From the off it was a 'toss-up' between Cala Millor Gardens or Pollenca Park Hotel in Puerto Pollenca (which we have used a couple of times before) the price difference for the week was £7 on the 'all inclusive' option, so nothing to help decide with the price. The overall stay was very good and a gorgeous sunny week was enjoyed by both my wife & I. The cleanliness of the hotel is very high in all areas from personal rooms to public areas including the dining room. The beds were made every day and the room cleaned. There were plenty of sunbeds available without feeling the need to join a minority of guests 'occupying' loungers with their towels before breakfast and the pool area was peaceful and enjoyable The food I thought was very good and I enjoyed the varied offerings of the salad bar whilst my wife preferred some of the many options available from the hot food and the 'show cooking' for which there was something different each night. The staff in the dining room were polite and helpful as well as very busy 'turning round' tables to ensure nobody was waiting for a seat to dine. We never experienced any wait at all. Food is as you would expect is self service but the drinks for lunch & dinner are ordered with the 2 or 3 drinks waiters on hand. This could get a bit slow. As hard as they were trying to fulfil all drinks requests there could have done with another waiter/ess at least. The dress code for dinner was explained to us on checking in and I am a great fan of this slightly smarter (long trousers for men) code. However it was not always enforced and on each evening I noticed at least 6 men choosing not to follow it. On most evenings drinks in the lounge bar were quickly and sometimes too directly served by one particularly surly barman. It quite often seemed that he was just too busy to serve all guest in a slightly 'warmer' manner. The biggest negative is that the room we had was just too small and has been a criticism of other TA reviews. Once unpacked there was just nowhere to put the suitcases be it either in the wardrobe or under the bed. The wardrobe was of such a size that the doors had to be closed in one way and one way only to be able to close. (For information our bags weighed 17.5kgs each at airport check in, so we are not 'overpacking') The hotel is vastly dominated by German tourists of which all of those we were able to converse with were very friendly and good to be in the company of. Outside of the hotel one can enjoy a walk along the shops & stores into Cala Millor or enjoy a similar route but walking along the sea front. I like to keep up with UK sports and found the very nearby Sportsmans Bar very good for a change of environment. Not at all rowdy but very good if wanting to take in a bit of TV footy. I hire a road bike for a couple of days for some long rides from Sancho bikes on C Mollins and they were great. For my liking I like the less commercialised Puerto Pollenca and will likly head back there next year but don't be put off with this place as you won't be disappointing.
This was our second stay at the Cala Millor Garden and we returned as it was so good. Just after we arrived we asked if it was possible to change our room for one with a view over the poolside, this was not a problem and we went straight to our new room , the reception staff were all helpful and friendly. The rooms were well cleaned on a daily basis and fresh towels supplied. The restaurant was excellent and food cooked to a very high standard. There was a wide variety to suit all tastes and many dishes cooked individually eg.. eggs and omelettes for breakfast and pasta at lunch and dinner where you can choose exactly what you want. Plenty of very fresh fruit and some lovely desserts that you can watch being made by the pastry chef. The chef's were friendly and always had a smile. Drinks were good including the cocktails and were served by fun friendly barmen.....a couple in particular went out of their way to make sure our glasses were never empty. There have been some negative reviews about the German barman favouring German guests but we found him to be very friendly towards us. We were disappointed to hear other English guests stating that there were too many Germans.....we found them polite and preferred their company . The hotel has lovely grounds and plenty of seating areas and sunbeds . The whole outside area is thoroughly cleaned every day and looks spotless . Lovely outside bar by the pool to sit and relax. Fantastic four course meal outside that you can book for no extra cost once a week was superb.....we were surprised that not many guests seem to book it as there were only a few of us dining. The evening entertainment was generally good with a couple of Amazing nights and one too embarrassing to mention. We felt it was a shame most nights entertainment were held inside the bar and not outside on the stage. We were told it was a bit chilly but after the entertainment had finished, most guests sat outside as it was very hot in the bar area. It's a great location near to shops and the beach and is reasonably flat so good for guests with limited mobility. We had a fantastic 11 days and didn't want to come home and will definitely be returning again. Thanks to all the staff who made our holiday so great.
