Great service and a classic local ambiance, grand views to match with quality food, all hard to beat. From the moment we arrived everything was taken care of, including the fixing of a messed up suitcase by the airlines before we even could settle in. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. A wonderful place to return to as we have over the years.

Hotel was beautiful, especially the outside Lounge, Terrace and Pool Areas. Great views, nicely decorated and relaxing. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Rooms were spacious, very clean and a comfy bed. Bathroom was a little outdated and crowded (too many doors). Good location...10-15 minute drive to Palma. Easy access to roads to Mountain towns, ie: Valldemosa. Golf courses right there.

If you've read any of my previous posts you will know that I am fussy - but this hotel was great. Lovely setting, great room, excellent staff and good food. Really everything you expect in a 5 star hotel. We would definitely go back.

Just returned from 5 nights at the Castillo Hotel Son Vida. We had excellent service, everyone was very friendly and we really enjoyed the fantastic breakfast on the terrace. The views are terrific over Palma bay, and we found the swimming pools to be really good and it was quiet but that may be because we visited out of season. The Hotel is about to upgrade the indoor pool and guests will be able to use the nearby Sheraton Arabella Golf Hotel. There is a shuttle service to the neighbouring hotel and golf courses and also a free taxi service if you wish to dine at the Sheraton.

We have been holidaying in Palma for many years and always stay at Son Vida. There is a good reason - the wonderful staff make us feel very much at home from the minute we arrive. And so many of them are well known over the years we have visited. It would take too long to mention all of them but people make a hotel truly great and the staff here are truly special. From check-in to concierge through leisure staff, bar tenders, waiters and kids' club attendants. All offer the best in personal service, from parking your car to advising on concerts, restaurants, etc. Of course the rooms are great, the food is very good and the facilities first class. But there is only one Son Vida. Wake up in some hotels and you could literally feel as though you were anywhere. Son Vida is different - it is a one off. A special place indeed.

This hotel just has it all.Had a very relaxing holiday. There was nothing the staff wouldn't do.Their service was excellent. Lots of different patios to sit on.The views over Palma and The Cathedral were good. Their restaurant and buffet nights were excellent. Rooms spacious and decorated with class.Had a great holiday.

We had a marvelous 4 night stay at the incredibly beautiful Hotel Son Vida. Our mornings started with the best breakfast buffet ever served on the spectacular terrace overlooking Palma and Bay. The Buffet was a luxurious feast of meats, cheeses, pastries, etc, etc. As good as the food was, the view from the terrace were the perfect way to set the mood of the day. The pool area was also luxurious and well serviced by helpful attendants who set up your chair just as you like it. The rooms were all lovely and ours had a terrace with a harbor view too. The beds were especially comfortable and the A/C was very quiet. The ground and common areas of the hotel were meticulously cared for. The hotel is located 4 miles from downtown Palma so it was easy to get into town and back, but tucked in the hills above town away from the hustle and bustle.

This was my second time in Mallorca and after this visit at this hotel, I don't ever want to go back. Certainly, though, never back here. I understand it is high season in August, but that shouldn't mean you turn into a 3 star hotel. To start, when we checked in we were told breakfast was not included in our rate. Fine. Not a big deal. Upon check out, we see we were charged the rate with breakfast and the check-in employee failed to provide us with the correct information. I personally, think this is uncalled for and lack of attention to detail for such a "five-star" hotel. I asked to speak to the Manager, Bettina Kofler, who was I think one of the most rude, unaccommodating, unsympathetic people I have ever seen working at a hotel. She refused to make any niceties to amend the mistake. She blamed me and said I should have seen it on my original email confirmation that bfast was included. !?!?! I mean, sure, I could have looked at that, but is it so foreign to trust the employee at the hotel and not have to double check their work? She was beyond rude. She claimed she would follow up and she never did. The stay was not that great, but her attitude and manners left us leaving the hotel with an even more terrible view. Not to mention, I am an SPG Gold member and it is not my first time staying with them... On other accounts, the hotel is quite old and run down. If you are lucky to get a "renovated" room, I guess good for you. But renovated to them means 5-10 years ago. the bathrooms are archaic and stale. The pool-- oh gawd. My worst nightmare. Understand it is busy season, but it was impossible to get a pool chair. They were piling up additional pool chairs basically in the garden to just accommodate people. Plus, don't expect any service at the pool. It's chaos and you actually have to PAY for water. Unbelievable. I wouldn't ever stay here again. Stay at the Jumeirah or somewhere in the city and go to the beach. The pool here doesnt substitute for the beach.

We went here for 5 days. I would say that the hotel in general is truly a 5 star. We had a standard rather small room, but newly refurbished. Everything you need is present. The beds are fine and the room is visited twice every day by the cleaning ladies. A plus is the quiet surrounding of the hotel. We were satisfied of nearly all services and accommodations of the hotel. Wunderfull terrace. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner on both terraces, quality of food was good. However the breakfast needed some upgrading according to our opinion. The eggs were not hot and were made very dry, the coffee wasn't great, the bread wasn't of a fine quality, the jams presented in jars ! and the fruit wasn't of a high standard for a 5 star hotel in Spain. needs to be reconsidered ! Lunch and dinner were much better ! We ate several times in restaurant Es Castell, also because the Es Vi restaurant was closed. Wines starting from a reasonable 30 € till ... very good choices in Spanish wines of course. Service was fine as expected. Nice atmosphere, tablecloths, cutting dishes on the table side, very nice view, etc... 10 min. from Palma de Mallorca with taxi for around 10 - 15 €.
