This is the second time we have been to this resort, what a change we noticed on our arrival. The staff really made you feel welcome, when taken to our beach villa OMG what a change every thing had been updated very clean and tidy, gone had the bath even though the wife does like to soak and in came a second shower ,this one being under cover, nice lay out. a very LARGE double bed and not two singles put together! made your sleep lovely. the pool had been spruced up as well, did notice that the bat population had diminished a bit which for some one who likes to photograph them bit of a let down, any way the bar and staff were excellent again very friendly and went out of there way to please. Now for the best bit as a Retired Chef I could not fault the food in any way , if you want Mc or Bk then this not the cuisine for you I like to try some thing different the traditional style foods and there was plenty of that , it would be nice though if people once they have taken what they want would cover the food with the lids provided this would keep the food hot for every one else. Here again the staff are keen to help your meal time go well, I would also say if you find some thing wrong or you do not like then talk to the Chef he is very accommodating and will sort out your complaint, having spoken to the chef for several days he is a very dedicated and accomplished Master of his craft , which is backed up by the other chef's who work under him. For me this Island has grown and is now better than our fist stay, what surprised me most is the abundance of fire extinguishers say about every 100 yards around the living area and the signs telling you to wear the life jackets that are now in every room if you plan on going snorkeling due to the currents, Yes a much improved Island. THANKS to all the staff that made our stay brilliant, we will be back for our GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY.
Just back from a few days at this delightful resort. Windy, showery weather does not detract from its delights but obviously not the most advantageous weather to enjoy snorkelling but one accepts that at this time of year. Have to mention Amitha the maitre d in the restaurant who many times went the extra mile for me due to my dietary condition, coeliac disease. He even got up extra early to cook me an omelette before my departure as there was little else I could eat. Wonderful man and a credit to th hotel.
Beautiful island and staff very helpful. Stayed in beach villa and after being moved away from the building work we had a great room which was a nice walk from the reception/bar/restuarant. Great beach var at the top of the island with very pleasant hardworking staff, restuaranr staff were great too. The let down at the end was horrendous, when it was time to leave we left during a cyclone (in fact we were later informed it was the worst for 15 years). I appreciate that it was rainy season when we went in May but only had rain on the last two days, Our boat was sent out into a cyclone and what should have been a 20-25 minuts ride turned into a nightmare, the waves were huge, it was pitch black, boat captain used tissues in a vain attempt to clear his windscreen. Several times the waves were so big that the boat actually got air, we could hear the engines labouring as we left the water before crashing back down and one side of the boat being submerged. Consequently we stopped at a nearby island for the storm to subside and after a 90 minute wait (bobbing up and down moored in a harbour) we missed our flights home. I realise it was rainy season but we should not have been sent out on those conditions by the hotel, there was even a ring of police boats stopping anyone going out from the airport island. I have emailed the hotel to try and get some proof of this to reclaim extra expenditure from my insurers to no avail. All in all it left a sour taste in our mouths aftr a nice relaxing holiday, if we ever return to the Maldives it will be with a more responsible hotel who wont send you out recklessly into danger.
We made our booking well in advance. However after Reading the comments we had mixed feelings. Once we arrived we found the feedback to be completely inappropriate and unfair. If we could afford it we would definitely come back.
Paid the extra for the overwater villas. So glad we did. The villas are a decent size, quite luxurious and you have your own butler. We were all inclusive so didn't really spend much money in the resort apart from tipping the bar staff/butler. You could if you wanted to. There were excursions on offer as well as jet ski rentals and the usual stuff, however we were armed with our own snorkels, the Indian Ocean around us so there was no need to pay for excursions. Very peaceful and such a beautiful island. Snorkelling is great. From the overwater villa I missed a load of stingrays swim past at about 5pm one night. My partner pointed it out so the next night I sat on those stairs down into the ocean and waited, my partner said you'll not see them again but I did. I was there waiting and OMG what a sight, seeing a whole pack/shoal of stingrays (in the wild, non of this discovery cove stuff) was amazing. I tried to swim after them to get a few photos and they flew away. Not flew as in he sky but flapped their arms/wings/side flaps and they zoomed off. What a privilege to see that. I saw lionfish, loads of other fish, the marine life is good and even a shark, reef shark not sure it wasn't huge but was quite long. Again me being me I swam after it to get some snaps and it shot off :( The staff were great, amazing in fact and we were so appreciate of everything they did to make our holiday that bit extra special. We got the tail end of the hurricane that hit Sri Lanka and it the weather was horrific, our over water villa was even rocking on its foundations but our butler came and checked on us. Still offered to buggy us to the main restaurant and bar or bring us room service if we chose to stay in. We got to know the guys working the bar and the restaurant and everyone just seemed to go out their way to make sure we were catered for. It's not a 5 star resort but for the price we paid were extremely happy. Highly recommend
We traveled as a couple. Newly refurbished rooms and the food was amazing as there were so many dishes to choose from. Coz food is life for us!! ❤️ The sea was warm even though it was raining. Staff was to die for. Great service. This is our happiest vacation indeed.
Stayed at this resort as part of an add on after a tour of Sri Lanka. Lovely place to stay for four days. Our beach bungalow was very nice and spacious with a quirky half outside/inside private bathroom and shower. Ambiance in the resort was excellent with gorgeous views. The floors in the buffet restaurant, main bar and reception were all made of compacted white sand which enhanced the tropical paradise feel. Food was good with lots of choice. Nightly entertainment in the bar was professional and what you would expect from the female duo. The Lohis bar provides something different and entertaining as you can watch the surfers perform on the substantial 12 foot waves. The speedboat transfer to and from the airport was exhilarating. Only one minor irritation in that the sunbeds on the beach and by the pool were uncomfortable and bare plastic and did not have a cushion at all. Overall an excellent resort and experience.
We went to Hudhuranfushi had a lovely time nice and relaxing. Staff were brilliant just a few issues cocktail could be better using liquids not powders all the time. Was disappointed with the lack of fish to eat when it was on offer you had to buy not happy when it's a all inclusive hotel. From leaving England to the holiday and returning could not fault the airports boat rides etc. The island is so laid back it was nice not to wear shoes. To walk around the island which is so clean staff work very hard to please the guest. They really appreciate the tips at the end of your holiday. Food was really good just could do with more salad options there was only one night I didn't like what was on over. But I made do with the soups and their breads are outstanding. Would go back
My family has been to this resort six times because the DivePoint team here are fabulous! Yumi and crew have become friends over the years and we always look forward to seeing them. Three of my children and I did our Advanced Open Water scuba licenses here in a previous year, and my son & husband did Rescue Diver certification this summer with Harun. The island is beautiful and very relaxed. This year my husband and I upgraded for a few nights to the overwater bungalows, where our butler, Fayez, made our vacation extra special - with incredible service and attention. The chefs were always helpful in meeting my gluten-free requirements and all the dining staff have made the birthdays and anniversaries we've celebrated at Hudhuran incredible. This place has become a favorite destination that we can't wait to visit again!
