I had the most fantastic holiday , beautiful scenery and hotel. Food and entertainment was first class. The hotel was situated on a cliff with its own cove . After breakfast every day my son and myself would take our lilos and walk to the rocks which led down to the sea and spent a very pleasant morning floating on the beautiful blue sea.
This was a pretty typical 3* all inclusive. I got a good deal considering my room was sole occupancy but I would have been less happy if I'd paid some of the prices I saw later. It was a good deal for a family of four in one room. The location is great but the beach got very crowded so I can't imagine what it would be like in peak season. The rooms were OK. Mine was over reception and could be a bit noisy in the early mornings and trees blocked the sun.The family paid extra for a sea view which was lovely, as were the views from the two terraces. It would not be good for anyone with mobility problems as it is down some steps to the first terrace the down some more to the pool area - where the only bar is in the daytime. The path from there to the beach also involves some steps. The food was OK but there wasn't very much for vegetarians apart from the salad bar, which was fine. Also there was no labelling apart from pictures of animals. Even if I ate meat I would be put off by the picture of the cute little lamb!! It is a pity they do things like put bits of ham in the green beans. I can't understand why all hotels don't use the international vegetarian symbol. The best thing we ate all week was something that was either very spicy patatas bravas or potato curry and we nearly missed it because it was a job finding out what it was. Entertainment - pretty naff but the usual hotel stuff and the kids enjoyed some of it. Staff - really good. Worked to death but still pleasant - some extremely so. Dining room - a little bit hard to get a table sometimes and breakfasts could be a shortage of crockery but the staff did really well. Lovely views. Drinks - beer and wine good. Didn't try everything but seriously need to get a bit better brandy - couldn't even tell that was what it was meant to be - you can get soberano pretty cheap Room cleaners - very good I think we would all go back Please please do veggie labelling and stop putting ham in things where it doesn't belong!!!
Myself & my partner stayed at Cala Ferrera for 10 nights. I was dubious on booking as I read some negative reviews but I am sorry to say some people really do moan about the most smallest things!!! The location of the hotel was perfect, the views are absolutely stunning. The staff could not do enough for you especially Eduardo, Juan and Louis & the lovely ladies on reception who I want to say a big thank you to for looking after us so well. They work so hard & were so friendly. You room is cleaned everyday & there is entertainment every evening. The view from the pool overlooks the sea and stunning scenery. If you want a hotel that is clean with friendly staff, amazing views then this is the hotel for you. There is a beautiful harbour within walking distance. Myself and my partner will be going back next year for sure.
The hotel was so close to the public and tourist bus stops (2 min walk). The staff at the hotel were so friendly; from the catering staff to the cleaners and reception staff, particularly Simone and Heidi who were so very lovely! We were there for a week in early October, all inclusive. Food was varied enough. And there was option to eat out with lots of restaurants just a minute's walk away. We booked all our excursions at the front desk of the hotel: mostly tours which were all great. I certainly recommend this hotel and location for a simple, cost-friendly relaxing getaway.
Good hotel for the price. I was dubious on booking this hotel due to some negative reviews, I'm glad I went with my gut and 6 of us booked for 4 nights away. The location is fab, the views from the terrace/pool area is amazing and it's right next to the beach with great snorkelling on your doorstep. Food is standard fayre but plenty good enough to keep tummies happy, I'm not sure there was much for vegans/veggies though. Whole hotel very clean, yes it's a bit dated in places but I would not mark the hotel for this as it's not a negative thing for me. Pool was freezing! Sea was warmer at the end of September, pool area was nice and we didn't struggle for sun beds. The sun did disappear behind the hotel mid afternoon which meant my sun worshipping friends had to get up and move! Staff were helpful and friendly
We picked this hotel because of its position and views of the small bay. From reading some of the former reviews we where apprehensive but needn't have been. The hotel is a three star and a little tired but spotless clean. The staff are great and efficient. We where half board but only really used the restaurant for breakfast and the odd snack at lunch time as we prefer to eat out at night. The food that we had was typical of what you normally get in this quality of hotel. The food is perfectly acceptable but it is more canteen than restaurant quality. The rooms are spacious with a good size bathroom. The mattresses aren't the best but we slept ok. Only one pillow but reception will arrange for extra pillows if required. The entertainment was naff! Not that we seen much of it. The only gripe we have is we wanted to exchange our dinner for lunch each day. we were told by the receptionist to see the waiter but the waiter told us to see the receptionist! Neither party could agree or satisfy our request. We still ate lunch but felt like we were about to be challenged on each occasion. This is a good hotel and I would have no hesitation returning to stay.
