This is a clean hotel. I don't write bad reviews but feel a bit miss sold on the iamages provided. I paid for a sea view based on those images which gave an unrestricted view of the sea from the balcony. After leaving the hotel for a walk I found that view is on the other side of the building. I can see the sea but it's not the same view as I expected. I am a tad disappointed but enjoying the place all the same - especially now the generators below have quietened down. Internet took a long time to work too. Actually I'm writing this from the lobby.
On the day that I have arrived there were two men at the reception who couldn't care less, and it gave me a very unwelcoming image of the hotel. (I.e. i have requested an early check in but they disregarded it, they were very rude). There was a general disinterest to help the people at the desks on the Saturday when I have arrived. I have asked if they knew any vegetarian restaurant that would deliver at the hotel, I have received not help whatsoever I have to google it myself on my own phone as the reception guys said: 'I don't know what type of vegan you are I have vegan friends but I don't know restaurants'. Please note I did inform the hotel i was vegan one week prior to my arrival and asked for confirmation that my request was received. I also thought to check out earlier and found another hotel at some point on my first day. It is a shame as the other personnel, restaurant/gym/spa were very kind. Also the ladies at the reception on the day I left were much kinder and more professional. I guess rotating personnel does not deliver a consistent level of customer service. They should be training all personnel with the same standard if they want to claim to be a 4 star hotel. The restaurant chefs cooked something for me for those two nights I was staying, I am not sure why reception has created so much abrasive drama and almost make me check out earlier. There is a gym and spa in the hotel, the masseuse was a lovely lady and very good. The gym owner was extremely helpful too. Some chefs catered my vegan diet on request, these were the few people who showed a great customer service and will to help, which I have highly appreciated.
We stayed at the hotel for the first time and we were happy to get there again. Fantastic food, friendly and very helpful staff. The staff were very responsive and respectful to the guests. Only pleasant memories of the hotel, the city and Spain. Thanks a lot.
My boyfriend and I are a young couple. We stayed at the hotel for 5 days in May and it was a very nice hotel, all staff that I encountered were friendly. It also very conveniently has a bus stop right outside that takes you to the city centre and buses running back to the hotel run until quite late. The only let down for us was the food. We were breakfast only included and on the first night we decided to eat dinner at the hotel (20 euros). My boyfriend is a vegetarian and options were very limited for him. Also, I had chicken cooked in front of me by the chef and it wasn't properly cooked. I assumed this was just a mistake. On Tuesday and Wednesday we are out for dinner but on Thursday we ate at the hotel again for dinner. There were slightly more veggie options but I was again given undercooked meat, this time turkey. As I was leaving the next day and I had been given a brownie with nuts in at the bar after being told that it didn't contain nuts (I have a mild allergy), I was extremely annoyed and just went to my room. I will say that the restaurant itself was much more cautious regarding my allergy. Big shame as the hotel would have received 4-4.5 from me had this not been the case.
A bad Hotel. The poolarea was very dirty and the tenniscourt is in very bad condition. Old style and bad AC in the room. The breakfast was ok. I prefer Hilton In AirPort IF you need a Hotel in the area. Free parking
This is my third visit to this hotel, and I have given good reviews apart from the hot food on the servery at mealtimes. I am glad to report they seem to have sorted the problem and both breakfasts and evening meals where piping hot. The pool area is brilliant with plenty of loungers, it could do with a few more sun shades but that is a very minor point. Pool is clean and well maintained. Beer at pool bar reasonably cheap and nice and cold. Check in and check out quick, efficient and pleasant (as it always has been for me) Stayed in room 818 overlooking the pool, guadlamar, and Malaga and it really was a stunning view. An excellent stay. I am visiting again in September as a business trip. As a birdwatching tour guide I will be taking seven clients across to Andalucia, and very much looking forward to visiting the Tryp once again. Well done to all involved.
Booked this hotel for a short break, the hotel is close to the airport,a plus but a long way from Malaga city a €15 taxi ride, The hotel is in a residential area it sits on the beach with a nice promenade to walk along,a few restaurants close by,ideal if you want a quiet break. The hotel is clean and bedrooms are spacious, one downside in our room was air-con didn't work the outside unit had seen better days, reported this twice but nothing was done, not ideal with temperatures above 30c Breakfast was very good lots of choice, can't comment on evening meal as we ate out Staff not that friendly, but all in all a nice place to stay for a few days
Room was of a decent size with a gorgeous sea view. When we left the doors open you could hear the sea crashing against the rocks. Good sandy beach also. Indoor and outdoor pools, plenty of free sunbeds when we visited. Well soundproofed rooms and nice plentiful buffet breakfast. Public transport into the city was 1:30 euros by bus, which stopped outside the hotel. Taxis on site for our 4:45 a.m trip to the airport. All good!
Visited for the 3rd time in 5 years. Usually stayed for 5 days and it was good. This time though we were left dissapointed - the charm and activity are lost. Glad we stayed only a day. Breakfast is decent, but dinner is plain and dissapointing. Rooms are clean. Seems that the hotel has seen better days.
Despite the claims on its website this hotel is not close to Malaga. Round trip cab to city centre will cost €30 or you could take a bus which takes about 40 minutes one way. Hotel is on the beach but fairly isolated with no shops and very few restaurants nearby. The halls and floors are all tile which makes it noisy. The noise is made worse by spring loaded doors that bang when they close. The breakfast buffet has a lot of variety and the rooms are large, overall the buildings are nicely maintained. If you want an inexpensive holiday experience with the family this may be the place for you.
