pancakes. The breakfast waitresses were very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a spa, sauna and indoor pool in the basement and a stunning reasonably sized swimming pool on the roof with very comfortable sunbeds. An elegant old hotel with all modern amenities
The Gran Hotel Soller is an excellent hotel with great facilities, brilliant food, lovely rooms and best of all - 5 star service from all the staff. My girlfriend and I stayed for 7 nights and found the central Soller location a perfect base to explore walks in the UNESCO World Heritage Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. Walks to the Port de Soller, Deia, Fornalutx are all accessible from the hotel and can take between 1-4 hours depending on the route. A Soller walking book which is available in most shops in the area is highly recommended. The hotel is also essentially on a stop off (within 20m) of the Port de Soller tram route which although slightly expensive is well worth a few trips! It's also a 5 min walk from the main Soller to Palma railway which is awesome and the best way to visit Palma. The downstairs Spa area is brilliant too with a sauna, jacuzzi and swimming making a great place to relax after a busy day. Only things that could be better are the downstairs pool temperature (could be warmer) and the room WiFi (works best in corridor).