We arrived 04/10/17 at 10-30am,we knew the room wouldn't be ready, but at reception they immediately gave us our all inclusive bands so we could have a drink and relax at the pool area.yes there are a few cracked tiles, yes there is no air con,yes the food does get a bit repetitive, but even after 2 weeks I found plenty to eat! If you want better food go 4 star and pay £200 a week more! The staff have to put up with ignorant holiday makers who constantly break hotel rules, people reserving sun beds 2 hours before it opens, there was a trio who reserved 6 beds,3 for the morning,3 for the afternoon! Eduardo runs a tight ship, everything in its place,he works very hard. Would definitely go again, thanks for a great holiday👍👍👍
We had a lovely big room with an amazing view of the bay from our balcony. We were greeted with a cold platter of food upon our arrival at 1:30 in the morning which was very welcome. The reception rooms and dining room are pleasant although could do with a little updating of dining furniture. The pool area again has a wonderful view and the beach is only a short walk down some steps. The staff are well presented, friendly and helpful. The hotel is only a short walk from shops, bars and restaurants. I would have given it a higher rating except for the fact that in the dining room there always seemed to be a shortage of something. Cups, plates, knives and forks, some items of food. Although in my opinion there was plenty of choice of food and it changed daily, it was never very hot. One other thing, there is no air conditioning in the rooms. This was fine for the time of year we were there but I certainly wouldn't want to be there in the middle of summer. Having said that, we enjoyed our stay and thought we received good value for money. We were all inclusive.
We had a one night stay here as we arrived a day early to start our holiday. we arrived middle of night, but night watchmen checked us in, was polite and we got to our room in no time. Room was clean and beds comfortable. woke up to a great view from the balcony. Breakfast was traditional European spread. Nice walk around facilities, easy access to beach, maybe should have stayed longer. Recommend though.
First impression on check in was good, receptionist was very friendly and helpful but things changed when we got to the room, had requested a room on a high level but got the second floor, so ok was only a request so accepted that, the room was so small Harry Potter had more room in his cupboard under the stairs, it could not have been any bigger than 8/9ft by 8/9ft, and I an not exaggerating, we could only move around the room one at a time and if we wanted to get into the wardrobe you had to squeeze down the side of the bed, it was ridiculous, the balcony was however very nice so when in the room this was where we spent most of the time. Another issue was sleep quality, as there is no air conditioning in the room we had to leave the balcony door open at night as to hot not too and then we had noise issues, we were only there 5 nights I think if it had been any longer I would have complained. We stayed on an all inclusive basis, food quality was ok, usual fare, not an great choice but could always find something and most of what we had was tasty and well cooked. The majority of the staff were great, friendly, helpful and ready with a smile except one 'Juan' the barman, it seemed an effort for him to serve you, he never smiled, and I actually heard him sigh and tut on occasions, he even told me one night 'I was waiting in the wrong place to be served' !!!!, I was at the bar, there were no queue here signs so think it was just him being awkward, but I feel he really let the rest of the team down and he is the reason I have not rated the service higher. The hotel was clean including our room but the room was very dated and the bathroom was in need of a re vamp with an enormous crack in the shower basin but water was hot and shower was quite powerful. The location of the hotel is lovely overlooking Cala Ferrera bay with a path leading down to a really lovely beach. Would I stay here again, yes, but only if they could guarantee me a room with more space.
