This was our second visit to the lagotel , the first one 2 years ago . We arrived at the hotel after an hours transfer about 2 am , very friendly and quick check in . We had a twin room with a sofa bed , which had been refurbished. Very clean and lovely shower , sofa bed ok but little bit cramped for our 11 year old but she coped !! Food .. no problem for us !! Plenty of choice and staff very quick and polite ! It was a little embarrassing on some occasions to see how our fellow brits treated the staff !! A thank you when someone is taking your plate goes a long way rather than clicking your fingers !!! All aspects of the hotel have been covered in previous reviews and we can't fault the hotel . The only thing I think needs looking at is the sun bed run !!! We used the pool across the road much quieter and no stampede at 9 am as there was at the main pool !! Grown adults running , falling over and fighting over a sunbed !! Don't really no what the answer is but someone is going to get hurt !! Lastly the quiet pool , the floor area needs hosing down more often at night ! Mind you if people put rubbish in bins and not on the floor ??! We will return but not next year as we have been priced out !! Our thanks to every member of staff as they work so hard they really do .
We came back here in August for the second time in two years, and I can honestly say that we had an absolutely amazing holiday again this year. So much that do both at the hotel and in the Playa de Muro. Hotel again was great, rooms were cleaned everyday that we were there, staff in the hotel are so good, always happy, and can never do to much to help. Food was great again, something for everyone over the ten days that we were here, with a good variety in the restaurant. Self service drink are also great as this cuts out the queuing for drinks. Would highly recommend this hotel to any family looking for a great holiday, in a very friendly and accommodating hotel. We have already booked to come back again next year for a third trip and can’t wait. Thanks to all the hotel staff for making our stay and holiday so enjoyable, and look forward to seeing you all again next year.
Was looking for a hotel that did all inclusive at a good value and found it!! I have no complaints about this hotel. The gentleman who checked us in at 1am was friendly and helpful. The food was vast and plenty of choice. I didn't drink alcohol so can't comment on that but was satisfied with the options. The pool is lovely and lots of loungers. Unfortunately It was wet alot when we stayed so couldn't use the pool much or explore the town bit the hotel sounded as though there was entertainment throughout the day. We did walk to port Alcudia which seemed to be buzzing with tourists and was generally pleasant. The only negative I had was the cleaning ladies. One day with left our occupied sign on the door to have an afternoon nap and the cleaning lady was so noisy banging the broom against the skirting and moving objects that I couldn't sleep through it. However, I would stay here again!
Lagotel is a lovely hotel, very luxurious for a 3 star hotel. Our only complaint is that the food in the dining room was usually cold, thank goodness they had microwaves, and often the signs above the food were confusing. The evening entertainment left a lot to be desired, but the musical quiz was great ! Overall a good holiday at a reasonable price.
me and my gf came here for a week for my birthday. we arrived late and was still greated by welcoming receptionists,we got checked in the was told they would open the canteen for us to grab light snack and drinks to tide us over till morning which was very good. The rooms are clean and spacious. with a big bathroom walk in shower etc. rooms have aircon but you have to pay for safe like most other hotels anywhere you go which we were expecting. Food was nice could be a little more labelled as some of it wasnt so prob a lot of waste caused by people no knowing what they were grabbing from the counters. everything is help yourself throughout the day from food to drinks all on tap whenever you want it. cant complain. 2 snack bars outside one by each pool with all you would expect burgers/chips hotdogs drinks etc. now for the entertainment it is what i would call unique hahah they really do try hard but it not for me although the bingo every night for 5 euro is really good lines paying 200 euro house 600 euro which is amazing. all in all had a good week and would come back again thank you to all staff at the Lagotel.
Really enjoyed this holiday we recently spent 10 days there and my children absolutely loved it the animation team are brilliant!! Our room was clean and we had great views across the pool food was fab especially breakfast! Snack bar and slushes great especially if you have picky kids, only thing I would say is the pools should be cleaned a little more especially the baby one other than that fantastic time.although my sons Lacoste £60 flip flops did get stolen from around the Also the reception staff was lovely! :)
Lovely friendly hotel really clean with lovely staff , only 2 things need addressing the amount of mosquitoes and the food needs an overall to much of the same thing and served warm a lot of the time if this could get sorted we would definitely go back
Booked this hotel for a long weekend getaway with my fiancée. After reading some reviews we thought we would have to make the best of it and eat out. We found totally the opposite!! Next time I will book a car as the drive to the hotel looked very easy and would probably only take 45-1h the transfer does take over 2 hours (nothing to do with hotel) Reception:- always friendly and helpful spoke better English than some of the English guests at the hotel! Always helped with information on busses shops etc. Rooms:- spacious, clean and lovely big walk in shower. Nice view over the lake and air con worked well. Restaurant:- was as good as most 4* hotels I have been to! My fiancée is Vegetarian and often struggles come meal times. Not here! So much choice for breakfast and dinner. Only went to lunch on our last day, lunch too was fine. All the food was hot and tasty. The waiting staff again really friendly. Bar:- bar lads great fun loads of choices for drinks Pools:- never a problem getting a bed we tended to stay round the main pool. Water a bit on the cold side but then it is the end of September! Entertainment:- the in house ents are very good wizard of oz show very entertaining. My fiancée who used to work for warners said the English girl dancer was very good! Off site:- beach is about 10 mins away and is a very pleasant walk a few shops and restaurants along the way. We thought the menus are on the expensive side so never used them (food in hotel that good we didn't need to!) Got the bus to Alcudia old town well worth a visit! All in all a great experience will definitely return next time for longer! Pleased ignore the bad reviews! I don't know if they stayed somewhere else but the reviews don't correlate to anything we found! This is a 3 star hotel and some aspects could be a 4. Look forward to returning Many thanks.
