So, I took my partner to Malaga for her birthday in New Year’s Day as it normally gets consumed by New Year’s Eve celebrations. We chose this hotel as it advertised itself on all of the booking sites as having good leisure facilities offered for the the New Years period, such as gym, sauna, outdoor swimming pool and cafe. When we got there however, we were told with a shrug that these services were closing early on New Year’s Eve and not opening again until the 2nd. We made the point that we had even paid double for New Year’s Eve and received way less than than offered so it was a fundamental breach of contract. Another shrug. Having contacted their local management and Wyndham directly asking for an explanation we still have heard nothing back in 8 days. They also have had the temerity to send an automated 40 question survey. Not good enough people, simply not good enough. Essentially, we paid a lot of.money for just a bed and it was a grim rather than celebratory experience for my girlfriend. We appreciate that Spaniards may want to take the holiday period off, but if so, then state it clearly on all your advertising media that your facilities are closed so that customers can make informed decisions, otherwise you are just being sloppy. There were other and better options available, which were open for similar money and yet you charged twice your normal rates for a vastly reduced service, when that profit should have been used to ensure continued service levels as advertised and as expected. We were not alone in being annoyed at this btw. Finally, when a customer complains in writing, at least have the manners to respond. This was a pun appalling failure of professional management at both a local and head office level. You have let down a decent hotel which I would have rated as 3/4, but now gets 1 star.
Needed a place to stay for a night before getting keys to the hired villa next day. Day earlier Flights plus this accommodation with breakfast was cheaper than on the day flights for family of three. Though the parking is ticketed, it is free for the hotel guests. I only wished we had more time to spend at the hotel to enjoy the sea and sand...
Buffet nearly had no variation. Most of the food was cold. Roms and hallway poorly updated. Beds not the best. Paint starting to fall of the roof. AC turns of when you turn of the light which result of very cold night when you stay at the hotel in the winter. The reception is the only part that really looks nice at the inside of the hotel. Location of the hotel I really good.
Stayed here between Christmas and new year with my wife and grown up children. Couldn’t find anything to criticise. The price/quality ratio was high. Comfortable rooms, very quirky chain hotel that didn’t feel like part of a chain, really excellent breakfast and friendly and efficient service. The only possible downsides were that it was a fifteen minute walk to the old town and a bit longer to the port area but I knew this when I booked and obviously was reflected in the price. Also it is part of the main train station complex but do not let this put you off. Main stations areas can be seedy and a bit grubby with undesirables there. This was not the case in Malaga. Highly recommended. We have decided to do the same break again for Christmas 2018.
Everything is basic , especially the food was terrible. No room service, no replacement for the refreshment. There wasnot much ventilation in the bathroom. We were so disappointed. We have been so many 4* hotels, never had such bad experienced.
This hotel was chosen as part of Trafalgar Tour of Spain, Morocco, and Portugal (September 2017). The hotel is located near the beaches. It is far from the city center and will require a taxi for transportation. The lobby is spacious and modern. The rooms are average and not as modern looking. To our disappointment, despite our late arrival to the hotel, some of our friends' rooms were not ready/cleaned/available. Our tour director was visibly frustrated with the hotel management. This is highly unacceptable. The hotel has a nice pool and was clean.
Stayed on two separate nights at beginning and end of our holiday in the area and were not disappointed. Easy check in and helpful staff. Good room with all you could want for short stay. The breakfast was included in the price and was super with great choices which were kept topped up and warm. If you want to stay near the airport to catch your flight home this is the hotel to use. Only downside for us was it is alittle bit difficult to find in the dark due to one way system in the area but this is small issue.
This is a large modern tourist hotel right on the beach and very close to Malaga airport. It was a great choice for our last night in Andalucia. We had a room on the 7th floor with a balcony looking along the coast towards Torremolinos and it almost felt as though the sea was in our room. The quality of the accommodation and the buffet breakfast was as expected for a four star hotel. When booking via the Melia website we received a 10 euro voucher which we used for a couple of g and ts in the bar. Guadalmar is a quiet, mainly residential suburb but for an overnight stay before catching an early morning flight it was a perfect seaside location. Being out of season the price we paid was excellent value and included free car parking.
This is a well-priced comfortable hotel with all amenities. Although some distance from downtown Malaga, it offers beautiful water views (ask for a sea view room on booking) and a relaxed atmosphere. If you don't mind being away from the city, this is a good option. The breakfast buffet is quite good, the staff friendly, and the service efficient. The views of the Mediterranean are spectacular and you also get to see aircraft tracking into the Malaga airport over the water (if you're into that sort of things). There's a nice pool, a bar and free wi-fi with some nice restaurants nearby.
I spent there one night to get an early flight in Malaga. November is off season and the hotel felt dead. The pool was under renovation and the bar/restaurant empty so I had a (short) walk on the (short) beach promenade, grabbed some snacks and coffee from the vending machine in the hallway (nice asset by the way) and sat on the room balcony watching the ocean. Beautiful views. The room is ok but basic. No kettle, no room service menu, very limited international tv channels and thin walls -you hear your neighbour hoing to the toilet. Decent transit holiday but would not book it for a holiday