Hotel was very nice, staff really friendly, rooms were nice and clean, if a little small. We were all inclusive and the food was very good with a varied choice of foods, 2 cooking stations cooking meat and fish every night, must have been a different type of fish every night, everything cooked very well, staff in the restaurant were very friendly, nice pool area with 2 pools, plenty of sun beds, no need to rush down at silly times to get a bed, bar staff were good and service was very efficient, only downside was that the Germans totally outnumbered the other nationalities and seemed to be better looked after, day and night time entertainment was quite good, adults only was also a plus
We booked a last minute trip to Cala Millor Garden after we had to change part of our honeymoon to Florida due to hurricane Irma. We booked on the Sat and flew out Tuesday. The hotel was very clean, room nice and bright and beds comfortable, maid service excellent. The pool area was lovely and the baseline beds were worth the €15 Euros to use for the day as this includes champagne, fruit, juice and cakes. The hotel is in a good location near shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. We ate breakfast and lunch in the hotel and the food was ok and plenty choice. We tended to eat out in the evenings as we enjoy trying new places and there is plenty choice in the area all walkable. A fantastic bar just a 2 minute walk is the Sportsmans, the staff are so friendly and welcoming it really is a great atmosphere and lots of fun. We also had spa treatments in the hotel which were really good and on a rainy day enjoyed the indoor pool area to chill out. We also visited the caves which is worth a visit 15 mins away in Porto Cristo. Recommend booking online using your phone to secure slot as it gets busy. Overall we enjoyed a relaxing week at the Cala Millor Gardens.
Overall view of this hotel - GREAT Staff excellent, food good , entertainment so,so , one excellent night ,one too embarrassing to comment on, hotel very clean & tidy rooms cleaned every day to good standard. Only niggle is the dress code for evening dinner was not enforced at all, We always get dressed for the evening meal but we were surrounded by people in shorts & t-shirts if the hotels have a dress code then it should be enforced, otherwise would recommend & would definitely go back.
Hotel 5 minutes from sea front & main shops. Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly & helpfull. Fabulous gardens & plenty sun beds. Great choice of food but maybe few more choices for English at breakfast.
We are 2 single very mature ladies and we have just spent 10 days at this hotel. We had 2 single rooms and whilst being on the small side we had everything we needed including the most fantastic showers. When we first arrived the German / English guest ratio was about 80/20 but later in the week many more English guests arrived so the ratio was approx 60/40 but everyone mixed really well. We only had one problem with a German barman in the main bar who would totally ignore someone who was English and serve his fellow countrymen. All the other waiters were lovely especially Marcelino who worked tirelessly in the pool bar and Eric and Ruben in the dining room. There was a full entertainment programme if you wanted to join in run by the lovely Sarah. The entertainment at night was a bit hit and miss the best nights being the Bee Gees tribute act, the flamenco act and the best night of all was the show put on by the Garden Experience team it was just like being at a top west end show. If you are lucky enough to be at this hotel when they perform this show you will have a great time. Whilst we were there a couple of guests were in wheelchairs and they had reserved tables in the restaurant which we thought was a really nice touch. The hotel is really wheelchair friendly in all areas. Lastly thank you to (Mel C ) on reception for looking after us both. This is not her proper name but we both thought she looked like Mel C from the Spice girls so we nicknamed her Mel . We had a great time so thank you Cala Millie Garden spa and chill out hotel.
The hotel was always kept clean and tidy and that goes for our room too, the cleaners did a very good job and it always put a pleasant smile on our face when we came back to the room after the daily activities, the bar and front desk staff were helpful and friendly and the waiters and waitresses were also great, there was one waiter who espically stood out, not sure how to spell his name but I think it was Marcelo Sanchez, he always had a friendly smile on his face and was always happy to help with any request we had, really believe he gave 110% effort into our service all the time, night time entertainment was also very good, as well as the daytime activities giving us a wide range of things to do and trying new sports out, e.g. I never played water polo before however I thoroughly enjoyed it, the night time entertainment was packed full of singing, dancing and live acts and it was pleasing to watch with a cheeky bevy, which was all inclusive so that was espically naughty. I'd like to say all in all it was a terrific holiday and I had a very very good time.
Not a bad hotel however small bar reasonable service but the place stinks of smoke due to the enclosed smoking area on one side of the bar . Restaurant good . Good quality food and overall good service . Predominantly German guests
Second visit to this hotel and have to say we were just as impressed as our first time there. Reception staff are welcoming and friendly and the cleanliness is the best we have seen in any hotel. Selection of food on offer in restaurant is vast and all to a good standard. Service in the dining area is prompt and not intrusive. Great waiting staff, especially Marcelino, Monica and Noellia. Bar staff also had great banter. The only disappointing element was some of the evening entertainment. A real mix in professionalism but still some fantastic acts mixed in.