So unlike the majority, we stayed on a self catering in the adjoining apartment block. Arriving at Palma at gone midnight, the FREE transfer bus got us to the check in desk for around 2am. A friendly chap took our passports, issued the room key and sorted out the tax payable for our stay. The apartment itself was fine for our needs - with spacious rooms and a couple of balconies. Sadly my wife was room-bound for a couple of days with suspected (but not confirmed) food poisoning -so on days when we had asked for the cleaner not to enter we caught up with her to sort rubbish collection & fresh towels, etc. The kitchenette had the basics - though the hinge on the fridge door was corroded and so was very noisy! In the bathroom there was an issue with drained water from the bath reappearing in the sink & bidet. Nothing that can't be sorted - and I'm guessing at this stage of the holiday season there is a fair amount of sand/hair and other things lining the waste pipes. Staff on the front desk were polite and helpful - assisting when I enquired about the call-out doctor, return coach and so on. We hired the row boat one afternoon and that was good fun. Pools were good, though the smallest one near the hotel didn't appear to have any active filter system (So we steered clear). It was quieter 'over the road' anyway, so we spent a couple of afternoons over there. Without the all-inclusive wristbands it was possible to get drinks from the bar inside the hotel - though that wasn't made particularly clear. The outside bars are staffed but have no means of taking payment.... Entertainment was loud and didn't start until late, so it was often between 11.30-12.00 before things quietened down 'outside'. We stopped for a drink one night on returning from the town, but didn't go much on the drunks dancing to Michael Jackson up on stage. Each to their own... Of the three of us only I got bit alive by mosquitoes - but we bought a zip up tent thing on ebay to protect our 3 year old and that worked a treat for £10/11. To be honest I don't think they were even in the apartment and that my bites were suffered whilst out and about each night! For the money & location, our apartment was - as the title suggests - great value. The apartments could do with a refurb, but they are priced in line with their current condition in my eyes. We'll most likely be back one day....
I have been back from Holiday 2 weeks now and always try and give it suitable time before writing a review. Firstly, don't be put off by the reviews you get from some people as I tend to find that one negative experience is enough for people to let it overshadow their whole Holiday. I also think people need to be more realistic in their reviews of the Lagotel, firstly with the fact that it is a 3 star and in my eyes, a very good 3 star Hotel. Secondly, and one of my biggest bug bears that people seem to hold against the Hotel is the transfer time. Playa de Muro is at the other side of the island to the Airport and from experience, there are always multiple drop-offs so I was astounded at the amount of people who complained about transfer times being in excess of an hour. Both the 3 star issue and the transfer times are basics that people should be aware of as part of their preparation. ARRIVAL - A lovely, clean, cool spacious Hotel lobby awaits on arrival and throughout the Holiday I found the staff on the desk to be very helpful, whether it be providing information about excursions, directions or bus timetables, they spoke good English and were very friendly. We arrived before we could check in and were given a key to a room to store our luggage. We were given all inclusive wristbands straight away and directed to the indoor bar for Drinks. THE ROOM - Fairly modern, though two single beds pushed together for a double was not ideal and our two Children (7 and 5) had a one up one down bed, whereby the lower level slid out from below the higher one which was just fine. Bathroom was superb with a great modern walk in shower. Air con was good and a decent sized balcony overlooking the National Park ( I think it is) The only thing I would change is I would ask for a room overlooking the Pool and stage so that my Wife and I could have watched the Evening entertainment as the night wore on as our kids got tired. But again, I knew it was a six storey Hotel and that not all rooms faced the stage so that is not the fault of the Hotel. FOOD - Plenty of good quality food at Breakfast, Dinner and Tea (I am from the North). Breakfast offered numerous Cereals, Yogurts, Toast, Croissants, pancakes, full English options and if you cant be happy with that then the issue probably lies with you rather than the Lagotel. Dinner was again plentiful in supply offering a wide range of Pasta and Salads as well as fresh Fish, Vegetables, Potatoes, cooked meats etc and again there was more than enough, in my view, to suit all tastes. Tea was again plentiful in options with a Soup offering each Evening, and carrying on in a similar fashion to Dinner with Hot and Cold meats, Pastas including Lasagne and Spag Bol, English favourites like Chips, Burgers etc. They also had cuts of meats in a Carvery style served each evening be it Pork, Beef, Turkey, ribs etc. Again, I am not saying there was the biggest variety on offer but there was plenty for all. In addition, for those not wanting to go indoors to eat at Dinner time, the snack bar had Chips, Hot