Myself and my missus comes here quite often. This is purely for few reasons. There's nothing like to enjoy a dinner and an evening beverage whilst staying away from all the grim holiday takers in Banus. Don't take me wrong, Banus is great to party... but we actually live here. So Puente Romano and its restaurants are just the place to visit.
I am very particular about rooms in a hotel. I booked 2 junior suites to have space for our family of four. The room size is big enough but the decoration of both rooms were completely different and were not in a very cheap way. It was not what I had envisioned for the price I was paying. The housekeeping was terribly inconsistent. One day we had water for our bedside at turn down service but most days we didn't. The vacuum cleaner was left outside our room overnight. My children's room stank of stale cigarettes. The two swimming pool available to guests were overcrowded and not very clean. What we liked about Puente Romano was the dining scene. With so many choices of restaurants, it was great to eat in so to speak. We had great meals at Nobu, Thai Gallery and Monkey Bar. We also enjoyed the Beach Club and the chiringuito restaurant. I had a very nice massage at the Six Senses Spa which was the epitome of the very classy and chic spa. I just don't understand why the rest of the hotel couldn;t be more like this. The breakfast was plentiful and good.
Great Tennis Club The tennis club is as nice as any tennis faciity I have visited. The pros are fantastic. Great clay courts and great lesson. Luis was my pro who I hit with and He said he has been teaching there since He was 10 years old. I stayed at the sister club hotel the Marbella Club
We have now visited this hotel for 3 years in a row....something we have never done before. But you just can't beat the rooms( now improved with full in room entertainment system including sky if you want to catch up on your sports ),the Service ( everything from the reception to drinks and dinner is handled professionally with a real focus on guest care) and the position and facilities( great restaurants, now has a Nobu). Can't fault this place and will be back next year. Thank you to Jorge for orgainising another great room!
WOW! This is what we needed for our family with our trip to Spain. We took 4 days and just went to Marbella to unwind and relax. The pools were well staffed in June and we were always able to find a seat at one of the pools. The service around the pool was quite good and although sometimes there was a wait during lunch service, that was to be expected. They were busy. The dinner restaurants were fabulous! Our favorite was Serafina. The service and food were excellent. We loved the family suite although be prepared--due to "family" areas as well as wildlife chirping about it is not too quiet.
Puente Romano in July is filled with international families enjoying sun soaked fun at the resort. For those couples looking for more privacy and quiet suggest another time outside peak European vacations. Excellent service throughout the resort from Concierge, to six senses spa to housekeeping etc. Breakfast included has a panoply of selections with freshness and on site cooking. Only major complaint was that at the resort of this quality the coffee at breakfast was from a very sad machine!!! Truly awful! Many restaurants in walking distance but Serafina is the winner in terms of food and service. We shall return but out of peak season.
Everyone at Puente Romano was fantastic..especially Veronica Alvarez. She was so helpful and provided anything we needed to make our vacation perfect. Thank you Veronica. Location was perfect. Restaurants were excellent
If you are looking for something special then look no further. Well placed between Marbella and puerto banus. Enclosed and secure resort with excellent facilities. A sister location to the MarbellaClub. Not quite as exclusive or well staffed as the MC but a great place. Pools are fantastic. Rooms excellent. And the restaurants on site are the best on this part of the coast. Great holiday. Quite expensive but worth every penny.
Although it is advertised as a 'beach resort' the beach really lets the hotel down. The beach itself is split into two parts separated by a stagnant stream. On several occasions there were not enough sun beds for hotel guests as they had been rented out to non-residents - despite this being against hotel policy. In addition many beds were 'reserved' with towels from early in the morning - surely a thing of the past!! The concierge said he would look into the matter but we heard no more. We and other guests were told that there was no bar service on the left side of the beach despite this being the only place to sit. The beach staff themselves were very young and apologetic but could not alter the situation. The rooms, staff, pools and restaurants were all excellent. Great service and spotlessly clean. Sadly what lets this hotel down is the dirty, dusty beach area which is in need of a major overhaul.
There are very few places that are as welcoming beautiful and worthwhile visiting as Puente Romano in Marbella. We came to celebrate my mother's 86th birthday. Her comments were " this was my best birthday ever". The rooms we had ( deluxe 2 bedroom suit and deluxe Junior suit) were beautifully and tastefully decorated with more than ample living space. When sitting out on one of the 3 balconies we were greeted by a view of the tropical gardens with many different types of birds tweeting their songs greeting and welcoming you a small part of paradise. There are many extremely fine restaurants including some with Michelin stars. Breakfast was extremely generous with many different types of very tastefully arranged foods. The croissants were the best I ever ate. There are 3 swimming pools and a private beach that ensures that despite the hotel being full you never feel crowded. The way the whole complex is arranged you feel that you are part of very large compound. Yet the clever way it is built you can easily reach any of the pools restaurants or the beach by walking through the lush tropical gardens. Marbella is 1/2 an hour from Malaga airport as long as you ask the taxi to take you via the toll road. If you want to experience what it's like to taste a bit of paradise then look no further .