Dogs, Burgers, Chicken Nuggets, Fish bites etc. alAdmittedly it was not Master Chef quality but it keeps people happy, especially the Kids. DRINKS (Self service) - A good selection in my eyes, soft drinks were Fanta orange and Lemon equivalents, there was 7Up, Coke/Pepsi and a few flavours of Slushy which the kids loved and was an easy, albeit sugary, way of keeping them hydrated. For the adults, Estrella was the all inclusive Lager which I was more than happy with and my Wife said the Sangria, Rose and White Wines were all drinkable. However, for the cultured drinker, I noticed Blue WKD in the fridges but as with some of the high end spirits, you would have to pay for these. SUPERMARKET - The on site SHOP was well stocked with everything you needed and as the majority of guests were British, the stock seemed very heavily based on catering for us, especially alcohol wise where there were more Blue WKD, Bacardi Breezers, Rekorderligs etc and some variation on the Lagers. It was slightly more expensive in the shop than at any of the numerous Spars within a 15 minute walk of the Hotel but for ease of access, it made sense, and the shop was well stocked with things for those doing Half Board as well other crucial items like Sun Creams, After Suns, Footballs, inflatables etc. ENTERTAINMENT - I would divide this into 2 aspects, the day time activities and the Evening Entertainment. I thought the Daytime activities were well co-ordinated, particularly from a lad called Zayn who I saw running the Darts, Archery and Football which I though he ran very well in order to ensure the activities were competitive but also safe. The Swimming Pool activities were also very good with the water Volleyball, Water polo and Slack line also providing great entertainment. However, I wasn't a huge fan of the Evening Entertainment. I thought the Kid's Disco was average at best and from there they had Bingo each night. Now don't get me wrong, the Cash prizes were great but the amount of time wasted between the end of the Kids Disco and the commencement of the Bingo was ridiculous and certainly not entertaining. The main shows were okay with things such as Mr/Mrs Lagotel, Adele tribute, Snake Show, Parrot Show which were a combination of Entertainment team run or acts brought in from outside the Hotel. The highlight of the night was the Club song which was the closing point of the night. POOLS - Generally speaking there were 2 pools, the main one where I have heard a lot of people tailoring the truth around the Sunbed run - it really wasn't that bad and in any case, you could rock up at 9 am opening time and still get a bed, which was our plan. Alternatively there was the Breezers pool which was across the road to the back of the complex. This had a more relaxed feel and could best be described as a more adult environment as the families, certainly the younger ones, tended to stay around the main pool by the stage. The pools were pretty clean though some Lifeguards were more overzealous than others. OTHER ACTIVITIES - Pool (2 Euros), Football court (Euros per person), Crazy Golf 93 Euros per person), Table Tennis (2.5 Euros per person). These were the prices that applied when you wanted to partake in the activities outside of entertainment team organised events and whilst the facilities were a little dated, they were a good break from the Sun Lounger for an hour or so. MOSQUITOES - This is a real problem and cant be dressed up any other way. Even with repellants, Citronella candles (can be purchased in the shop for 2.5 Euros) and plug-ins in the room, my Wife and I were still bitten on numerous occasions and there were plenty of people for whom it was evident had a tougher time than us. However, it is well documented in reviews that this is the case so again, if you do your prep, this won't surprise you. LOCAL AREA - a 10 minute walk to the beach, although the Hotel offers a good shuttle bus service on a regular basis. The beach and the Sea were clean although we really only ventured there in the Evening as I am not one for fighting for a spot on the Beach and it is easier to oversee young Children in the Hotel Pool than the Sea. There were some nice Pubs and restaurants by the sea front too as well as numerous Spar shops in the area - I always liked to have a break from the Estrella by purchasing a few litre bottles of CruzCampo and San Miguel here and there as well as some Crisps. We also went to the English Pub 'The Swan' a few times to watch live Football. there were some nice souvenir shops off the Deckchair roundabout which is situated 100 yards back from the Seafront and there is a good bus service on that road. You could travel to Palma, which we did to watch Real Mallorca play, for 5.9 Euros each way on the Bus and another excursion took us to Alcudia old town, 1.55 Euros each way. I have head some people say that there is no need to leave the complex but I disagree, I like to get out and about where I can when on Holiday, even whey paying for all inclusive. All told, I enjoyed it. It was a 3 star Hotel in a pretty good location. Admittedly, in certain areas there are things that could have been better and if I were more demanding by nature, I could have done things to make it better like requesting a room that faced the stage. However, the key for me was whether the kids enjoyed it, which they did and for what we paid in a 3 star hotel it was a good Holiday representing good value for money.
